T E S T   D R I V E   M E M E

Welcome to Medietas and our first ever Test Drive Meme! As we approach the grand opening of the game on April 1st, we thought we’d kick things off with a little something that will get you all interacting in the new setting! And it’s one less sample you have to worry about on your application if you’re considering our little game here.

You all know what to do but if you don’t, just follow the instructions and HAVE FUN!

How To Play:

→ Comment with the character you’d like to test drive. Don’t forget to add their name and canon in the subject line.
→ Choose a scenario, or start your own!
→ Tag around!

Possible Scenarios:

1. New Arrival: You’ve just arrived on the island of Medietas, in the city of Aerilon via a … floating boat, with people you may or may not know? You can’t help but ponder what’s going on here, but the vessel seems to be approaching a harbor and when it docks, some lovely locals are standing in wait to greet you. After that they hand you a map and communications device and invite you to find your accommodations and explore.

2. Party, party!: On the evening of your first night in the city, a party is being thrown on Aerilon in honor of your arrival. Eat, mingle, dance, meet the other new arrivals! The locals put on quite the celebration!

3. Go Exploring!: There's plenty of places to explore, be it in your designated housing area, or on one of the adjoining community islands! Hike the mountains in Eurus. Sit on the beaches of Imber with a cocktail, or go swimming. Adventure in the forests of Mundus. Be careful though! Every area has it's dangers.

4. The Bells Are Ringing!: And that means a islands wide warning that something dangerous is approaching! But where the heck are they coming from? Nevermind that, the caretakers rally the children and the senior citizens while Scykal, Imber's local sea monster, emerges from the large body of water on the island.  Interesting.  He hasn't been spotted in a long time.  Help the locals defeat him!

5. Wild Card!: Choose your own scenario!

It has been years since he's seen her but he recognizes her. It's Claire, Galen's lover, and she's someone he did consider a friend if not a close one. Galen, the second apprentice he'd failed. Damn.

"Claire? Where's Galen? When did you get here?"

Realizing that it's actually him and not some copy, that he actually knows her, feels like a little punch to the stomach for Claire. It leaves her just a little breathless even as she smiles at him. Or at least, she smiles until he mentions Galen.

She falters a bit. "I just got here today. As for Galen, I haven't seen him...in years."

If she'd been in her true form, Saphira would have been preening over his praise. In her opinion, she'd been the most creature in existence when she'd been a dragon. But now, now she was a human and a small one at that and Saphira was less than impressed with herself.

"I suppose there isn't much of a choice right now considering this is the form they brought me here as. They must be powerful magic users. Even more powerful than those from my land." She sighed and then rounded her shoulders, wishing that she could somehow look more majestic than she felt and probably looked with her hair in tangles. "My name is Saphira."

"I do not believe there are centaurs where I come from," Saphira admitted, though who knew, she knew there were places that even dragons had yet to go. Perhaps in some far off land there might be centaurs. Her eyebrows lifted in interest the more the centaur spoke. A shapeshifting centaur? That was indeed some magic to know.

And when she saw the shapeshifting for herself, she even gasped a little. Her nose quickly wrinkled and she looked over the new form with a slight shake of her head. "Why would you wish to look like a human though? Your true form was beautiful." She would never understand why humans seemed to be the center of anything. Outside of Eragon, humans weren't that impressive.

She shrugged, her gaze dropping to her feet and her distain for her form wasn't even hidden. "I don't have much of a choice. If I fall apart, I won't be able to search for Eragon. I don't suppose you've seen him. He's---" She cut herself off because she didn't even know how to describe him now that she was human. She could describe him perfectly as a dragon but he might look completely different to her now. "He is a young human male, though now he has some elvish features, slightly pointed ears, more graceful than a normal human might be."

She didn't know though, she couldn't feel him... But that didn't mean anything, perhaps they'd taken that ability to feel their bond when they turned her human.

"I am Saphira and I am a dragon, a mighty one at that."

Obi-Wan frowns at that. He had hoped if they went another place that they'd go together. Seeing her alone hits him like a physical blow.

"I'm sorry, Claire, truly. I know he cared greatly for you." That was an understatement, to be sure, but he is at a loss of what, exactly, to say. Dealing with loss is never easy.

"I'm glad to see you again, though, in spite of everything."

[The first thing that hits Obi-Wan when the girl approaches him is that she's Force sensitive. Not only that, she has enough of the Force in her that she could be a Jedi, for all it feels raw and untrained. He hasn't experienced that in so long that it staggers him for a moment and it takes him a while to get his bearings back.]

I am, yes. I think we all are, in some way or another, but some of us wear it better than others.

[Just as a test, he subtly waves his fingers and calls over a bit of fruit, plucking it from the air with ease.]

What system are you from?

It was the use of the Force that made Kanan stop dead in his tracks; it was how he felt It course in waves through the crowd, it was how it made the hair on the back of his neck raise. It has been forever, it seemed, since he had felt this life force in particular; in another life time, when he was younger, when he was eager to find a Master, when he had another name. When life made sense to him.

Old habits died hard, and Kanan mentally checked that his blaster was on his thigh, as well as his lightsaber attached in two pieces on his hips. Last time he had felt a Master, it had been a trap, and now that he was without his crew, without his family, there was no chances to take.

He turned around to the source of the Force, hearing the soft lilt of a voice he could now only hear through his holocron, and his jaw dropped when he saw Obi-Wan. The man hadn't changed a bit from what Kanan remembered of him. How was it that he aged fourteen years and the Master hadn't? This couldn't be the after life: Kanan was pretty damn sure he had gone to bed in the Ghost before he woke up on a floating boat.

Despite the fact that this might be a trap, like with Master Luminara, Kanan walked towards the bearded man, alert of his surroundings and yet, hoping that the man was real:

"Master Kenobi?"

Obi-Wan doesn't know the man but that in and of itself is not surprising. He's been both a Jedi Master and a General in recent years and both of those are high profile postings that mean a lot of people know his face even if he doesn't know theirs. This man in particular has the Force; Obi-Wan can feel it coursing through him and it's a good thing to feel after having been on Tatooine for so long.

"I'm sorry, I don't know you. Did we fight together in the war, possibly?"

Jon's heart broke at Sansa's words, and part of him was burning with anger. The Bolton bastard better never come up to the Wall, or else the Lord Commander would leave him to the wrights, or worse, to the spearwives. While Tyrion might have been a Lannister, Jon knew the dwarf enough to know that he probably treated Sansa decently, but that Ramsay caused her to wish for her death, after all that happened to their family, the man deserved to be flayed himself.

This time around, Jon could not let her be, and closed the distance between them before wrapping his arms around her small frame:

"I am sorry, Sansa. I am so sorry." Gods, if he had known, he would have left the Wall to get to her and Arya in King's Landing, no matter the consequences.

The skepticism about his father was something Jon was used to, ever since he could remember. After all, he was the only ink blot in his father's clean parchment.

"There is no doubt, my lady. I was raised in Winterfell alongside my father's trueborn children. I never knew who my mother was; my father never spoke of her."

All he knew, was that it wasn't Lady Stark. And it would seem that all physical features he retained was from his alleged father: the long face, the dark curls and the grey eyes. He was all North, all Stark but in name.

"Don't be. Someday, there will be vengeance. The North Remembers, Jon, and I am the North. He raped me and he flayed me and made me wish for death. He'll remember that when I order him flayed in front of an entire army, when I make him scream for death the way he made me scream."

She is steel now, so far from porcelain. So far from the gentle maid she used to be.

"I'll see it done. You'll help me, won't you?"

The term he used was unfamiliar to her but it sounded like a ship.

Unsettling was one thing. "I agree." she said looking back to the stranger. "TARDIS...? Is that a ship?" She asked with curiosity. She wondered what region he hailed from.

True indeed; Louise hadn't the first clue when it came to that contraption the Doctor took for his interstellar vehicle (though to him, it was much, MUCH more than that), so to that end, she hadn't thought much of it, or their journey to the islands.

"Yes," came the reply. "It's definitely one of the more inventive places the universe has decided to drop me into." It should have scared her how breezy and casual she was any more when it came to these things, but, well.

"What else is on your mind? I get the feeling you're hampered by more than just our immediate surroundings."

The blonde looked over at the newcomer who seemed as lost as her. So much for running into a local.

"Hello. Here?" she repeated and looked around to see nothing but foliage. "Can't say that I am. Nice vacation spot though, don't you think?" she asked thinking that perhaps this was better than Bad Wolf Bay.

"Yes, it is. Er, where did you come from before this?"

Rose raised an eyebrow at the name. The Doctor? But it wasn't her Doctor. The surprise however couldn't be erased from her face.

"You're clever," she said with a grin and nodded. No use in letting him in on it now. "How'd you come to that conclusion? Are you from there?"

"Close", she said keeping hold of her smile. She intended to keep him guessing.

"How about you?" she studied him more closely. The attire was nothing modern but she couldn't really place an exact time.

"A bit backwards, I reckon."

"Probably by your era's standards, but I find nothing wrong with it."

Privately, he'd been hoping that maybe the Doctor had known, that the TARDIS had come with them, at least. But apparently it hadn't, and he had to admit that the Doctor had a point - something that brought out a rueful grimace on his end.

"No, I suppose you couldn't have done."

Which meant that they were stuck here, for the foreseeable future, and with more questions than answers. Not that was anything new, but for once it'd be nice to have turned up somewhere without some sort of mystery.

"So why'd they bring us here then, Doctor? All I've gotten out of the natives is a map and that wee device thingy, and not much else. Unless you count them telling us to go find where we're to be be staying. Not very helpful, if you ask me."

Jon blinked at her speech, suddenly reminded how deep was the difference between the noblewomen of the realm and the spearwives he had been around too much: there were no needs to wait for introductions in the Wildling world, and while Jon belonged to the 'kneelers', sometimes the way the freefolk worked made more sense to him. With a small smile, he shook his head:

"There is no need to apologize, my lady. I am neither accustomed to the ways of this world." He stood a little bit straighter, and then bow his head lightly: "I am Jon Snow. The realm I was taken from is called Westeros, in which were the Seven Kingdoms. I come from the North, though I was stationed at the Wall." Perhaps this would make little sense to the young woman, but by the way she was speaking, he could sense that she was of noble birth, and that perhaps more information about the young man she was speaking to might interest her.

It seemed to Jon that time stopped when he heard his name yelled as such. Not because someone knew his name despite him being in a world he knew nothing about, but because the voice that hailed was one he cherished the most. Heart beating fast in his chest, he lowered his bow in time to be crashed upon by a girl with dirty dark hair and eyes grey like his own. His voice seemed to fail him for a long moment, bfore he could finally ask:

"Arya?"

He could barely believe it. The little sister he thought of the most at the Wall, the one he could not ever deny being of his blood, she was here, alive and well. And fighting the sea monster. Of course she was fighting the serpent-like creature, and Jon could not bare to see her hurt.

Dropping his bow, he hugged her back, tightly, before putting her down so they could move away from the fight.

"What are you doing here?" Women could fight, Ygritte had taught him that much (and much more, but that was not something Jon would lightly admit), but spearwives were trained to wield bows and axes, and Arya wasn't, at least to his knowledge.
starkbastard: (Lord Crow)

[personal profile] starkbastard 2016-03-28 01:52 am (UTC)(link)
Jon smiled, though he could not say if it was because the young woman had taken his offer, or the humor of her words. Surely it was the latter.

"Nay, I would not advise it. Lest you have hidden wings beneath your cloak."

He waited for her to stow away her map, before offering her his arm; he may have taken vows of celibacy, he still knew how to treat noblewomen. He was Lord Commander now, surely it was expected of him to act like a lord.

"And mine is Jon Snow," he offered with a curt nod of his head. News of the Mother of Dragons had yet to travel far North to the Wall, and Jon was not fazed by her name.

"Was there a place you were searching for in particular, my lady?" He knew little of the island, but perhaps he had seen what, whom or where she was seeking.

'Kanan, you beautiful idiot. Of course he doesn't know you...' After all, the last time Master Kenobi had seen him, he had been just another youngling at the Temple, just another face in the crowd of eager Force-sensitive kids. Even his name wasn't the same back then. It was stupid of him to think that Obi-wan might have remembered Caleb Dume.

Kanan shook his head: "Nah, I was too young to fight." A half-truth: at fourteen, he had been among the youngest Padawans to be allowed to follow their Masters in the Clone Wars.

"The war ended fourteen years ago," Kanan added as he crossed his arms over his chest. He was careful not to let seep through his thoughts his sadness and anger at losing his Master to Order 66, nor his fear of disappointing others that he ran away as ordered by Dipa, leaving his Master behind to die. Kanan knew that he couldn't hide the fact that he was Force-sensitive to a great Master like Kenobi, but years of hiding, of bouncing off planets and concealing his Force talents had made him an expert at hiding his true feelings.
