Welcome to Medietas! Are you interested in joining the game? Do you have an old muse you want to dust off? Are you looking for a place to voice test a brand new character and would like to do so in our little island setting? Well, you've come to the right place!
You all know what to do but if you don’t, just follow the instructions and HAVE FUN!
How To Play:
→ Comment with the character you’d like to test drive. Don’t forget to add their name and canon in the subject line.
→ Choose a scenario, or start your own!
→ Tag around!
Possible Scenarios:
1. New Arrival: You have just arrived on the island of Medietas, in the city of Aerilon via a floating boat with people you may or may not know. Of course, you can't help wondering what the heck is going on here, or how you even got on the boat in the first place. But as soon as the vessel docks you are greeted by some lovely locals who offer you a map and a communications device before leaving you to your own. You probably have questions and there seems to be a number of people there already who may or may not have those answers. Talk to them! Or, get on the network and introduce yourself!
2. Getting Settled: So, you've arrived, but now there's five islands you should get yourself acquainted with. Meet your starter home neighbors! Start your new job! Check out the market on Aerilon!
3. Event: The Faire's in town! Feast, socialize, dance, play games! There's plenty to do and the grounds on Mundus are packed with festivities for all to enjoy.
4. Wild Card: Got something else in mind and want to create your own scenario? Go for it!
Devi D | I Feel Sick
Devi stood at the docks, map and communicator in hand and stared dumbly at the sprawling city in front of her. There was no way she was here. This was a dream, right? A nightmare? A coma? Maybe she'd hit up that crackhead a few apartment doors down and OD'd. Maybe Sickness had driven her insane in retaliation. That was possible.
Dropping down to one knee, the young, purple haired girl pulled off her backpack and started hastily going through it.
"No, no no no.. FUCK." Sitting back on her heel, Devi sighed behind a blank expression. "Points for creativity. At least it's fuckin' new."
Event
Fairs were alright, generally speaking, so long as they were lit and happy though Devi was glad to not see any clowns and she'd already found the funnel cake stand. Sated by sugary goodness, the artist wandered around until she found herself in front of a dance floor. Well, she did like clubs and this wasn't exactly the same thing.
Still, it was music, so she found a tree to sit underneath and watch while she destroyed the deep-fried sacrifice. Insanity made for a great snacking experience. She was almost impressed at how well her mind was generating the sensations and since she hadn't found a way out or a way to convince her stomach it wasn't empty, she'd have to go with it.
It was pretty, for now, but Devi was waiting for the boot of Doom and Horror to drop. It always did.
Re: Devi D | I Feel Sick
And Harry? Well, he was grinning at this new arrival.
"It's annoying, interruptingly irritating, and quite exasperating, but here we are."
no subject
Sure, of course it was hovering, why not.
Devi frowned a little.
"I'm sorry. Did you say 'kidnapping'?" Was the the idea Sickness was going with? All the better to trap her in her coma nightmare?
no subject
"So far, no efforts to go home have been successful."
no subject
Pushing to her feet, she shoved the communicator into the backpack and stood up.
"Hover bike is a really cool effect, so A+ for effort on that." With all the animation she put in her tone, she could be talking about the dullest sport in the world. Golf.
no subject
He let the bike sink to the ground and stared at her. "So what do your delusions usually tell you?"
no subject
"Especially with that 'Powers that be' shit. The only 'Powers that be' turned out to be a bullshit doll." She glanced around, before looking back at him. "Is there a noodle shop?"
There was the possibility of this situation having it's perks.

Until a guy is heard screaming and dashing through people like he's running for his life. And he is running to save himself.
From a little, seemingly unthreatening Pomerianian.
"LOOK OUT. EXCUSE ME. COMING THROUGH. KILLER VAMPIRE DOG ON THE LOOSE."
Not far behind the man bounds the dog, barking and growling as he chases after King.
no subject
"HEY!" she yelled as she fell back, glancing just in time to catch the little Pomeranian as it tried to vault over her legs. It snarled at her viciously and Devi held it out from her like it was dripping acid.
"It's like Bunnicula got ripped on steroids and hopped species," she comments softly to herself, glancing around helplessly. What the fuck was she supposed to do now? Didn't this thing have an owner? What'd the other guy do to piss it off? Could he take the thing back?
Devi had a lot of questions.
(new arrival)
Admittedly, Adam didn't usually go by the docks - he wasn't sure that anyone he actually knew was going to show up, and he didn't want to disappoint himself - but he'd taken a shortcut that day. The girl's expletives were enough to catch his attention, reminding him starkly of Ronan.
And so, he'd changed course, biking over and pulling a hasty stop at her side.
no subject
"Yeah, but it's not like change on the sidewalk - There's no finding my sanity... or the two little paint covered screws I'm looking for." Shoving the map and communicator into the bag, Devi stood to her full 5'9 and hoisted the backpack over her shoulder. "And a door. Preferably one with a handicap line I can jump to wake up."
no subject
Her response - lengthy and a bit demanding as it was - got a laugh out of him, and a faint smirk quirking his lips upwards. "Wow. You've got a list there. Already, too. Too bad getting back on the boat isn't really an option, otherwise you definitely wouldn't be alone. There are plenty who'd agree." He was still torn, really. And only a couple of inches taller than her, though he was slouching a bit.
no subject
"Lists make sense. This place doesn't." She frowned. "Are you one of the plenty?"
no subject
"I'm torn," Adam admitted. "You've got that one thing right, though - lists make way more sense than this place. But on the other hand, it's not so bad here that you can't dig into some of what makes it tick. Not that I've gotten far with it."
no subject
"Do they even have slushies here? Can we.. I dunno, swim back?"

This place is far stranger than she'd thought the Underworld to be, and she's beginning to think the gods are playing at something.
[ooc: hover for translation! Further conversation will be typed in English.]
no subject
Ok, no - the creature in front of her wasn't monstrous and by the look on her face, probably not hungry enough to eat Devi's face. There was something in the back of her head cackling.
Devi, face wide in surprise, came back with the most intelligent thing she could muster.
"Huh?"
no subject
"I did not intend to startle you," she apologises with sweet sincerity in Greek. A graceful hand abandons her device to offer assistance to the girl she's inadvertently hurt. "Allow me to help you rise, for I think we are both lost, here."
The nymph doesn't yet know she's not in the Underworld, or that her words will likely not be understood.
no subject
As it was, the woman wasn't angry or abrasive in her tone, both of which the artist instinctively expected, and the extended hand was considered with a wary look before she slipped her ink stained fingers into the woman's grasp and let herself be helped back to her feet.
"Thanks." Adjusting her black leather trench coat, and pretending like she hadn't been startled onto her ass, Devi glanced over the woman. "I don't suppose asking what it is your speaking is going to get me much of anywhere? Unless you speak English?"
Because that was definitely neither Spanish or English, and only one of those Devi could speak well.
no subject
Mild confusion darkens her expression somewhat when a language she doesn't know falls from Hyacinth's lips, and she shakes her head in response to a question she's only assuming was asked.
"I do not understand your words," she says slowly and regretfully, gesturing to Hyacinth's mouth and then to her own ear. "The gods of Olympus only gave me the tongue of the Greeks, for it is where I live." Oh, except no. She corrects herself. "Lived."

New Arrival
"Excuse me, but, you were on the boat that just came as well, correct?" His voice had a foreign accent, something akin to eastern Europe.... though he kind of sounded like Dracula if one was truely paying attention. "I myself, just arrived as well." He knew damn well she was on the boat, he saw her.
no subject
"Were any of us really on the boat?" she asked, before shaking her head. "I guess I was. I'm still trying to decide if I'm dead, been drugged, or just finally fuckin' snapped." She squinted at the hoodie.
"You dressed up as the Unibomber or something?"
no subject
"As long as you do not start singing that Lonely Island song, I would say, we were most definitely on a boat." He retorted in his heavy accent.
"No, and that's one i haven't heard in a long while." He actually chuckled. "My trench coat was destroyed in a brawl... I do not like the sun on my skin." He explained like trench coats are normal.
"We are neither dead, trust me. I'm a doctor I can tell." More he can hear that lovely heart pumping just fine... he almost could guess she doesn't smoke cigarettes either, he could be wrong but he has just met the girl.
no subject
Considering she was also wearing a trenchcoat, she would be the last one to judge.
"Vampires, unite," she continues ironically, not knowing how close to the truth she was. She didn't see the light of day - Tenna had called her a vampire more then once. The second time, bits of garlic were shoved up Devi's nose and she couldn't smell anything else for 2 days.
"So it's back to drugged hallucinations or insanity. Good. I love options," she finished with a deadpan expression.
no subject
To bad she couldn't see his eyes widen. Shit was there blood on his face! He reached down and pulled a pair of sunglasses from the hoodie and slipped them on before offering his pale hand down to help her up if she wanted it. He had long clear nails, like someone went to the nail salon, but nope those babies are natural. "Umm, yes something like that i suppose. I simply have sensitive skin and eyes, it makes such a lifestyle easier." He played it off. He actually liked garlic.
"Or another option, alternating realities overlapping. Quantum physics is not my field however."
