Welcome to Medietas! Do you have an interest in joining the game? Is there an old muse that you want to dust off? Or, perhaps you're looking for a place to voice test a brand new character and would like to do so in our little island setting among friends? Well, whatever the reason, this is where you can do that!
You all know what to do! If you don’t, just follow the instructions and HAVE FUN!
How To Play:
→ Comment with the character you’d like to test drive. Don’t forget to add their name and canon in the subject line.
→ Choose a scenario, or start your own!
→ Tag around!
Possible Scenarios:
1. Getting Settled: So, now that you've arrived and wandered around the starter home you've been given, it's time to check out the rest of the islands. There's a market on Aerilon that is full of treasures. Or, you can check out Chapter Six bookstore. Perhaps you wander over to the Mean Princess facility on Mulciber. There is so much to see and do!
2. Islands: There is definitely some weirdness going on around the islands from the sidewalks that glow to the mysterious energy that doesn't seem to have any direct source. There are statues that hum softly and seem to grow every so often. And what is with these bridges? Go forth and investigate! Puzzles are FUN!
3. PARTY: Every month or so there's always a celebration somewhere, be it on Mulciber, Imber, Mundus, Eurus, and now Nidus! Eat, drink, dance, talk among the other islanders. It's about making new friends and enjoying yourself, right?
4. Trouble!: All is quiet and calm when suddenly the warning signals across each of the islands sound. Not long after, or, at least only long enough to get prepared, a large hydra creature crawling out of the lake on Imber. Do what you can to help remove this threat before it gets to any of the other islands!
5. Wild Card: Got something else in mind and want to create your own scenario? Go for it!
Noa Kaiba | Yu-Gi-Oh! DM - Ryslig CRAU
[1 - THIS IS NOT MY BEAUTIFUL HOUSE-]
[He wakes to the impossible.
He can still feel his scales-the four snakes in his hair hum and hiss curiously, tasting the air from the back of his scalp. As he opens his eyes to take in his surroundings however, it becomes clearer and clearer that he is not where he was before.
He wonders initially if he is in another dream-but he woke from that, he woke from the wires and the cables that struck them all, so that is impossible.
He is still a naga. He is still a 'monster'. Yet with a jolt he realizes that his crippling hunger is no longer there, not even a ghost at the edge of his mind. The boat is built entirely different from anything Ryslig had ever seen-and even then, a boat of this scale there? The only reason they went out to sea was for fishing, or to travel to the smaller islands.
They certainly didn't fly through the air.
And it is the air that leaves him choking. It is the air that leaves him slithering off the boat and onto the island with wide eyes behind chain-strung glasses, his suit top and tail-mounted cases standing out quite starkly among what surrounds him. Not that his snake-features weren't already doing that.
By the time his voice has found him, it is for no one in particular, a wavering and shaking child's voice carrying a tone that suits his age and sounds nothing at all like how he would typically bring it forth.] ....Where...
[And he chokes again, the snakes in his hair sensing his agitation.] Where on earth is this...
[2 - There's A Scientist In All Of Us, If You Look]
[The power here did not make sense.
He had worked with technology before-well. Sort of. He had been technology was more accurate.
What he worked with was more finicky than that. Sensitive circuits charmed with magic beyond his grasp, glowing with runes that hissed if he so much as considered tapping them wrong. Liewen's laptops were a mystery he had never truly solved in the end, for all the upgrades and advancements he managed to contribute somehow. Really, it wasn't hard to impress a society whose other advancements of notes had yet to progress beyond the era of the 50s. This magic seems a little less volatile toward his presence-for that, he thanks the absence of the Fog and the Fourth, the deities so viciously at war where he last was. But as for where that leaves him now?
It leaves him with a mystery. And mysteries, he feels, ought be solved.
He has a notepad with him, as well as a pencil-and as he travels through the bridges, the streets, the buildings-anything that has some sort of magical source of energy and power flowing through it-he writes. He writes, and writes, and writes more, furiously filling page after page with observations and notes, going so far as to see if there are panels or runes he can open up for study, or merely copy down. Anything he can get to-he is getting to it.
This would probably all look far less conspicuous if he wasn't both 12 years old, and half snake.]

im so sorry mokuba
u sayin his tail makes him fat mokubaTo be fair to Mokuba-he's probably still shorter than the guy. Or maybe they're the same height now. It's a hard call, harder still when the naga has a habit of pulling himself up just a few inches more to get a bit more ground in an argument.
To be fair to the staring, there probably aren't a lot of naga in this world.
Noa doesn't see the boy-not at first. It's the snakes on his head, who see him-a couple of the four raise their heads, unblinking blue eyes staring as they flick curious tongues in his direction. Through those eyes, a vision comes-and through that vision, Noa pauses, narrowing his own eyes to mutter to himself.] ...Blue-Eyes...?
[That can't be right, he thinks, shaking his head and trying to go back to his notes. But curiosity gets the best of him, and he turns, still muttering; 'that's impossible' 'that can't be right' 'that isn't-'
...
His eyes widen, and the already slit pupils narrow more, if it were possible, the boy nearly dropping his pencil and paper.] ..... Mokuba...
[...He's pretty sure he's dreaming, now. He was sure of it when he arrived, and then convinced otherwise, but if Mokuba is here, it must be a dream.]
no subject
After a moment's pause, he decides to tentatively raise a hand up in greeting. Either this snake person is perfectly friendly and just looks freaky, or Mokuba is going to be high-tailing it in the other direction as fast as possible while Hiryu lets loose with the hidden flamethrower in its mouth.]
the sheer contrast between dub and sub VAs on Noa was impressive though w ow
...People don't have to be dead, to be here. They certainly didn't in the case of Ryslig, as much as he found solace in the fact that it was his 'second change'. What did that make this then? His third? A punishment?
A gift..?
He feels like crying. (He's not going to cry, he can't let himself cry-)
To spend all that time accepting what he can never see again, what he can never return to, only to see it here...that's simply-] Mnh...
MOKUBA..!
[His voice hasn't changed much, since then. Still a child's. Still 'his'.
Still 'Noa's.]
lol oh man the dub, i cant even stand Mokuba in the dub. so whiny
He dares to start walking forwards so he can get closer.] ... Noa?
lmao and then Noa was basically 'STANDARD BRIT VILLAIN SNOB'
...Judgement, maybe?
Don't be foolish, he tells himself. It isn't as though being here means he knows about 'Ryslig'. About what monster means in Ryslig, about what monsters ate in Ryslig, about what he embraced-
...The boy nods.] ...I...
[He's lost for words. What a joke-Noa Kaiba, lost for words, after all the talking he could manage before!] ...Is he here too then? [he finds himself asking instead, a slight frown over his face. ...He'll be fine talking to Mokuba.
He's not sure if he can stomach a meeting with Seto again.]
no subject
At the mention of Seto though, Mokuba's face falls.] No, he... I haven't seen Niisama for months.
[Hiryu, meanwhile, is rearing up like its about to attack, because surely a snake monster is a threat to Mokuba. Mokuba catches it though and puts a hand in front of its face, blocking the way and ordering sharply:] No! This is Noa, he's my brother. Don't ever attack him, okay?
[Hiryu makes a little growling noise but obeys, settling back down next to him but keeping its eyes on Noa.]
'i haven't seen you since I died' was a very tempting line
...He's not going to touch on that.
Before he can even respond to it, the cy-buddy is rearing, Noa's own claws twitching as the snakes off his head start to hiss dangerously. They can't do much-they're pythons not vipers-but they're not pleased with the perceived threat, and it takes a moment for them to calm down with the robot in such a state.
Brother.
He is NOT going to cry, dammit! It feels almost a hollow victory, to hear that. Brother...] ...So you've been here for months then? [he questions, trying to find some way, anyway to start conversation with the boy without touching on being a snake.] ...Well, [he chuckles, giving a shrug and crossing his arms.] You've certainly been here longer than I have then, haven't you?
...I've been somewhere else entirely. [...Somewhere he's glad he never saw the other in, honestly.]
no subject
Not here. I just got here. I was somewhere else for a few months too. [He tilts his head to the side curiously.] What was the place called where you were? [He knows it couldn't have been Cerealia.]
no subject
[He said 'a few months'-of course it couldn't have been Ryslig, they'd both be inhuman if that were the case, but the words escape him without thought. The slightest possibility is enough to bring the fear.]
no subject
no subject
[He said, coming out of a horror situation.] ...Ryslig was unique. Some of those brought there were still alive as far as they could recall, [Noa explains, feeling at least this much to be safe to speak about.] Others...were like me. In both cases, someone calling themselves a god of that realm gathered us for largely unknown reasons.
She wasn't very open about what she was doing. [...Other than the war bit. But he's not talking about that lalalalalla-]
no subject
Did you... show up like that [He gestures towards his snake body] or did that happen to you while you were there?
no subject
And then Mokuba asks that question, and he has to drop it. Ah.]
...It happened over time. ...anyone who arrived there, everyone, became 'something'. ...I've gotten used to it, [he tries to add more optimistically-it isn't a lie after all. Before getting here he was even making jokes about having no legs! ...he isn't sure he can find a good window for one right now though.] And... ...I'd forgotten, I think, what 'real' life was...
no subject
ohright i updated that painting I had above, if you wanted better visual ref-
This is not Ryslig however, and instead he finds the first thought is... '...Is this really so bad?'
The second is 'it is not', of course. It can't be possible, it wouldn't, it shouldn't, and...] ...I doubt it. ...It isn't as if I had a living body to begin with...and besides that, as I said, I'm used to this by now; I've looked like this for over a year, you know.
no subject
no subject
...Friends. His answer isn't spoken immediately, but his expression is clear. ...They were idiots honestly, but...] ...I did.
...I could even say obvious exceptions aside they were my...first. Friends, [he says quietly, the word foreign on his lips. Did he ever tell them that? Not really. He'd 'warmed up' enough to hold a Christmas party but... ....Too little too late, it seems.] ...One came from your future, interestingly. Apparently Seto builds a boarding school for duelists.
[He had to at least mention that. It's to ridiculous not to mention.]
no subject
Niisama has a dueling school in the future? I'm not surprised. [He wonders what he's doing in the future.]
no subject
As for the school, he sighs.] ...Apparently. For some time, given they were a graduate...
Interestingly, I was briefly mistaken for you, however. [Something about the hair. And it being kind of everywhere now.]
