Welcome to Medietas and our first ever Test Drive Meme! As we approach the grand opening of the game on April 1st, we thought we’d kick things off with a little something that will get you all interacting in the new setting! And it’s one less sample you have to worry about on your application if you’re considering our little game here.

You all know what to do but if you don’t, just follow the instructions and HAVE FUN!

How To Play:

→ Comment with the character you’d like to test drive. Don’t forget to add their name and canon in the subject line.
→ Choose a scenario, or start your own!
→ Tag around!

Possible Scenarios:

1. New Arrival: You’ve just arrived on the island of Medietas, in the city of Aerilon via a … floating boat, with people you may or may not know? You can’t help but ponder what’s going on here, but the vessel seems to be approaching a harbor and when it docks, some lovely locals are standing in wait to greet you. After that they hand you a map and communications device and invite you to find your accommodations and explore.

2. Party, party!: On the evening of your first night in the city, a party is being thrown on Aerilon in honor of your arrival. Eat, mingle, dance, meet the other new arrivals! The locals put on quite the celebration!

3. Go Exploring!: There's plenty of places to explore, be it in your designated housing area, or on one of the adjoining community islands! Hike the mountains in Eurus. Sit on the beaches of Imber with a cocktail, or go swimming. Adventure in the forests of Mundus. Be careful though! Every area has it's dangers.

4. The Bells Are Ringing!: And that means a islands wide warning that something dangerous is approaching! But where the heck are they coming from? Nevermind that, the caretakers rally the children and the senior citizens while Scykal, Imber's local sea monster, emerges from the large body of water on the island.  Interesting.  He hasn't been spotted in a long time.  Help the locals defeat him!

5. Wild Card!: Choose your own scenario!

Adam Parrish | the Raven Cycle | Option 3

[personal profile] parrishing 2016-03-13 10:13 pm (UTC)(link)
It wasn't the first time Adam had been on his own in a new place, but it was the first time since he became part of the little group back home - Gansey-Lynch-Parrish, he reminded himself, imagining that they were as much with him now as Cabeswater was. After all, he could still easily recall their faces and voices, their responses to things. Like right now, he could imagine Ronan just going right ahead without a care in the world.

So that was what he did, trying not to feel self-conscious as he explored what the map suggested was the main island, eyes skimming over every individual building, taking it all in before she started to study individual things. Get the bigger picture, understand it all; that's what he thought Gansey might think of doing. And that's what he'd learned from his time with them both: he could live and learn and execute in a way that only Adam Parrish could. He could make it in a place like this.

"Hey!" Claire was standing to the side, looking around with a little frown, when she spotted the young man walking by her with a map in hand. She hoped that she wouldn't take him by surprise or startle him too badly, so she offered a slight smile. "Can I possibly steal your map for a second? I just need to check something out and, of course, I forgot my map back at my place."

At first, Adam didn't hear her; being deaf in his left ear did that to a person. The hum of magic all around him - not speaking, like Cabeswater, but definitely there, like white noise or some version of tinnitus - was a little distracting, but his observation skills were still top notch; he still noticed her, after a second.

Adam's smile was slight as well, if a little surprised that she was opting to talk to him, and his attention slid down to his map as he caught the rest of her request. ...bly steal your map- All he needed to do was turn his head a little, and the other girl's words carried above the white noise.

"Sure," he granted, holding it out to her. The edges were already slightly worn, from where he clutched it perhaps too tight, from where he turned it around and toyed with the edges as a way of fidgeting. "What are you looking for?"

She might recognise a slightly Southern accent, his vowels just slightly too long despite his attempts to make it sound more well-bred. He was a little too distracted by everything else to try to hide his low-born accent entirely.

She did recognize the slightly Southern accent, just like he might pick up on the hint of a Texan accent clinging to her words as she thanked him for briefly relinquishing his map into her care. She took note of how the edges were already starting to show signs of use and she wondered how much he found himself staring at it while walking around.

"I'm trying to remember exactly how to get back to the housing area." She admitted with a sheepish smile as she checked the map, nodded and offered to return it back to him. "You wouldn't think I could lose my way but somehow I managed it. I think it's all the stairs, you know?"

There was definitely something familiar about her tones, and he couldn't help but smile faintly - almost imperceptibly - at it. Fancy that, running into someone who at least sounded American in a place like this. As for her unvoiced question: too much. He was very much used to a life of note-taking, whether for class or for an ongoing search for sleeping Welsh kings. It was all terribly academic.

"I think it's that way," Adam suggested, gesturing with one hand the right direction as he accepted the map back with the other one. "And you're right, there are an awful lot of stairs. At least none of us will need any extra exercise, with all the walking we'll probably do.

"I'll go with you, if you like."

"Maybe they want us to stay in shape for some reason?" She asked, arching a brow almost playfully as she looked towards some of the stairs nearby. Really though, maybe it was a possibility? The island was such a big place and a lot of it looked wild too, so who really knew what was out there.

"And sure." She smiled then. "I wouldn't mind the company. I'm Claire, by the way."

A laugh escaped him, and even though he had no real reason to try to hide it, he tried. His smile was one that looked as though he was trying to keep it under wraps, crinkling his eyes and tugging at the corners of an otherwise tight expression; it was still clear that he was enjoying himself, though. "I hope it's not some kind of marathon. I'd like a little warning, if it is."

Adam's tendency towards hospitality and gentlemanly behaviour got the better of him right that moment, and he offered her his hand for a shake. It would be firm, but not too much. "Adam. Nice to meet you." And with that, he began to head off in the previously indicated direction, hoping it was the right one. But not too much; it wasn't every day that he met pretty girls, and without any of the other guys around.

Off to the young man's left was another guy looking over his map. Where they seemed to be standing was in front of a rather familiar looking business with windows displaying their merchandise. It was the kind of place where kids gathered round, faces and hands pressed to the glass while the storekeeper put everything on display.

King's head lifted abruptly. "Oh my God.. it's a FUCKING CANDY STORE!"

Adam might have been deaf on that side, but it was pretty hard to ignore the guy suddenly yelling about candy. The expletive really just added to the obvious excitement; he couldn't help the faint smile that tugged at the corner of his lips. He was reminded rather starkly of Ronan. For better or worse.

Still, it was nice to have something entertaining her, and at the exclamation, he glanced over. "So it is," he mused, circling around, eyes briefly shielded by one hand so he could see some of the wares. "I guess even places like this have candy stores." Not that he knew what 'places like this' were normally like.

"Planning on getting anything?"
