Welcome to Medietas! Do you have an interest in joining the game? Is there an old muse that you want to dust off? Or, perhaps you're looking for a place to voice test a brand new character and would like to do so in our little island setting among friends? Well, whatever the reason, this is where you can do that!
You all know what to do! If you don’t, just follow the instructions and HAVE FUN!
How To Play:
→ Comment with the character you’d like to test drive. Don’t forget to add their name and canon in the subject line.
→ Choose a scenario, or start your own!
→ Tag around!
Possible Scenarios:
1. Getting Settled: So, now that you've arrived and wandered around the starter home you've been given, it's time to check out the rest of the islands. There's a market on Aerilon that is full of treasures. Or, you can check out Chapter Six bookstore. Perhaps you wander over to the Mean Princess facility on Mulciber. There is so much to see and do!
2. Islands: There is definitely some weirdness going on around the islands from the sidewalks that glow to the mysterious energy that doesn't seem to have any direct source. There are statues that hum softly and seem to grow every so often. And what is with these bridges? Go forth and investigate! Puzzles are FUN!
3. PARTY: Every month or so there's always a celebration somewhere, be it on Mulciber, Imber, Mundus, Eurus, and now Nidus! Eat, drink, dance, talk among the other islanders. It's about making new friends and enjoying yourself, right?
4. Trouble!: All is quiet and calm when suddenly the warning signals across each of the islands sound. Not long after, or, at least only long enough to get prepared, a large hydra creature crawling out of the lake on Imber. Do what you can to help remove this threat before it gets to any of the other islands!
5. Wild Card: Got something else in mind and want to create your own scenario? Go for it!
:: Laura Howlett :: X-Men :: Possible Spoilers ::
She'd finally found Eden but it had come at a heavy cost. Charles, James: They'd both fought hard for something intangible something that she too hoped to find; happiness. Laura didn't hope for anything close to normal but something new.
Her eyes snapped open and she quickly rolled to her feet, slinging her backpack protectively over her shoulder. Laura glared at those on the ship, her dark eyes piercing. There was blood on her clothing and hands but it didn't look like it was hers. She sidestepped as the boat docked and then took off at a quick run.
She didn't know where she was but she had to go back. She had to find the others.
:: Around ::
Laura screamed when she reached the edge of the island. There was no way off, no way back. Her thin frame fell to her knees as she looked over the edge, her fists punching into the hard rock. With each strike her knuckles blistered, bleed and healed.
"Llévame de vuelta. Llévame de vuelta! Llévame de vuelta! Llévame de vuelta" Her words were quick and panicked as she lashed out at the island that had decided to keep her hostage.

He wouldn't bother if it weren't obviously a child doing the screaming, but a child in distress is something he can't ignore. Then as he gets closer, he notices that she's punching the rocks but sustaining no apparent injury. That's interesting.
He addresses her in Spanish, since that's the one language he knows she knows right now. "There is no getting back. At least not yet." He's not saying it in a cruel tone. Rather it comes across as a message from someone who understands completely the desire to be somewhere other than here.
no subject
Her thin frame shook as his words pressed against her physice. There is no getting back. He couldn't know that, not unless they tried. They were finally going to be free and then... Laura gritted her teeth to try and stop the rage that filled her small frame.
"North Dakota." She looked back at Erik, her eyes looking more like an animal. "
regresa"
no subject
"You're a long way from North Dakota." Or anywhere else familiar, seeing as she's from a world with North Dakota in it.
no subject
She then began to list the name of her friends but unlike when she'd been talking to her father she added his name to the list; James. There was no way of knowing who she was talking about but it was now someone else she wanted to get back to. Yes, he was gone but he wasn't here, the future she paid for with blood wasn't here.
no subject
"Are you just going to keep beating those rocks up?"
no subject
Right now Erik looked like her enemy, someone who would keep her here when all she wanted to do was go home.
no subject
"Just because you're not where you want to be, or with the people you want to find, doesn't mean there's no one here who can help you."
no subject
"Take me home!" She shouted and fought his grip. Laura will eventually tire herself out but she had a lot of energy for a young girl and right now she thought that Erik was somehow the reason why all of this was happening.
"What are you doing?" Laura asked in a growl as she fought the resistance of her fist. If she was closer she'd kick him but her legs were to short.
no subject
Charles is so much better at this.
"You won't be getting home for awhile. None of us will."
no subject
"Why?" Laura was very smart for an eleven year old but she didn't understand it. They were finally free.
"Eden..."
no subject
That's a strange word. He knows what it means, of course (how could he not, after all?), but he doesn't understand it in the context of this conversation. "Eden?"
no subject
"We were all going to find Eden." Her voice sounded small, more like a child's. She began listing the names of her friends but this time she added her fathers name.

Re: :: Laura Howlett :: X-Men :: Possible Spoilers ::
"You're going to hurt yourself," said Ms Marvel, a look of concern on her face. "And screaming into the abyss isn't going to help: believe me I've done it already."
no subject
She didn't speak but she stopped hitting the ground and sat back to look at the shifting clouds beneath them. Her knuckles rested on her knees, covered in blood but without a scratch on them.
"Qué deseas." She spoke in a very soft voice, her words sharp.
no subject
This was a little frustrating in some ways, but Kamala's somewhat mediocre grasp of Spanish was at best, floundering.
Why can't she speak Urdu? Urdu I know...
"I'm Ms Marvel, I'm a superhero. Can I help?"
no subject
She pulled her backpack a little closer when the girl mentioned super heroes. Her chin feel a bit while her eyes remained fixed on the space in front of her. She didn't want to look at the other girl when she spoke again.
"Like X-Men." They were heroes.
no subject
She hoped it wasn't just going home she was wanting. Cause Kamala couldn't really answer that.
no subject
She knew that the man that she was looking for was dead but if she can't go back then she'd want to find her family here. Maybe she had died too and they were all here.
no subject
We're take the pain so that no one else will...
"You know what? I haven't seen him, but... there's a chance the Wolverine... Logan, we know will show up. He's the kindest man I ever knew... he even got me a gyro too. See?"
She pulled up a selfie of her and Logan, posing for the camera. "This was my first and only picture with him too."
no subject
Her head fell and she felt a knot of emotions gather in her chest. She pulled the comic against her chest as if to hug the very image of him.
"He looks happy." It was the first time she'd spoken in English but she lost the will to keep the language barrier between them.
no subject
She wasn't too surprised Laura was bilingual but she managed to look up at her. Something about her seemed familiar, like she had seen her before in the X-Men rosters. "I... can I ask you a question? Are you, I don't mean to sound rude, but were you part of the X-Men?"
no subject
"There are no X-men anymore." Because Logan had died.
no subject
Kamala bit her lip as she reached up and peeled her mask off slowly, brushing her long hair away from her face. "I met Logan, in the sewer of Jersey, chasing down a guy I called the Inventor. He was this big, parrot-headed crazypants clone of Thomas Jefferson but that's besides the point."
Taking a breath, Kamala pushed on. "The point is, he had lost his healing factor, after I mentioned we both have similar powers. But after a massive sewer gator fight, I asked him a simple question: Is it possible to help people without doing any harm?"
"He said no, it isn't. Pain cycles. You can help people without harming them, but it always cycles back to you. I didn't want to believe it for the longest time, but it's the best advice I was given. Pain might hurt, you might miss people... when they're gone. My Logan is gone, and I didn't even get a chance to see him one last time. But making sure that you use the chance he gave for a brighter future? That's something worth taking the pain for. And believe me, it hurts."
no subject
"I know." Her voice was soft but filled with pain.
She didn't want to talk about her father. Her Logan? It didn't make any sense. She'd watched him die after promising Charles that she'd keep him alive. She'd continue his legacy if she could but she didn't know how to do that. Not anymore.
