Welcome to Medietas! Have an interest in joining the game? Maybe you have an old muse that you want to dust off? Or, maybe you're just looking for a place to voice test a brand new character and would like to do so in our little island setting among friends? Well, whatever the reason, this is where you can do that!

You all know what to do but if you don’t, just follow the instructions and HAVE FUN!

How To Play:

→ Comment with the character you’d like to test drive. Don’t forget to add their name and canon in the subject line.
→ Choose a scenario, or start your own!
→ Tag around!

Possible Scenarios:

1. New Arrival: You've just arrived on the island of Medietas, in the city of Aerilon, via a floating boat with people you may or may not know. Of course, you can't help wondering what the heck is going on, or how you even got on the boat in the first place. But as soon as the vessel docks you are greeted by some lovely locals who offer you a map and a communications device before leaving you to your own. You probably have questions and there seems to be a number of people there already who may or may not have those answers. Talk to them! Or, get on the network and introduce yourself!

2. Getting Settled: So, now that you've arrived and wandered around the starter home you've been given, it's time to check out the rest of the islands. There's a market on Aerilon that is full of treasures. Or, you can check out Chapter Six bookstore. Perhaps you wander over to the Mean Princess facility on Mulciber. There is so much to see!

3. Event: Teams are being put together to venture out deep into the islands of Eurus and Mulciber to track and destroy a vicious beast who has been the reason for the disappearances of several island locals. Please help stop the creature before anyone else goes missing!

4. Wild Card: Got something else in mind and want to create your own scenario? Go for it!

"That's a skill I never quite picked up." He'd never had the opportunity, or the need. So he could actually use some food.

"You're really doing this because you know me in the future?"

[magneticxman]

"I'm doing this because of a lot of things. Mostly because I'm a nice person. I know you haven't had a lot of that, probably. Which makes me want to help you more. It's a vicious cycle." She gave him a wry smile. "You're better off just letting me mother you a little. I could use the practice."

[frankensteinian]

His face remains impassive but there's a tightening in his chest. He has lost so much, in his entire life, and here's someone offering the very thing he's lost, when she doesn't even have to. He turns away until he can compose himself.

"You know me in the future, you're from a world similar to my own, you're not human. You're a mutant?"

[magneticxman]

"What gave it away, the flying or the hair?" She tucked a bit of hair behind her ear. "My father is a mutant, my siblings are mutants, I think my mother was a mutant. It would be weird if I wasn't a mutant."

[frankensteinian]

"I haven't heard of many families of mutants. I have been away from that for awhile though." When the whole world is looking for you, you hide away and don't call attention to yourself.

"You think she was a mutant? You're not sure?"

[magneticxman]

"It's not a first meeting story. Come on, let's get some food and get you cleaned up."

She delicately took the directions to his house out of his hand and lifted them both up, high enough that she could deposit them down in a straight line onto his lawn.

[frankensteinian]

"Those should probably happen in the other order." He would really like to get cleaned up, now that he's had a little time for his head to clear. He could use more time, too, to get his bearings. "So at least when they kidnap us, they're thoughtful enough to give us shelter and clothing."

[magneticxman]

"The houses are nice, too. I'm worried I'll be housed alone again. I do better with a roommate."

She strode into the house like she owned it, headed straight towards the kitchen. "The shower is upstairs, along with the bedroom and clothing. I'll get dinner going."

[frankensteinian]

He's more than a little flabbergasted when she just walks right into the house without even asking. There aren't many who would do that. He follows her in. "There's food in here too?"

[magneticxman]

"A little bit. Enough to get by until you settle into a job." One of the things she'd gotten from her father, other than her powers, was her ability to take charge when it seemed necessary.

[frankensteinian]

A job? "Someone thought of everything, didn't they." He watches her for a moment. "I should...probably leave you to it."

[magneticxman]

"Someone did. I think the natives are the ones who stock the houses, though the clothing all fits no matter who you are so. . ." She shrugged. "Don't worry, I'm a good cook and I'll have something done once you've cleaned up."

Soon the kitchen was full of flying pots and utensils as Lorna got to work making a rather large meal. He'd probably want leftovers the next day.

He wanders upstairs in search of a shower and clean clothes, still not sure why he's letting her into his house like this. It does help that she's a mutant, at least.

When he comes back downstairs, he's in clean clothes, and he'd even found a razor for a shave. He catches the tail end of the pots flying everywhere. "That's one way to do it. It's not something you see every day." Unless you're him.

[magneticxman]

While he collected himself Lorna made spaghetti and steamed vegetables. It would keep well as leftovers and it didn't take much time.

Erik looked a lot better when he was cleaned up. Lorna smiled again and nodded in response to his statement. "Only in my kitchen. Using my powers helps me keep my head clear."

[frankensteinian]

"I haven't met anyone with the same powers as me before." Not that he doesn't think it's possible, because obviously it is, he just hasn't seen cases of mutations overlapping before. "What must meals have been like at your house, with a whole family of you."

[magneticxman]

Lorna's smile became brittle and faded. She'd have to be careful and ease him into the truth. It wouldn't be easy for him to take. "I was raised by my aunt and uncle. They aren't mutants. But they treated me well, despite my oddities."

She went to the cupboard and grabbed a pair of plates. "I have the same powers as my father, but my siblings have different powers."

[frankensteinian]

"Your father." There are too many coincidences to ignore now. He knows that mutant children don't always have the same powers as their parents, but obviously some of them can. "Who was your mother?"

[magneticxman]

It seemed like he was putting two and two together, which made Lorna even more nervous. How would he react? Would he take it well or lash out and deny it all? "Suzanne Dane. She died in a plane crash when I was four. Along with her husband. My father decided it was best to let other people raise me." Her tone was gentle, with no hint of accusation. Deep down she knew he'd probably made the right choice. Magneto was a lot of terrible things but he'd made one good decision in his life.

It seems his past isn't done catching up with him today. At least this time it's not someone who means to cause him trouble, or is afraid of him. He reaches for the counter behind him, leans against it for support. "I think we can say he was right about that." She wouldn't have had any kind of a life with him around.

[magneticxman]

"Probably," Lorna agreed. "But I still wish he hadn't."

She was quiet for a moment, clutching the plates tighter than was strictly necessary. "It's nice to see you again."

[frankensteinian]

I still wish he hadn't. So much that others wish he hadn't done, and nothing to be done about them now. He's not sure he would even if he could, for most of them. Even this one, no matter what she says, he knows she was better off where she was.

"You don't want me as your father."

[magneticxman]

That hurt a lot more than she'd expected it to. She set the plates down carefully and took a deep breath to try to stay herself. "No, I don't. But the fact remains. I'm giving you an open invitation to be part of my life and your granddaughter's life. Don't reject it before you've gotten to know us."

She served out a plate of food and went to sit at the table. "We don't choose our family, but we do choose how we react to them."

[frankensteinian]

"I didn't mean that." He had, but not in the way she seems to have taken it. He would have done anything to keep Nina safe, willingly gave himself up for that very reason, and he had made the decision that he had about Lorna for basically the same reason. She was better off without him around.

He follows her into the next room. "Erik Lensherr isn't someone who you want as your anything. Associations with me don't end well." Even for those more innocent than he is.

[magneticxman]

Lorna let out a humorless laugh. "Let anyone try to hurt me or my child because of you. I'm no shrinking violet or sheltered little girl. I've been fighting since I turned 19 and I'm ready keep fighting for what I believe."

[frankensteinian]

Well this is promising. He goes back into the kitchen for a plate of food, then comes to join her properly. "What is it that you believe?"
