Welcome to Medietas! Are you interested in joining the game? Have an old muse you want to dust off, or voice test a brand new one in our game setting? Then you've come to the right place!

You all know what to do but if you don’t, just follow the instructions and HAVE FUN!

How To Play:

→ Comment with the character you’d like to test drive. Don’t forget to add their name and canon in the subject line.
→ Choose a scenario, or start your own!
→ Tag around!

Possible Scenarios:

1. New Arrival: You've just arrived on the island of Medietas, in the city of Aerilon via a floating boat, with people you may or may not know. Of course, you can't help wondering what the heck is going on here, or how you even got on the boat, but the vessel seems to be approaching a harbor with what appears to be.. are those floating islands? They sure are! And as if that isn't mind boggling enough, no one seems to have answers. But you are greeted by some lovely locals who offer you a map and a communications device and send you on your way. Perhaps the questions can wait for now. There's a new place to explore!

2. Go Exploring!: There's plenty of places to see, be it in your designated housing area, or on one of the adjoining community islands! Visit the market on Aerilon. Hike the mountains in Eurus. Sit on the beaches of Imber with a cocktail. Adventure in the forests of Mundus. Be careful though! Every area has it's dangers.

3. Party, party!: On the evening of your first night in the city, a party is being thrown on Aerilon in honor of your arrival. Eat, mingle, dance, meet the other new arrivals! The locals put on quite the celebration!

4. Wild Card! Customize your own scenario to fit your needs!

"You can take them off again, after? Maybe think of it like...uhm ... wearing camouflage when entering unknown territory? You wear something, sometimes even a form, that makes you inconspicuous, up until you know everything you need to know." He paused.

"Or am I totally getting my military facts wrong. I tried to listen to everything you all said, back then." But there had been explosions and lasers and giant mechabirds...

Either or. Adam's not complaining, whichever it is, but he'll be the first to offer her the credit. She is a charming one, after all, though he imagines she comes by it pretty naturally.

"I do what I can," he answers mildly, inclining his head slightly to one side. He might not have heaps of experience in this category, but he knows that politeness probably goes a long way. That and nice smiles.

"Adam Parrish. Nice to meet you." With that, he lifts his glass to her in a sort of toast.

"Oh, well that isn't hard. My knowledge of geography just about covers Maine and a few square miles of Korea." He says dryly, going back for another sip of his drink.

"My guess is you've been here a while? Got settled down, know where things are, have a few friends?" Hawkeye continues, "So you might like to take a nice, lost doctor under your wing, help him until the US Army hauls him back for the rest of the War. They don't like you to leave early once you've bought a ticket."

Beerune | OC | 2

[personal profile] paladinholylawyer 2016-05-22 07:58 am (UTC)(link)
Forests aren't something Beerune is used to, the Republic of Atrella is a sunny hot place, filled with scrub land, rocks, and golden-white beaches. On one hand it's the size of the trees and the greenery they held that drew her in, initially she'd been on the search for the presents of a deity. She couldn't feel her usual connection to the Goddess Sheem. However as the days passed she felt it less and less likely she would find a temple to Sheem on these this odd floating islands. Still, she can't resist her nature, and what was encouraged by her adherent's life: investigation, the truth always the truth, leading to understanding then to compassion.

Her wide-legged high waist-ed soft trousers don't hinder her movement in anyway, but they make traversing the undergrowth of the forest a fits and starts process. Beerune has to stop every few yards to untangle the flowing material from brush or thorns, she does have a little more luck though as what had been a deer track widens into a walking path. As she begins to pick up pace her breath catches as her peripheral vision catches movement in the tree boughs of to her side.

For a moment she can only hear bird song and the soft sound of the breeze through the boughs. She stays rooted feeling and vaguely hearing her heartbeat. She shifts her satchel strap on her shoulder the light material of her burgundy top with it's flared sleeves, doesn't feel warm enough in the shade of the forest, but also it's the light sheen of sweat she's feeling on her skin.

"Hello? Who is there? I mean no harm I'm looking for..."

Really at this point she's not even sure if she's still looking for a temple, or if the novelty of the forest has just proven too much.

"I'm new to this place, I don't mean to intrude if I've done so."

She searches the canopy of the forest, her eyes are sea-green color intelligent in clarity, in emotion kind and open.

"Hello?"

Tyleet had been learning human language, or trying to, sure that understanding would help end the constant war between the races. Still, this round ear was speaking but her words sounded more lilting. Had this human come to learn to speak as an Elf? Her eyes widening in surprise at the concept, she took a small delicate jump off of her wolf's back, and moved soundlessly through the branches, drawing closer. She landed finally on a branch just up and to the side a bit from the human, stirring not a single leaf.

Her feet rested on the branch with the heels only touching it, toes open to nothing, her hands before her heels as she leaned forward, so that all that could be seen of her was her large eyes, framed not by her fiery fox like mane, but by the leaves around her. She gave a small whistle to get the other's attention. She still wasn't sure what to make of this roundear who could speak as they could, but she saw it as hope. A chance.

Strongbow would want to gut her for this, but Cutter's rules did say "in the trees as you please" and she most certainly was in the trees. So she very well would do as she pleased, thank you very much.

Beerune's large milky colored braid skipped over her shoulder with her jerk of movement as she looked in Tyleet's direction. She blinked Tyleet had beautiful autumnal colored eyes her features weren't human? but she was captivatingly beautiful. Beerune had to blink and swallow before she could try a greeting. Being followed and unknowingly was this had her heart pounding after whose how long the Gray Officers had been tailing her, but that was back home in Artella, not in this wondrous floating Medietas.

"Oh, hello. My name is Beerune-- I'm an adherent of the Goddess Sheem of Protective Justice. I hope I'm not distrubing your peace?"

Goddess. Like the god Gothra? The thought sent whitecold through her blood. Still, the words were spoken peacefully enough, though she was sure the tall one had not yet seen that her ears were pointed like a wolf's, or that her fingers numbered four on each hand. She would be cautious, but she would take this chance. Especially as this tall one somehow knew their words, their lilting speech, though there was something slightly odd about how she spoke it.

"I do not know of any such Goddess," she said, simply, hoping that would suffice. "If in peace you do come, you are not disturbing mine," she added. She had tried to sound like the humans she observed, but it had just come out sounding awkward. Puckernuts. Maybe it would be better if she just was herself. High Ones knew that had always been a good answer for her in the past.

Listening to the girl was an education. She was maybe ten years younger than Hawke, and swore worse than any of the regular soldiers he'd ever met. Most of the navy didn't swear so much, if he was being honest about it. Still, it didn't offend him, it was just one of those quirks of speech, he guessed. He was going to start doing it to see how many words she could get through before cursing again.

"I was thinking about my dad." Hawkeye said, having taken a moment to collect himself. "And the people back home. Do they think I'm dead? Again? Are they looking for me?" He pushes his hand through his mop of dark hair, not really talking to her, more at her. "Look, I know this is all new to you too but I get the feeling where you came from wasn't much fun. I mean, I came from the middle of a war so maybe I'm the one that's nuts, but I'd like to find someone around here that can tell me where here is, and how I can get out of it!"

Hanging around the dock when the boat docks to see who the new arrivals are is a new tactic for Balthazar. There seems to be a lot of people coming here from back home, and this seems like a good way to avoid surprises, both pleasant and unpleasant, creeping up on him.

Today, though, there's no one he knows from home, so when Hawkeye tries to catch the attentions of one of the locals as they move on to greet the other new arrivals, Balthazar takes pity on him. Maybe it's just been a good day, maybe it's the military greens - he's a soldier, too, of an entirely different sort - whatever it is, he turns around and leans lazily against the rail with an easy smile. "You're not in Korea. Welcome to Medietas."

He had listened, apparently, because what Sam is saying actually makes a decent amount of sense. Ironhide has to concede that and he does, gruffly muttering under his breath about how humans managed to get him in the worst situations.

"Come on. We don't have time to waste."

Hawkeye is more than willing to approve the figure talking to him, if only because he seems to be offering answers when no-one else around is prepared to.

"Medietas?" He repeats, the word unfamiliar on his tongue. "Is that one of those little Greek islands...?" It probably wasn't. This place didn't look Greek, and he'd seen photographs of what Greece looked like. The buildings weren't right. "Please tell me this is a coma fantasy."

Of course, that was unlikely, there was no evidence that coma fantasies were real, although the unconscious brain almost certainly did dream while in a comatose state. Why come up with this though? When not dream about a hot girl making drinks?

"Anna Grace McAlister," she offers in return, lifting her glass back in greeting. It's a mouthful of a name and she knows it but she's never been anything but all three parts; it's sacrilege to try and cut it off.

"You been here long?"

There were a lot of things that General Matheson could handle. Like black outs all over the damn world. The power going out because people didn't know when to leave things the hell alone. What he can't handle is floating ships and... well, he's not sure what. However, there's a guy that almost reminds him of Aaron. Someone who babbled on about different odd and end things.

He does, however, move over to the edge of the boat near Cisco and then pulls back," Not so sure I'm amazed by us being stuck in a flying boat."

"The paint job or ending up here?" Was Gabriel in the area and Cisco just not notice him until he spoke up, or did he appear just now? It's a mystery!

Speaking of Gabriel, he'll just keep his hands in his jacket pockets for now. It's something to do with them that doesn't involve holding something to eat or drink. May as well keep them out of the way.

I think if you get stumped for information, there's no hope for the rest of us to answer anything new. [She says it in a tone that's teasing, but ... she makes a point, too. Well, probably more so if they were still in their universe, but, eh, details.]

Hi. [She adds that on with a small smile.]

"Last time I fell off the... Oh *****. Sorry, but no one is trying to eat us, we don't seem to be in danger, I sure as ****s would rather not try and call him to try to get us home. I'd rather not owe him anything more than I already do." Her expression was dark, and she kept her hands at her sides by sheer force of will; curling her fingers around the pommels of the daggers.

She sighed heavily and looked at him. "Dead again? How many times have you died?" Had he not been so clearly mortal, that would have worried her. But the undying weren't so.... well, she was pretty sure she could take him down. She didn't favor her odds one on one against the undying. Maybe this was some other magic. She really hated magic.

"If you were in the middle of a war, and now you're not, why the *****s would you want to go back?" She might have failed history, but that one seemed pretty obvious to her.

...Okay. [Was there any point in asking him to explain that? Probably not. Instead, she just smiled slightly as he turned his phone on and it started in on its welcoming spiel, complete with house assignment and directions on how to get there.]

Yep. Did I mention they give you clothes in the exact right size? And some of your stuff from home?

Like I said: alien abduction.

Balthazar shrugs, "It's a Latin word. We're certainly not in Greece, though, or anywhere else I imagine you'd find familiar." He gestures around vaguely, "none of us know where we are, exactly. Just we all arrived on the same boat that brought you here."

He grins as Hawkeye mentions the possibility of a coma fantasy. His first thought was along similar lines - was this where angels went when they died? Especially after finding Gabriel here. "Well, the drinks taste real enough to me, and they expect us all to find jobs to support ourselves, beyond the first month. So if that's so, it must be some dream."

He spins toward the source of the voice that actually answered his question. "Dude, how is this not awesome to you?" Sometimes, Cisco forgets not everyone is as curious about how things work as he can be most of the time.

"Maybe because we're floating and if one of us falls off we'll die," Miles states simply, raising a brow at the younger man's excitement. "So tell me again how being on a damn ship where we could easily die be so damn awesome? Because I want to hear how anyone could see it that way."

Only thing that was amazing to him, so far, was the fact that he could see places further out. Places that had power. This had to be something the nanotech came up with. Which meant the other guy probably wasn't even really there.

"What the--" he turns toward the owner of the voice. He blinks a couple of times and stares. "Dude, where did you come from?" He hadn't been there before. ....Had he? Dammit, now he's not sure.

"And to answer your question, both. But mostly the second one. I'm still trying to wrap my brain around all of--" he waves a hand around, gesturing at everything in the general vicinity. "this."
