Welcome to Medietas! Are you interested in joining the game? Do you have an old muse you want to dust off? Are you looking for a place to voice test a brand new character and would like to do so in our little island setting? Well, you've come to the right place!
You all know what to do but if you don’t, just follow the instructions and HAVE FUN!
How To Play:
→ Comment with the character you’d like to test drive. Don’t forget to add their name and canon in the subject line.
→ Choose a scenario, or start your own!
→ Tag around!
Possible Scenarios:
1. New Arrival: You have just arrived on the island of Medietas, in the city of Aerilon via a floating boat with people you may or may not know. Of course, you can't help wondering what the heck is going on here, or how you even got on the boat in the first place. But as soon as the vessel docks you are greeted by some lovely locals who offer you a map and a communications device before leaving you to your own. You probably have questions and there seems to be a number of people there already who may or may not have those answers. Talk to them! Or, get on the network and introduce yourself!
2. Getting Settled: So, you've arrived, but now there's five islands you should get yourself acquainted with. Meet your starter home neighbors! Start your new job! Check out the market on Aerilon!
3. Event: The Faire's in town! Feast, socialize, dance, play games! There's plenty to do and the grounds on Mundus are packed with festivities for all to enjoy.
4. Wild Card: Got something else in mind and want to create your own scenario? Go for it!
Thor } MCU } 2
Something was grounding him here, something he didn't quite understand, and it was puzzling to him. Also puzzling was the thought that he would have to obtain and sustain some sort of employment, earn his keep, and that was something that he'd never done as the son of Odin.
At the moment, he was attempting to follow the recipe for one of the elaborate coffee drinks at the coffeehouse and failing at it. First, he forgot the vanilla, then the cream. In frustration, he gripped the handle of a mug too tightly and it shattered in his hand.
"I am the son of Odin! Why should I have to toil in such a menial way? I am no thrall, no mere human!"
While it seemed logical to him, his employer did not see it the same way and after words were exchanged, Thor took his leave of the place. So much for that.
/shhhh
"Thor? What are you doing here? Well, never mind about what, when did you show up?"
Re: /shhhh
Seeing her always struck his heart. Perhaps it was unwise, to have such a weakness, but Thor had a fondness for Midgard that rested solely on the shoulders of Jane Foster. He would do anything to protect her. He would do anything to make her happy. Seeing her now brought a smile to his lips and a light to his eyes that hadn't been there since he first arrived on this damned island.
"Jane," he said, his lips turning up in a broad smile. It only took two steps to close the distance between them, two heartbeats to lift her up into his arms. The job could wait.

"Hi."

"When did you arrive? How did you get here?" Thor had come on the boats and it had felt, for all the world, like Valhalla. He had thought that surely he must have died and yet, he lived. He lived because of her and the light she brought to his life. Without her, he was a warrior without aim.
"The boats? I didn't see you when I came in."

There was a time when she would have insisted that Odin was just a story. Now, hearing someone claim to be his son is just a thing that happens.
"I think your problem is that Odin has no authority here."
no subject
Thor snorted dismissively and shook his head. "Odin has authority even in Midgard. I don't know which of the nine realms this place is but surely the All-Father has power here. He has power everywhere."
There were certain things that Thor refused to believe. One of those things, one of the inevitable truths that he kept close to his chest, was the power of Odin. Even when they butted heads, Odin had proven loyal and powerful to both his family and his people. There was no way there was a world he hadn't touched in some way.
no subject
"Besides, power and authority are two different things."
no subject
"And who is the authority in this place?"

Bruce is post Thor Ragnarok just so you know he has been to Asgard
Re: Bruce is post Thor Ragnarok just so you know he has been to Asgard
"It seems this world is not equipped to employ me in a manner which I find acceptable."
Re: Bruce is post Thor Ragnarok just so you know he has been to Asgard
"That's the wonderful thing about working," Bruce said, "you can change your job any time you want." He smiles. "humans do it all the time. I'm one of the lucky ones who found work he loved on the first try."
Re: Bruce is post Thor Ragnarok just so you know he has been to Asgard
"I am no scientist. Jane is, yes, but she has had years of schooling. I am only good at fighting and championing those who need a champion. I don't know what manner to seek employment for that."

Here, however, there seemed to be no need for the Avengers.

"I presume that's where I am, considering all the humans around."

"Ah.. pardon the intrusion into your affairs, but I couldn't help notice you seem.... ill at ease."
He smiled politely and amiably, keeping his demeanor calm and reassuring. Notably, he wore a sword at his hip, and the style of his clothes were somewhat nearer Asgardian than modern Midgardian, if relatively simple; also notably, he showed no sign of aggression, or of fear, in spite of the outburst, although he was certainly watchful.
"My name is Alric, of House Caelegart. Many who have come here, including noblemen, royalty, and even a king or two, have found it... uniquely challenging to adapt to circumstances, here. If I can be of any assistance, it would surely be an honor."
no subject
"It is my role as a warrior that makes the task so difficult."
no subject
"Ah- I beg your pardon for my ignorance, then, Your Highness. I certainly meant no offense--only to reassure you that others have had such difficulties, as well."
He pauses a moment, giving Thor a contemplative look.
"Perhaps a more... active occupation would suit you better. For example: there are a number of guests, such as ourselves, beginning to settle down--there may therefore be demand for work in construction. Not the same as soldiering, certainly, but I can assuredly sympathize with the need to remain active."

But Thor was new, so Henry followed and waited for the God to calm down before introducing himself.
"Hi there." He gave a short wave, very awkwardly. "You seem troubled, friend." Then, just to be sure. "You're Thor, right?"
no subject
"I presume you hail from Midgard, then, since you recognize me?"
Re: Thor } MCU } 2
Such a small girl to ask such a loaded question: Sinthia was standing neatly in the way in clothes (too precisely coordinated to have been truly chosen by any normal child) all in shades of mint and gray, dark hair covered in a sparkling beret.
"The son of Odin."
Re: Thor } MCU } 2
"You know of Asgard, then?"
Re: Thor } MCU } 2
"I have a necklace of Mjollnir, I know all the stories." She digs it out on the thin steel chain looped around her neck, and sure enough it's stylized but it does resemble a hammer covered in runes.
