Welcome to Medietas and our first ever Test Drive Meme! As we approach the grand opening of the game on April 1st, we thought we’d kick things off with a little something that will get you all interacting in the new setting! And it’s one less sample you have to worry about on your application if you’re considering our little game here.

You all know what to do but if you don’t, just follow the instructions and HAVE FUN!

How To Play:

→ Comment with the character you’d like to test drive. Don’t forget to add their name and canon in the subject line.
→ Choose a scenario, or start your own!
→ Tag around!

Possible Scenarios:

1. New Arrival: You’ve just arrived on the island of Medietas, in the city of Aerilon via a … floating boat, with people you may or may not know? You can’t help but ponder what’s going on here, but the vessel seems to be approaching a harbor and when it docks, some lovely locals are standing in wait to greet you. After that they hand you a map and communications device and invite you to find your accommodations and explore.

2. Party, party!: On the evening of your first night in the city, a party is being thrown on Aerilon in honor of your arrival. Eat, mingle, dance, meet the other new arrivals! The locals put on quite the celebration!

3. Go Exploring!: There's plenty of places to explore, be it in your designated housing area, or on one of the adjoining community islands! Hike the mountains in Eurus. Sit on the beaches of Imber with a cocktail, or go swimming. Adventure in the forests of Mundus. Be careful though! Every area has it's dangers.

4. The Bells Are Ringing!: And that means a islands wide warning that something dangerous is approaching! But where the heck are they coming from? Nevermind that, the caretakers rally the children and the senior citizens while Scykal, Imber's local sea monster, emerges from the large body of water on the island.  Interesting.  He hasn't been spotted in a long time.  Help the locals defeat him!

5. Wild Card!: Choose your own scenario!

Obi-Wan Kenobi | Canon + CRAU | Party

[personal profile] only_hope 2016-03-27 02:26 am (UTC)(link)
Obi-Wan has always loved the idea of parties in theory, if not in practice. He likes sensing others around him even if he is, in fact, sometimes terrible at small talk but this party is better than most. He's content to nurse his drink in a corner, hood thrown back and smile flashing bright to those who might acknowledge him.

He sees a table teetering dangerously after someone crashes into it and holds out a hand, stabilizing it with the Force.

"Careful, now. Wouldn't want to waste all those drinks, would you?"

Claire was half paying attention to the crowd, drifting along the edges, when she heard the sound of someone crashing into something and the sound of a voice that was vaguely familiar. Pausing, she blinked as she scanned the crowd and then stopped at the sight of someone she knew. Not as closely as Galen had known but...

"Obi-Wan?" Her voice was soft and hesitant.

It has been years since he's seen her but he recognizes her. It's Claire, Galen's lover, and she's someone he did consider a friend if not a close one. Galen, the second apprentice he'd failed. Damn.

"Claire? Where's Galen? When did you get here?"

guessihavelostcount: (48. 'oh crap' realization)

[personal profile] guessihavelostcount 2016-03-27 04:36 am (UTC)(link)
Realizing that it's actually him and not some copy, that he actually knows her, feels like a little punch to the stomach for Claire. It leaves her just a little breathless even as she smiles at him. Or at least, she smiles until he mentions Galen.

She falters a bit. "I just got here today. As for Galen, I haven't seen him...in years."

Obi-Wan frowns at that. He had hoped if they went another place that they'd go together. Seeing her alone hits him like a physical blow.

"I'm sorry, Claire, truly. I know he cared greatly for you." That was an understatement, to be sure, but he is at a loss of what, exactly, to say. Dealing with loss is never easy.

"I'm glad to see you again, though, in spite of everything."
guessihavelostcount: (61. start of a smile)

[personal profile] guessihavelostcount 2016-03-28 06:06 am (UTC)(link)
Truthfully, she had hoped the same thing. She had even convinced herself that it might actually happen, that she might get to go with him to his world or that he could come with her to hers, but it hadn't happened. It had felt like losing herself when she had lost him but she learned to live too.

"I know he did." She murmured softly, unable to deny the pang she felt. "I loved him too."

Swallowing thickly, she pushes down the emotions as she looks up at Obi-Wan and smiles again. This part is easier because it's always good to be reunited with people. "I'm glad to see you too. You have no idea how glad."

"I think he would be glad I was here...that we're here together to keep watch over one another."

Obi-Wan had become excessively good at watching and waiting and this was no different than the time he'd spent watching over Anakin's son.

"We can take care of one another."

Hearing that he thought Galen would be glad that Obi-Wan was here, and that they could take care of each other, caused Claire's throat to tighten with a surge of emotion. She believed him, of course. She knew without a doubt that Galen would be relieved to know that his trusted mentor was there to watch over her but also for an entirely different reason.

"We can." She nodded, reaching out to touch his arm with a gentle squeeze. "But first, I should show you something."

Turning, she looked over to where a little boy was sitting on a chair against the wall. He was sitting with his legs crossed on his seat, his hands resting lightly on his knees as he watched everyone with a quiet expression. His hair was a soft sandy brown and his eyes were nearly a definite match (maybe just a shade or two darker) for her own but the quiet demeanor? The look on his face? Nearly everything else about him? Definitely all belonged to his father.

"We named him Ben." She murmured softly, looking over at Obi-Wan.

The boy was young but he could see Galen in him all the same, in the tilt of his chin and the way he carried himself. He was certainly his father's son, even if it was more subtle than Claire's features stamped across the boy's face.

"Ben," Obi-Wan said softly, touched that they would choose that name for their child even though he'd disappeared before ever meeting him. "Claire, I'm honored. I could never be more honored than this."

"You meant a lot to Galen." She murmured with a soft fond smile as she watched her son. "And, by extension, to me too."

"His full name is Benjamin Noah Marek." She nodded, thinking again that maybe she should have changed his last name to her own but she wanted him to have Galen's last name. Another part of his father since he would never likely see him again.

"It's a strong name," Obi-Wan said, voice tight with emotion. It was difficult to think of his apprentice, to think he failed him, but this...this was no failure. This was a success.

"Did he continue his use of the Force after I left? I would hate to think he put it aside even though I wasn't there to guide him through the trials."

guessihavelostcount: (31. pleased smile)

[personal profile] guessihavelostcount 2016-03-29 10:33 pm (UTC)(link)
She looked pleased to hear that he thought the bane was a strong one and she found herself nodding in agreement.

"He did, all the time." She answered with a nod, watching Obi-Wan again. "He got better too. He seemed happier and more settled near the end before he disappeared. I just hope it was enough for him to survive whatever it was that he went back to. I still hope that every day."

"I didn't want to fail him," Obi-Wan admitted. "I'd failed my first apprentice and I felt I owed it to Galen not to fail him when Anakin had failed him. I wanted...I wanted him to have a true Jedi master to learn from. I wanted to help him as much as I wanted to assuage my own guilt. I am glad he learned from it, grew, was happy. It's all I ever wanted for him."

guessihavelostcount: (53. touched by their actions)

[personal profile] guessihavelostcount 2016-03-29 11:28 pm (UTC)(link)
"I don't think you failed him one bit. I think it was hard when you were gone but he seemed determined to make you proud of him. It meant a lot that you saw something good in him. Something worth helping." It was the same thing she had seen. It was another part that had caused her to fall in love with Galen.

"Perhaps you could help Ben?" She murmured softly. "I was always worried that he wouldn't have someone but...maybe now."

[personal profile] only_hope 2016-03-30 02:20 am (UTC)(link)
"Of course I'll help him," Obi-Wan said. "I couldn't do anything else, Claire. I'll help you both with anything you need."

If he could help Galen's son, it would be almost like being able to finish his apprenticeship, see him become a full Jedi. It would be the right thing to do.

It was the use of the Force that made Kanan stop dead in his tracks; it was how he felt It course in waves through the crowd, it was how it made the hair on the back of his neck raise. It has been forever, it seemed, since he had felt this life force in particular; in another life time, when he was younger, when he was eager to find a Master, when he had another name. When life made sense to him.

Old habits died hard, and Kanan mentally checked that his blaster was on his thigh, as well as his lightsaber attached in two pieces on his hips. Last time he had felt a Master, it had been a trap, and now that he was without his crew, without his family, there was no chances to take.

He turned around to the source of the Force, hearing the soft lilt of a voice he could now only hear through his holocron, and his jaw dropped when he saw Obi-Wan. The man hadn't changed a bit from what Kanan remembered of him. How was it that he aged fourteen years and the Master hadn't? This couldn't be the after life: Kanan was pretty damn sure he had gone to bed in the Ghost before he woke up on a floating boat.

Despite the fact that this might be a trap, like with Master Luminara, Kanan walked towards the bearded man, alert of his surroundings and yet, hoping that the man was real:

"Master Kenobi?"

Obi-Wan doesn't know the man but that in and of itself is not surprising. He's been both a Jedi Master and a General in recent years and both of those are high profile postings that mean a lot of people know his face even if he doesn't know theirs. This man in particular has the Force; Obi-Wan can feel it coursing through him and it's a good thing to feel after having been on Tatooine for so long.

"I'm sorry, I don't know you. Did we fight together in the war, possibly?"

cowboyjedi: (I'm listening)

[personal profile] cowboyjedi 2016-03-28 02:16 am (UTC)(link)
'Kanan, you beautiful idiot. Of course he doesn't know you...' After all, the last time Master Kenobi had seen him, he had been just another youngling at the Temple, just another face in the crowd of eager Force-sensitive kids. Even his name wasn't the same back then. It was stupid of him to think that Obi-wan might have remembered Caleb Dume.

Kanan shook his head: "Nah, I was too young to fight." A half-truth: at fourteen, he had been among the youngest Padawans to be allowed to follow their Masters in the Clone Wars.

"The war ended fourteen years ago," Kanan added as he crossed his arms over his chest. He was careful not to let seep through his thoughts his sadness and anger at losing his Master to Order 66, nor his fear of disappointing others that he ran away as ordered by Dipa, leaving his Master behind to die. Kanan knew that he couldn't hide the fact that he was Force-sensitive to a great Master like Kenobi, but years of hiding, of bouncing off planets and concealing his Force talents had made him an expert at hiding his true feelings.

"Has it been that long? I don't think so," Obi-Wan said, thinking about when he'd first left his home and gone to Tatooine and then, later, to the village where he'd trained Galen.

"Perhaps it has been. I lose track, after so many years. It's been a long time since I've had the good fortune to meet another strong in the Force, though, and I feel it in you. You have some talent, then? Were you ever trained?"
cowboyjedi: (FML)

[personal profile] cowboyjedi 2016-03-30 02:12 am (UTC)(link)
It was hard for Kanan to hear the Master brush so easily the time since the war had ended. That time, until he was found--saved perhaps even--by Hera, had been the hardest in his life. The loneliness, the restlessness, the anger, the sadness, no matter how hard he had tried to shed it all, it had never left him. He had to forsake all he had ever learned, the way of the Force, in order to survive, and here the older man was speaking as if none of the Jedi's demise had fazed him.

"Maybe it's because there's so few of us left." The dry reply left his lips before Kanan could really think of it. Perhaps this was the difference between him and Obi-Wan: he was quick to judge the man, and unable to reign in his emotions, his bitterness mostly.

Frustrated with himself more than anything else, Kanan ran a hand over his face:

"I'm sorry. Most Force-sensitive adults have been killed in the years following Order 66. And kids are taken away by the Empire, and they are either never seen again, or turned to the Dark Side." And turned into Inquisitors who hunts the remaining of the Jedis. Kanan had killed one, but with the discovery of a Sith Lord, he had no doubts that more would come after him and Ezra.

"I know about Order 66," Obi-Wan said darkly. "I lost my dearest friends to Order 66. My own apprentice had a hand in it. Everyone knows who my apprentice was."

It was hardly fair to this young man, though, who had done nothing wrong. He gave him a tired smile.

"I'm sorry. You've simply touched a nerve."
cowboyjedi: (Thinking)

[personal profile] cowboyjedi 2016-04-01 01:46 am (UTC)(link)
"I'm sorry," offered Kanan, not really knowing what else could be said. He couldn't imagine Ezra turning to the Dark Side, even if it was a constant fear for any Master. He wanted to believe that the boy was good, that he would grow to be fair and to with in the ways of the Force, unlike him. But their time was a dangerous time, and war changed everyone, he knew that too well.

Shaking his head, Kanan returned an equally tired smile as he sat down on the empty chair at Obi-Wan's table:

"I'm pretty sure it's a sensitive subject to that lived through it." And more so to those that survived the order. Perhaps it was time for a change of subject:

"I've been to a few systems before, but I didn't even know this one existed. My transponder doesn't even work, I can't contact my crew. You wouldn't know where is the closest spaceport on this planet. I should get back to my crew before they do something stupid," he said the last part with a small amused smile. Clearly, he was the one that usually got into trouble.
