Welcome to Medietas! Have an interest in joining the game? Maybe you have an old muse that you want to dust off? Or, maybe you're just looking for a place to voice test a brand new character and would like to do so in our little island setting among friends? Well, whatever the reason, this is where you can do that!

You all know what to do but if you don’t, just follow the instructions and HAVE FUN!

How To Play:

→ Comment with the character you’d like to test drive. Don’t forget to add their name and canon in the subject line.
→ Choose a scenario, or start your own!
→ Tag around!

Possible Scenarios:

1. New Arrival: You've just arrived on the island of Medietas, in the city of Aerilon, via a floating boat with people you may or may not know. Of course, you can't help wondering what the heck is going on, or how you even got on the boat in the first place. But as soon as the vessel docks you are greeted by some lovely locals who offer you a map and a communications device before leaving you to your own. You probably have questions and there seems to be a number of people there already who may or may not have those answers. Talk to them! Or, get on the network and introduce yourself!

2. Getting Settled: So, now that you've arrived and wandered around the starter home you've been given, it's time to check out the rest of the islands. There's a market on Aerilon that is full of treasures. Or, you can check out Chapter Six bookstore. Perhaps you wander over to the Mean Princess facility on Mulciber. There is so much to see!

3. Event: Teams are being put together to venture out deep into the islands of Eurus and Mulciber to track and destroy a vicious beast who has been the reason for the disappearances of several island locals. Please help stop the creature before anyone else goes missing!

4. Wild Card: Got something else in mind and want to create your own scenario? Go for it!

He says nothing for a moment while he starts to eat his food. He had been too focused on all three of them making it out in safety to worry about eating anything, and who knows how many hours have passed since then.

He's careful about what he says next, although it sounds too much like what Charles has been trying and failing to achieve for the last twenty years for him to agree with it straight out.

"How has that been working out? Humans and mutants coexisting?" He has an answer for that.

[personal profile] magneticxman 2016-11-06 11:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Lorna's nose wrinkles in annoyance and she looks down and begins to eat as well. Ass. Of course, that was to be expected, but that wasn't the point.

"It goes up and down. Only a few countries actively enslave us anymore, so that's an improvement."
frankensteinian: (over shoulder)

[personal profile] frankensteinian 2016-11-07 12:07 am (UTC)(link)
"Wouldn't it have been better if they hadn't been able to enslave anyone in the first place?" He's been abused and mistreated too much in the past to think that 'it's not happening to as many of us anymore' is much of an improvement.

[personal profile] magneticxman 2016-11-07 12:11 am (UTC)(link)
"I can't change the past. Only the future." She couldn't lose hope, either. It was all that kept her afloat anymore. "I won't ever argue that things are great at home, but I will never be convinced that they can't become better for everyone."
frankensteinian: (sunglasses)

[personal profile] frankensteinian 2016-11-07 12:24 am (UTC)(link)
"They're not all like your aunt and uncle, who treated you well in spite of what they saw as your oddities." In fact it's been his experience that the opposite is true. "What if someone's mind can't be changed? What would you suggest doing about them?"

[personal profile] magneticxman 2016-11-07 12:28 am (UTC)(link)
"change their children's minds. Change all the minds you can. Disempower the bastards, make them the minority. People are easily frightened, but a single person can be convinced to make the right call most of the time."

People had been mean to her, but she'd suffered the most at the hands of mutants who thought they knew best and had the right to impose their will. "People are more like my aunt and uncle than you'd think."

[personal profile] frankensteinian 2016-11-07 12:46 am (UTC)(link)
He puts his fork down and leans back in his chair. "I stood on a beach in Cuba while men from both sides of a conflict aimed their missiles at us for no reason other than that they were afraid of us and what we could do. There was no time for changing anyone's mind. What then?"

[personal profile] magneticxman 2016-11-07 12:51 am (UTC)(link)
"Missiles are covered in metal, I fail to see how that was remotely dangerous for you. Catch them and send them into the ocean. Not every situation has a good outcome, but not every situation has to turn out bad, either."

There was more to the story, she was sure, but it didn't matter. "There are very few situations where dealt force is necessary."
frankensteinian: (walking)

[personal profile] frankensteinian 2016-11-07 02:32 am (UTC)(link)
"Of course there was no real danger." That had been the humans' problem, when they decided on this plan. Apparently seeing a submarine pulled out of the water hadn't given them enough of an idea of why sending missiles wouldn't work the way they wanted it to.

It's apparent that they're not actually getting anywhere with this. He's not in a mood to argue it right now. He has no reason to trust humans, and plenty of reason not to. Anyone who thinks otherwise doesn't really have an idea of what he's been through.

"Your aunt and uncle, did they raise your siblings too?"

[personal profile] magneticxman 2016-11-07 02:36 am (UTC)(link)
Letting the subject go was fine with Lorna. She hasn't expected to gain any traction and it was exhausting to be on the defensive. "No. They were my father's children, but not my mother's. He didn't even know about them until years later. They were also raised by humans." Magical humans, but was close enough.
frankensteinian: (over shoulder)

[personal profile] frankensteinian 2016-11-07 02:49 am (UTC)(link)
"Your fa--" But wait. "You mean your stepfather, your mother's husband?" That doesn't make sense either though.

[personal profile] magneticxman 2016-11-07 03:04 am (UTC)(link)
"No. Your future children are all raised by humans. We all-" she stopped and shook her head. They all wanted peace in their own ways. "I don't know why the twins weren't raised by you and their mother, but I do know that they were raised by gypsies."
frankensteinian: (disbelief)

[personal profile] frankensteinian 2016-11-07 03:20 am (UTC)(link)
Well he did open this door. It's just that this is a lot to take in all in one day. "Twins? ...Gypsies?"

[personal profile] magneticxman 2016-11-07 04:15 am (UTC)(link)
"Yeah. Like, two kids at once, raised by people who travel as a way of life. I don't know if there are any more of us out there," but she assumed there were. "You got around, apparently."
frankensteinian: (over shoulder)

[personal profile] frankensteinian 2016-11-07 04:30 am (UTC)(link)
"I know what twins and gypsies are." That's not the issue here. "Who was their mother?"

[personal profile] magneticxman 2016-11-07 04:33 am (UTC)(link)
"I think her name was Magda? Something like that, anyway. I don't know much about it, the twins and I don't get along." Which was something of an understatement.
frankensteinian: (Default)

[personal profile] frankensteinian 2016-11-07 04:46 am (UTC)(link)
He doesn't respond to that. He doesn't want to think about another woman named Magda, now left behind in a forest in Poland, and who knows what will happen to her there?

It can't be any worse than what already happened to her.

"You know a lot about people you don't get along with."

[personal profile] magneticxman 2016-11-07 04:50 am (UTC)(link)
Lorna leaned in, like she was imparting a great secret. "It's because people are assholes. Or at least most people related to me are." To be fair, she was also quite capable of being an asshole.
frankensteinian: (Default)

[personal profile] frankensteinian 2016-11-07 04:58 am (UTC)(link)
"So who are these two?" Not that it's likely to mean anything to him. He's been disconnected from the mutant world for a decade, after all.

[personal profile] magneticxman 2016-11-07 05:01 am (UTC)(link)
"Pietro and Wanda. Pietro moves super fast and Wanda controls reality. Pietro also has a daughter who's human."

She shrugged. "This isn't even the weirdest mutant family tree."
frankensteinian: (sunglasses)

[personal profile] frankensteinian 2016-11-07 05:16 am (UTC)(link)
"Moves really fast, never stops talking?" Nothing else so far has been a coincidence; he'd guess this isn't either.

If only he'd had some idea then. Not that there's a reason to think anything would have been any different.

[personal profile] magneticxman 2016-11-07 05:20 am (UTC)(link)
"Complete pain in the ass? Yeah, that's him." Interesting that Pietro was the child he'd met. The two were a lot alike.
frankensteinian: (sunglasses)

[personal profile] frankensteinian 2016-11-07 05:35 am (UTC)(link)
"We've met." There must be a time aspect to all of this too. The kid he'd met was not old enough to have a kid of his own. At least not at that time. He'd never said anything about a sister, either, but it's not like they'd chatted about their lives or anything.

Now that all of that has been covered pretty well, he still has some other questions. "Your child. Her father. What of him?"

[personal profile] magneticxman 2016-11-07 04:26 pm (UTC)(link)
She'd had this conversation a couple times now, but it never got easier. She fidgeted in her seat and took a couple bites of her food. "He's not here," she said. It was the truth, regardless of who'd actually fathered her child.
frankensteinian: (walking)

[personal profile] frankensteinian 2016-11-07 07:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Well it had been a rather personal question to ask someone he's just met, even if that person is his...daughter.

"You said you've been here before?"
