Welcome to Medietas! Do you have an interest in joining the game? Is there an old muse that you want to dust off? Or, perhaps you're looking for a place to voice test a brand new character and would like to do so in our little island setting among friends? Well, whatever the reason, this is where you can do that!
You all know what to do! If you don’t, just follow the instructions and HAVE FUN!
How To Play:
→ Comment with the character you’d like to test drive. Don’t forget to add their name and canon in the subject line.
→ Choose a scenario, or start your own!
→ Tag around!
Possible Scenarios:
1. Getting Settled: So, now that you've arrived and wandered around the starter home you've been given, it's time to check out the rest of the islands. There's a market on Aerilon that is full of treasures. Or, you can check out Chapter Six bookstore. Perhaps you wander over to the Mean Princess facility on Mulciber. There is so much to see and do!
2. Islands: There is definitely some weirdness going on around the islands from the sidewalks that glow to the mysterious energy that doesn't seem to have any direct source. There are statues that hum softly and seem to grow every so often. And what is with these bridges? Go forth and investigate! Puzzles are FUN!
3. PARTY: Every month or so there's always a celebration somewhere, be it on Mulciber, Imber, Mundus, Eurus, and now Nidus! Eat, drink, dance, talk among the other islanders. It's about making new friends and enjoying yourself, right?
4. Trouble!: All is quiet and calm when suddenly the warning signals across each of the islands sound. Not long after, or, at least only long enough to get prepared, a large hydra creature crawling out of the lake on Imber. Do what you can to help remove this threat before it gets to any of the other islands!
5. Wild Card: Got something else in mind and want to create your own scenario? Go for it!
Doctor Stephen Strange | Doctor Strange MCU
And yes, the strange sort of energy he could feel thrumming about the place certainly didn't help reassure him that this was an altogether safe place. While he was absolutely capable of dealing with danger if necessary it wasn't as if he went around telling people danger was his middle name. Because it wasn't. His middle name was Vincent.
"Alright," he said, glancing around and eyeing a few bubbles rising up from a lake suspiciously before glancing in the direction of what sounded like a party. "I can't say this is the worst welcome I've had to another realm but at least the last time something showed up to great me."
[ooc: Spoilers for Doctor Strange, obviously. Feel free to respond with whatever of the scenarios would work best for your character!]
Re: Doctor Stephen Strange | Doctor Strange MCU
The kitten is then presented for Strange to pet.
Near by is a man with the exact same hair and eye coloring; obviously a relative.
Re: Doctor Stephen Strange | Doctor Strange MCU
Strange gave the child a wary look. Just because something looked cute and harmless didn't mean that it couldn't also practically eat your face. Also, the child might be possessed and be some sort of horrible monster. The kitten certainly was a monster but that was just the nature of most cats.
"Charmed, I'm sure," Strange said, reaching out and shaking the kitten's tiny paw. "I'm Doctor Strange. And is Mayhem the place, the name of your cat, or both?"
Re: Doctor Stephen Strange | Doctor Strange MCU
"Mayhem is Mayhem. This place is Medietas. It's stupid."
As for the kitten... The kitten gives a bit of a meep when his paw is shaken and then yawned... showing off three rows of shark-like teeth.
Re: Doctor Stephen Strange | Doctor Strange MCU
"And I have to say I'm not really a fan of Medietas at the moment either since I can't exactly leave here."

"He's part goblin and can eat anything," Ceilidh informed Strange seriously when she saw him peering at Mayhem. "His favorite food is magic."
In fact Mayhem has gotten a good sniff of Strange and his cloak and vanishes from Ceilidh's hands to reappear on Strange's shoulder.
"He can also teleport."
Seeing this, the man starts to come over.

Tony didn't tend to wander around a lot -- there were far better things he could do with his time than walking -- but there were occasionally times when he had to venture out of his engineering cave. He had made a point of caffeinated himself as a reward/enticement to actually go out, so he was feeling pretty aware of things.
Which was why after he passed by the gentleman in the fancy cape, he abruptly stopped and then backtracked to peer at the guy a little closer. There was something vaguely familiar there, but Tony just could not put his finger on what. Which meant it was time to ask. And not just stare.
"Sorry, have we met?"
no subject
"Yes, Bern in 2000. I believe we were both after the same woman. The more important question is... where are we meeting now?"
no subject
"This place? It's called Medietas," he said with a vague gesture at their surroundings. "No one knows how we got here or how to get back and it makes no logical sense. Welcome," he added with a lopsided smile.
no subject
"Now, if you'll just stand back," Strange said, his cloak flowing out behind him as he began to levitate. He spread his hands out wide and began to use his ring, moving it in circles as... absolutely nothing happened. It only took a moment for him to realize it wasn't going to work and he sank back to the ground. "Usually that doesn't happen..."
no subject
Of course, when nothing happened, the eyebrows hiked a bit higher. "What exactly were you aiming for? Because it was a pretty good light show."

Steve's on his usual circuit of the islands, both as exercise and to keep an eye on anything peculiar, well more peculiar than recent events that is, and so he pauses at the sight of someone he hadn't seen before.
"I take it you're new."
no subject
"I've been around the block a few times personally but this is definitely the first time I've been here. I think."
no subject
He didn't know Stephen by sight but would recognize his name and that would be about it.
no subject
"Dr. Stephen Strange," he said, giving a bit of a smile as he offered his hand to the other man. "A pleasure to meet you, Captain Rogers."
Re: Doctor Stephen Strange | Doctor Strange MCU
But instead, she walked up to Stephen at the lake and waved. "Hi, um, forgive me if this is rude but are you Dr. Strange? Inquiring minds wanna know."
Re: Doctor Stephen Strange | Doctor Strange MCU
"But yes, I'm Doctor Strange. You are... ?"
Re: Doctor Stephen Strange | Doctor Strange MCU
"I'm Kamala Khan, I'm from Jersey but I'm up to date with a lot of Superheroes in my world, and you look just like the Dr. Stephen Strange the Sorcerer Supreme. He's a pretty famous face in New York and Jersey, even if he doesn't come across the lake that much."
Though I think this one has one up on the Stephen being a bit more handsome? Cool beans.
Re: Doctor Stephen Strange | Doctor Strange MCU
"Although the Sorcerer Supreme thing is new. Not that I don't like the title but I'm still fairly new to this all, Miss Khan. Apparently not new enough to avoid being sent to strange new dimensions."
Re: Doctor Stephen Strange | Doctor Strange MCU
"Yeah that happened well before I was born. But at the very least, it's known that if you want something mystical solved, you go to Doctor Strange for all of your mystical needs." She explained. "And please, it's Kamala. Miss Khan makes me look over my shoulder for my Ammi."
"As for other dimensions, well it's kind of commonplace where I come from. There's been numerous Superhero incidents with them, though not all of them have a wiki page. And try getting someone to come clean about something there at times takes guts or a hefty dose of the Deadpool or Squirrel Girl."

The brunette had overheard him talking to himself at the lake, coming up besides him before giving him a long look. She'd seen that expression - hell, that facial hair before. "Not that I'm an official greeter, or unofficial, really, but. Are you related to Tony Stark?"
Nailed it.
no subject
"First contact usually isn't so pleasant though. And not I'm not related to Stark, no. Though I suppose I'll choose to be flattered by the comparison."
no subject
When he denied being related to Tony, Lucy smiled and explained. "Sorry, there's a guy here. Same..."
She trailed off and made a vague motion at her face as if to indicate the two of them shared the same kind of facial hair.
no subject
"Tony Stark, I've seen him on the news before. I suppose it does look a bit like his, doesn't it?" he said. Perhaps he had unconsciously copied the style but he thought it had suited him well. He actually liked it more than being clean shaven.
"But I'm Doctor Stephen Strange. No relation to Stark."
no subject
When he introduced himself, she gave a small smile. "Maybe no relation, but definitely a mouthful all on your own. Dr. Strange? Sounds like a good name for a supervillian in a Bond movie."
