T E S T   D R I V E   M E M E

Welcome to Medietas and our first ever Test Drive Meme! As we approach the grand opening of the game on April 1st, we thought we’d kick things off with a little something that will get you all interacting in the new setting! And it’s one less sample you have to worry about on your application if you’re considering our little game here.

You all know what to do but if you don’t, just follow the instructions and HAVE FUN!

How To Play:

→ Comment with the character you’d like to test drive. Don’t forget to add their name and canon in the subject line.
→ Choose a scenario, or start your own!
→ Tag around!

Possible Scenarios:

1. New Arrival: You’ve just arrived on the island of Medietas, in the city of Aerilon via a … floating boat, with people you may or may not know? You can’t help but ponder what’s going on here, but the vessel seems to be approaching a harbor and when it docks, some lovely locals are standing in wait to greet you. After that they hand you a map and communications device and invite you to find your accommodations and explore.

2. Party, party!: On the evening of your first night in the city, a party is being thrown on Aerilon in honor of your arrival. Eat, mingle, dance, meet the other new arrivals! The locals put on quite the celebration!

3. Go Exploring!: There's plenty of places to explore, be it in your designated housing area, or on one of the adjoining community islands! Hike the mountains in Eurus. Sit on the beaches of Imber with a cocktail, or go swimming. Adventure in the forests of Mundus. Be careful though! Every area has it's dangers.

4. The Bells Are Ringing!: And that means a islands wide warning that something dangerous is approaching! But where the heck are they coming from? Nevermind that, the caretakers rally the children and the senior citizens while Scykal, Imber's local sea monster, emerges from the large body of water on the island.  Interesting.  He hasn't been spotted in a long time.  Help the locals defeat him!

5. Wild Card!: Choose your own scenario!

Oliver Queen | Arrow | Party

[personal profile] viridescere 2016-03-13 05:32 am (UTC)(link)
Once, Oliver had been the kind of guy to live and breathe by the thump of a party. He lived his life from one high to the next, from one girl to the next, and never gave a second thought to people he hurt along the way. He changed. After the shipwreck, after Lian Yu, after Hong Kong - the Oliver who had once lived only for his next good feeling had faded away and in his place was someone hardened and jaded.

It had only been after returning to his city and building his team that he'd recovered some of that lightheartedness again. He was never going to be a party boy, that was for sure, but he could be something a little more than the stark figure he made himself out to be on the island.

At this party, he hung around the edges with a drink. While he was enjoying himself, he was also watching and observing. He was still the Arrow, even if this wasn't his city, and he still wanted to know who all the players were in the game.
inquisitorialness: (026)

Nadia Trevelyan | Dragon Age | 2 (post-Trespasser)

[personal profile] inquisitorialness 2016-03-13 05:59 am (UTC)(link)
[ Nadia thought she'd put all this behind her, after dissolving the Inquisition. She was, at least as far as the rest of Thedas knew, retiring. Mostly. As such, she didn't expect to have to be at another party like this, well, ever.

But she knows what these are really for - it's not just about welcoming guests. Or captives disguised as guests, for that matter. It's always, somehow, about politics. About the Game, and Nadia may not have been born and raised to it like some, but she has picked up a few things.

So she watches and listens more than she talks, keeps to the sidelines, and mostly only speaks when spoken to. Approaching her, one might not notice anything unusual, until one gets a good look - only to discover her left arm is gone at the elbow, replaced with a wood-and-metal contraption that she doesn't seem entirely comfortable with, and thus she holds it oddly at her side. ]

Elsa | Frozen/OUAT | Prompt 1

[personal profile] its_never_bothered_me 2016-03-13 06:19 am (UTC)(link)
"Please, you don't understand." Elsa steps to the side to avoid some of the people coming off of the boat while remaining focused on the man in front of her. She is currently ignoring the small phone like device and map that he is trying to hand her, all while trying to convince him that he needs to let her go back home.

"I cannot stay here." She shakes her head, keeping her hands clenched tightly shut at her side as she darts a quick look at more people coming off the boat. The air is chilling around her, most likely due to her ever growing sense of anxiety but she is battling to keep it all under control. She is pretty sure no one will forgive her if she freezes the whole harbor.

"I have to go home." Her tone is rather insistent. "Please. You must let me go back."

Barry Allen | The Flash | Party

[personal profile] particlized 2016-03-13 06:32 am (UTC)(link)
[ Barry pushed up the glasses on his nose, looking around nervously. He hated parties, or rather he hated having to talk to people. The Flash, now he could talk, he was interesting. He did cool things. Barry? Well regular old Barry is boring. He doesn't know how to relate, at least that is what he thinks as he looks around.

He shouldn't be so hrd on himself. He has done a lot of good things since becoming the Flash, but he's also made a lot of mistakes. Maybe being on the island won't be so bad. Here at least No one will die because of him. ]

Mr. Gold/Rumpelstiltskin | OUAT | Prompt 1

[personal profile] magicsprice 2016-03-13 07:26 am (UTC)(link)
[Something had happened after the ferry had entered the portal. He wasn't quite sure what had gone wrong, but obviously something had. For starters, he was surrounded by strangers. Emma and the others weren't in sight. So whatever had occurred had seemingly singled him out. Secondly, the place they were docking at decidedly wasn't the Underworld. He of all people had known what to expect upon arrival, this certainly wasn't it.

The reason for the separation was one he wasn't certain of. He had his doubts that Hades was involved, which left seeking answers elsewhere. Disembarking, he was greeted and given answers that didn't really answer the questions he wanted answered. He could only hope that the others, if they were still en route to the Underworld didn't end up suffering for his absence.

Not to mention the simple fact, that he currently had no idea how he was going to get out of here and return to Belle's side as he'd promised prior to departing. He sighed and after consulting the map, headed away from the docks muttering softly under his breath.]

Fate must really hate me.

----1

Was it a trick? Was it one of Mad-Eye's training sessions gone horribly awry? Was she dreaming? Had she hit her head again? When one was both a witch and a bit of a klutz, there were many possibilities.

The map and device had been shoved into the pocket of her coat. The map might lead her to a trap. What would Mad-Eye say if she walked right into one? That she could have lost a buttock or another appendage apparently. For someone who said it hadn't been him that had lost a left butt cheek, he certainly was concerned about it. (It had to have been him, she knew.) She would get to the map later. In the meantime, she needed to explore her new surroundings.

Nymphadora Tonks looked to the left and then looked the right as she stepped out onto the dock. She should have looked where she was going which was straight ahead. Oooh! Impact in three... two... one... Oomph! Ow.

Tonks reached up and rubbed her nose. "Sorry about that mate. I guess I'm still getting my land legs back or is it air legs up here? Anyway, you alright?"

Jane Kirk | Star Trek AOS | 3

[personal profile] punch_it 2016-03-13 03:25 pm (UTC)(link)
There has never been a force field Jane has met that she hasn't instantly wanted to disable. Disable, rebuild, and maybe use for something else. Something greater. Mostly right now, she just wants to tear this one down and see what this place is really hiding.

And yeah, no one can convince her there isn't something hidden beyond this shimmering wall. She's not stupid. She's not pressing herself against it. She's in a holding pattern a few meters away, watching for any change, any tell where there is a weak point, where there isn't something steady, a place where there might be some kind of computer holding this thing in place.

Energy can be such a bitch.

Jane isn't keen on dying for curiosity sake.

Maybe this is what it means to be a grown up.

[personal profile] completely_ordinary 2016-03-13 03:30 pm (UTC)(link)
A whole day was a pretty long time to be away from home, when you'd only just returned home, when you'd just gotten married, when you were alone in a city. Frustrated as she might have been, she wasn't going to miss out on a party. Not because she felt like celebrating, this was the farthest she'd felt like celebrating in weeks, but it gave her a chance to see if maybe, just maybe, there would be someone else in this city she'd recognize.

It was a pretty big hope. But she'd bet on bigger miracles before.

So it really, really wouldn't surprise anyone who knew her that she'd found a chocolate fountain and parked herself beside it.

The only thing that would make this better would be, well, if it'd been at home.

Rowena Ravenclaw - HP - First Night Party!

[personal profile] oftheglen 2016-03-13 04:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Rowena had been convinced that all this had been an elaborate ruse set up by Godric simple because she had chosen to focus on creative a comprehensive rubric for their potential students and he had called her a damn stick in the mud. At least, that was her thought when she awoke in that floating boat. But when she'd been ushered from place to place, she began to wonder...

Even Gryffindor couldn't begin to plot something this elaborate.

She stuck to the sides, eyes watching along the merriment for something amiss. There had to be a way home, a way out. Had she been kidnapped? She hadn't been approached to demand ransom from her House nor her friends. No one had even mentioned Salazar, Helga, nor Godric yet. She missed her friends already and was just on the cusp of not hexing Godric's bollocks to the four corners.

[personal profile] stephrogers 2016-03-13 04:47 pm (UTC)(link)
When Steph's eyes opened, she groaned a little. That HYDRA agent packed a hell of a wallop. She just hoped Sam was okay: it was enough to knock her off her feet and her helmet clean off. She stiffly moved and pushed herself up into a sitting position, feeling the ground beneath her sway a little.

"What the--?"

Blue eyes widened at her surroundings. She was in a boat. Worse, a boat that looked like it was floating on air. She kept her nerves and surveyed the area. Where the hell was she? This certainly wasn't Nice, where she and Sam had tracked down a clue of their missing person.

As soon as the boat docked, she carefully climbed out, shield clutched tightly in hand. The locals seemed friendly enough, shoving things in her hand and pushing her off with words about accommodations.

"Hello?" she called into the communications device. "Can anyone hear me?"

Lord Grayson Spencer of Knell Manor - OC - Party!

[personal profile] lordofmanor 2016-03-13 04:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Now this was much more his scene. Revelry, food, music, people throwing a joyous occasion! The brunet laughed as he jumped right into the fray, turning, twisting ,and moving his way everywhere, dancing with anyone who pulled him into their circle.

All right, turning up in the boat was odd. Being told he was to find his own means of a bed was odd. But hey, who could he blame if he had this to look forward to? He was out of his element but managed to move right in along with the locals.

Grace.

He only stopped for a second, wondering of his dear sister. She would enjoy this as much as he did. Especially if it meant that it kept her from marriage.

The manor.

He pushed that down and away. The impending doom of his own selection of a bride.

Celyn.

His dear friend and servant. He might be missing him at the moment. Who else would Celyn clean up after? Certianly not mother and father.

No, the celebrations were lovely but nothing to what sort of parties he and his dear sister could throw at home. He didn't feel too homesick. Not yet. But soon, it felt like. He knew, at least, he wanted...needed his sister with him.

Now that he's had a chance to get settled in to his house, and used to the idea of being in a strange new place, he's going to take advantage of the nice weather to go exploring a bit. After looking through the house, he estimates that there's enough there to last him for about a month. That gives him time to start familiarizing himself with the place before he needs to worry about a job, but it doesn't hurt to get an idea of what's out there.

Come and find him when he's out for a walk.

Adrian knew he shouldn't be drinking and yet, here he was, getting sodding drunk so that he didn't feel the cloying press of Spirit against his mind. When he drank, he heard Tatiana less, he heard his own self-doubt less, everything was simply less. It felt better.

Currently he was balancing an unlit cigarette between his lips and an over-full glass of scotch, trying his best not to spill it on passersby. "Careful, not all here," he called out as warning.

Understatement.

2 - Party time!

[ As a rule, Adrien would not have been caught at a party unless dragged or blackmailed into going. But given that the list of unknowns about this place (and what he was doing here) vastly outstripped the list of knowns, it seemed in his best interest to attend.

He wasn't a particularly engaging figure, preferring to stick to the edges of the celebrations, watching the people who were obviously locals and those who appeared to be just as lost as he felt. Nursing a mug of some fermented type beverage, he fell into the habit of so many wallflowers and ended up circling the food table a couple of times.

He'd just finished eating a bread and cheese snack and moved to chase it down with his drink. This marked the first time he'd actually drank from the mug and as soon as the beverage hit his throat, he coughed and spit it right back up. ]

What the ever loving hell is in this? [ He exclaimed, staring down into the mug suspiciously. Seriously, it had been like tasting pure alcohol! To be fair though, Adrien was a lightweight. ]

4 - Bells! Seamonsters! Chaos! Oh my!

[ Between the bells and the anxious calls of parents and caretakers, it was bedlam all around. Adrien was just getting his bearings, following the flow of the able bodied crowd towards the city's edge, overlooking the body of water.

Just in time to see the creature rising from the waves. ]

Knew that party was too good to be true. [ He grumbled, perhaps just speaking to himself or perhaps commenting to whomever was close enough to hear.

Regardless, he reached into his coat and withdrew a bastard sword, hefting it with obvious familiarity. ]

Anybody have an idea of what would constitute high ground around here?

[ Maybe he should have spent a bit more time exploring. ]

[She was never one to remain idle for long. Despite the strange location, fear had never been a part of Lyanna's nature. Pushing away from those gathered to greet the new arrivals, the she-wolf went instead on her own, eager to see the forests and mountain sides. It was the caves that drew her, drawing her to peer into the darkness, curious of what could lurk within.

Still dressed in the armor of the Knight of the Laughing Tree. Her shield and helmet left behind. Tossed aside as she raced through the woods, Rhaegar close on her heels, ordered by his father to discover the name of the mysterious knight that had appeared from nowhere, punishing the errant squires that had attacked her father's man.

Somehow, she had forgotten she was wearing it. It seemed almost natural, more so than the dress her mother always pressed her to wear. There was no reason to be lady like here. Not while she was exploring the vast landscapes, the promise of adventure over the horizon.

She longed for it, without the restraint of her family. Despite her love for them, she wanted freedom and wanted adventure. So long as she was here, she could finally find it.]

[Rey doesn't dance. She wouldn't have the first clue how to, and since it's doesn't look like a thing that could've ever earned her food, clothing or shelter, she doesn't see much point in learning how. Doesn't really look at that fun, either. Everyone just looks like they're seizing...or copulating. Which is uncomfortable to watch, to say the least, so she spends a lot of time deliberately not watching and focusing solely on the food. Which is fine with her, since to her everything that isn't flat protein portions and tasteless bread is exotic and new and amazing.

She's very out of practice with being social, though that was admittedly by her own choice rather than something inflicted on her by circumstance, to live and struggle and survive alone rather than trust another person with her life and livelihood. But these are different circumstances, and it may be to her benefit to actually try and make friends. Somewhere around her fifth plateful of food she's actually starting to feel full, and can nibble and savor the cut fruit a piece at a time, rather than shoveling forkful after forkful into her mouth. Since now seems as good a time as any to try and strike up a conversation, she wanders around and tries to find people who have the same uncertain and awkward posture and expression she knows is mirrored by her own face and body language.]

[Land isn't supposed to float, is it? Arya scowled down at the hard-packed soil that stretched out in front of her and wondered if it would ever really feel solid and real beneath her feet. What happened at the city's edge? What happened if she fell? It all looked so real and solid. When she crouched down and laid her palm against the dirt, it felt real.

She didn't like it. It was full of magic and wonder and it should feel magical and wonderful, but it just felt wrong. She hated it. She hated feeling unsteady and clumsy and afraid...

She wrapped her hand around Needle's hilt and drew in a sharp, angry breath. It was just a stupid island, and she wouldn't be afraid of it, she wouldn't. Fear cuts deeper than swords, she thought, and trudged up the hill, stomping her feet in defiant frustration as if daring the soil to crumble beneath her. She was a Stark of Winterfell, a direwolf, and she refused to be afraid of magic; it was just dirt and stone and trees like anything else. So what if it could float?]

[ While the arrival had been... confusing, to say the least, and the answers the locals had provided left a lot to be desired, well, no answers could be found by staying in the house -- and a party seems just the perfect place to start.

And really, Lily has to admit, the food is good.

It only takes a sharp movement of her wand and a precise incantation to turn the cocktail glass full of blue liquid into a small bird, white with blue streaks on its wings. The bird chirps and starts circling around her head, making her laugh lightly. She may be missing those important to her, but here, there is no Voldemort, no war. The reprieve, however short-lived it will be, is welcome.

Cole could feel something seeped into the stones. Hear it, like a whisper moving down a long, dark hallway, soft and shifting and subtle. He pressed his ear to the wall, cheek flush with the rough bricks, the wide brim of his hat bent at an odd angle and revealing the usually shadowed forehead and eyes to the sunlight.

"Hello?" Left hand lifted to hold his hat onto his head, lest another strong breeze try to pluck it away again, right hand against the stone, pressing and patting. "Hello!" He curved his hand into a loose fist and knocked, politely. "My name is Cole. Can you hear me? I think you might be hurting people. They don't belong here, but they are here, and it makes them very loud, sad, desperate, angry. Can you send them home?" He paused, rolling his lower lip inward and gnawing at the thin skin with his front teeth, a habit he'd picked up when he'd started to become more human. "I'll stay," he offered quietly. "If you're lonely. I'll stay and talk with you, but you should let the rest go home."

Now, this is a welcome worthy of a king!

Leo was expecting nothing more than a nice stroll in order to get familiar with the city, but a gala to honor him is perfectly fine, too! There's so much in the way of food and drink, and the Illyrian king is ready to devour all of it.

He gladly accepts a mug of their finest ale, chugging it freely. After what he's been through, he deserves one, or maybe four or five. Though he really should slow down if he's to last the entire night.

"I am pleased by your hospitality. It rivals my coronation ceremony. Now come, the night's still young. Let the celebrations continue!"

[personal profile] fivethreestrawberryblonde 2016-03-13 09:54 pm (UTC)(link)
This was far from Lydia's first rodeo when it came to heading somewhere totally new and strange, but it didn't seem to get any easier. At the very least, this one gave her a bit of a run-down of what was happening right off the bat. It was almost friendly. Of course, that still begged the question what exactly they wanted from her, she was pretty sure, but one thing at a time.

For the time being, she would do exactly as they suggested and explore. She needed to find a pencil first, or figure out if the communication device would let her take notes. Notes would always help.

It wasn't the first time Adam had been on his own in a new place, but it was the first time since he became part of the little group back home - Gansey-Lynch-Parrish, he reminded himself, imagining that they were as much with him now as Cabeswater was. After all, he could still easily recall their faces and voices, their responses to things. Like right now, he could imagine Ronan just going right ahead without a care in the world.

So that was what he did, trying not to feel self-conscious as he explored what the map suggested was the main island, eyes skimming over every individual building, taking it all in before she started to study individual things. Get the bigger picture, understand it all; that's what he thought Gansey might think of doing. And that's what he'd learned from his time with them both: he could live and learn and execute in a way that only Adam Parrish could. He could make it in a place like this.

Henry wasn't quite sure what to make of the floating boat. He's woken up and not even remembered falling asleep but he'd obviously been on his way to school as he was in his coat with his bag. Looking around, he didn't immediately recognise anyone and wondered what was going on.

As he looked at the map he had been given, he tried to shrug off the feeling of wanting to ask every person he met if they'd seen his father. He was fifteen now. He could handle himself. "It's just another adventure." He told himself before walking off to explore.

The last thing Bran remembered was falling. Being pushed and falling. So when he woke up on the floating boat, he couldn't understand what had happened. Looking around, he didn't see the Queen or her brother, but he didn't see any of his family or Summer. Was he dead?

He continued off the boat and wondered that as he looked around. He was suddenly glad of the lessons Maester Luwin gave him in reading as the map would have made no sense otherwise. Continuing in a random direction, he looked for someone he might know to help him with his predicament. But the longer he found no one, he longer he wondered if he had died. It was a long way down after all.

Robb Stark was never one for parties, especially none where it mattered to him. He sat in a chair against the wall, observing from a distance. He wasn't bitter, watching people laugh and slosh their drinks as they paraded around him in gleeful madness. He somehow missed the meaning of having fun and relaxing; Not since father left with his sisters from Winterfell, nor after becoming king or even the night of his own marriage.

The frown he forgot was cemented on his face deepened as he unknowingly squeezed his mug so tightly, the knuckles on his hands became white. Finally he sighed and his posture slackened before taking a drink of mead.
