Test Drive

Welcome to Medietas! Are you interested in joining the game? Do you have an old muse you want to dust off? Are you looking for a place to voice test a brand new character and would like to do so in our little island setting? Well, you've come to the right place!
You all know what to do but if you don’t, just follow the instructions and HAVE FUN!
How To Play:
→ Comment with the character you’d like to test drive. Don’t forget to add their name and canon in the subject line.
→ Choose a scenario, or start your own!
→ Tag around!
Possible Scenarios:
1. New Arrival: You have just arrived on the island of Medietas, in the city of Aerilon via a floating boat with people you may or may not know. Of course, you can't help wondering what the heck is going on here, or how you even got on the boat in the first place. But as soon as the vessel docks you are greeted by some lovely locals who offer you a map and a communications device before leaving you to your own. You probably have questions and there seems to be a number of people there already who may or may not have those answers. Talk to them! Or, get on the network and introduce yourself!
2. Getting Settled: So, you've arrived, but now there's five islands you should get yourself acquainted with. Meet your starter home neighbors! Start your new job! Check out the market on Aerilon. Or, attend one of the many block parties!
3. Lost!: Somehow you got yourself turned around and confused and getting back to where you want to be is looking impossible.
4. Wild Card: Got something else in mind and want to create your own scenario? Go for it!
Khadgar | Warcraft (possible slight spoilers, but will try avoiding them)
Given he'd been on gryphon back, the abrupt transition to being on a boat and not flying left him confused considerably. Once he'd overcome the shock of it, he forced himself to put aside trying to work out just how it could be possible for anyone to have done such a thing. He had a place to be with some urgency to actually get there. It didn't help that he'd nearly been there when he'd been snatched. Unfortunately, his attempt at creating a portal to Stormwind did nothing but put on a light show for those also on the boat.
He left the docks with yet more questions and little in the way of answers, but there was one thing he could settle easily enough. A bit of simple spellwork and one of the people leaving what looked to be a tavern was suddenly turned into a sheep.
Well, that answered one question. He was still capable of using magic here. Perhaps there had been something on the boat that had prevented his spell from working as it ought to have.
[lost]
[Once he'd known his magic worked, he'd found himself a good place to draw a portal with the intention of heading back to Stormwind and he'd thought at first he'd succeeded when it had begun to work as it should.
Up until the moment it spat him out into the shallows of a shoreline, causing a modest splash and soaking him in the bargain. He struggled to his feet and began making his way onto the beach ahead of him.]
Now just where am I?
[The question was largely rhetorical since it was more of an observation than an actual question. He certainly didn't recognize the the area that he now found himself in. It definitely wasn't where he'd meant to go.]
no subject
After the last attempt to create a portal back to Azeroth failed and placed him atop a mountain, his return placed him on a paved walkway not far from the water's edge on Imber. With his energy fairly depleted, the archmage gripped his fingers around Atiesh until his balance was regained. That's when he spotted Khadgar, the boy he'd asked Lothar about back in Karazhan.
The Guardian stood looking blankly. His apprentice wouldn't hear it, but there was a small, inaudible sigh sounding.]
no subject
He wished he didn't look like he'd been unexpectedly ambushed by murlocs at this surprise meeting between the two of them. He was already low enough he suspected in the other mage's regard.]
Guardian.
[The title was spoken with respect, and a subtle tinge of wariness. He still recalled rather well just how fast Medivh had been able to call fire to his bidding. He hadn't any warning at all before it'd happened.]
no subject
Apprentice. Come, we have much to talk about.
[Medivh turned and continued to walk.]
no subject
He just wished he knew a spell to dry his clothes off quick and easily. The way the fabric of his tunic and breaches clung to his skin was rather uncomfortable. However, he had his doubts that Medivh would wish to delay long enough to let him wring the excess water out of his clothing.]
Have you learned anything about this place and how we arrived on the boat that brought us here?
[He certainly hadn't traveled through any sort of portal that he could recall, unless something had knocked him out after the gryphon had landed and thus robbed him of the memory of it.]
no subject
[And now came a passing look, to see if the young man walking with him had a reaction. His next question would allow for better insight.]
What do you remember last, before coming here?
no subject
His eyes flickered from the ground to Medivh and then back again as he tried to think of just how to answer that question without regretting it. Perhaps if he left out what he'd seen in Karazhan the answer would be received better than it would if he started from there.]
I was heading back to Stormwind on gryphon back from Dalaran.
[Was it too much to hope for that he wouldn't be asked just why he'd been in Dalaran? He hoped not. He wasn't sure how he'd explain that.]
no subject
A hand emerged from under his cloak and at the wrist, his fingers turned clockwise and like that Khadgar's clothing was clean and dry. Only after did the Guardian's eyes furrow slightly.]
What matter of business did you have in Dalaran?
[His expression was more than interested in knowing what he was doing in the floating city after saying he'd renounced his vow at their first meeting.]
no subject
He looked up at Medivh after a moment despite knowing that the conflict he was currently feeling would no doubt be visible in his eyes as they quietly searched the other man's eyes as if looking for something.]
I--saw something. In Karazhan. After the meeting with the orcs. I thought that they--I thought I might get answers to questions I had in regards to it.
[No sense really in saying he'd thought to get help from them. He really should have known they wouldn't bother to actually help. That had been partially one of the reasons he'd left, their lack of inclination to help people in need when it didn't suit them to do so.]
Care not for spoilers
Seeing the man spat out into the water from a portal, Theo wandered over to him. "Are you okay?"
no subject
Once he was actually out of the water, he began wringing the excess water out of his cloak as he studied the man before him.
no subject
He also feels like he's just walked on Khadgar's grave.
"Tried to portal off out of here?"
no subject
There was a subtle wariness in his eyes as he took a step back. "Yes. You're versed in magic?"
no subject
"Some sorts, yes. My brother-in-law has been working on creating portals." And he's a necromancer, but that doesn't seem to be the smart thing to mention. "However he's yet to have any success at creating them. There's a lovely splotch of purple on the office ceiling that can't be removed no matter what we try."
no subject
"He might be trying to go about them the wrong way. Is he being taught by a mage or teaching himself?"
no subject
"He's figuring it out mostly by himself with some texts he's managed to get ... somehow... from fairie. He's an utter genius when it comes to ritual magic though," Theo said. "The fair folk are the only ones who are capable of creating portals where I'm from."
The gods possibly can, but if so they've never let humanity know and they most certainly haven't let Theo know, even if he lived with two of them.
no subject
"Are you from here or did you come in on the boat as well?" Perhaps he could get a few new answers about this place he found himself in. The only method he knew of to cross worlds was the portal he'd seen in the book and in person being built by the orcs and he certainly couldn't recall passing through one prior to his arrival on the boat.

Re: Khadgar | Warcraft (possible slight spoilers, but will try avoiding them)
He had been tracking his efforts for awhile, as he had the other mage like him who had arrived.
Such an influx usually meant more would come. Merlin wondered how many would follow these two.
no subject
"You tried as well?"
no subject
"Which is not to say to stop, just be cautious. The Powers that be of this place can sometimes be cranky, and if you push them too much, too often, they'll rob you of your powers for a short while."
no subject
"I'll be careful." He managed to reply. Though he had the feeling that if the mage before him and all of the others couldn't figure out a way home, he stood very little chance of finding a way himself.
"Thank you for the warning."
no subject
As they talked, he paused. "One thing of significance you should know. This place brings people from all times and places, even those who are in our personal times, dead."
Re: Khadgar | Warcraft (possible slight spoilers, but will try avoiding them)
"I don't know how to do that," Jaenelle says, voice velvety and deceptively soft. She is curious, if only because it's Craft she's never seen done before. "How do you change the body without shattering the chalice?"
no subject
He hoped the lady didn't think he was ignoring her as he puzzled out her question, answering her once he'd thought he had it figured out. "It only really works on the simple minded, and it only lasts around a minute. They're disoriented during that time, so I don't believe that they really realize just what has happened and by the time the disorientation clears up, they're no longer a sheep."
no subject
"You'll teach it to me? I think I can do it."
