Welcome to Medietas! Do you have an interest in joining the game? Is there an old muse that you want to dust off? Or, perhaps you're looking for a place to voice test a brand new character and would like to do so in our little island setting among friends? Well, whatever the reason, this is where you can do that!
You all know what to do! If you don’t, just follow the instructions and HAVE FUN!
How To Play:
→ Comment with the character you’d like to test drive. Don’t forget to add their name and canon in the subject line.
→ Choose a scenario, or start your own!
→ Tag around!
Possible Scenarios:
1. Getting Settled: So, now that you've arrived and wandered around the starter home you've been given, it's time to check out the rest of the islands. There's a market on Aerilon that is full of treasures. Or, you can check out Chapter Six bookstore. Perhaps you wander over to the Mean Princess facility on Mulciber. There is so much to see and do!
2. Islands: There is definitely some weirdness going on around the islands from the sidewalks that glow to the mysterious energy that doesn't seem to have any direct source. There are statues that hum softly and seem to grow every so often. And what is with these bridges? Go forth and investigate! Puzzles are FUN!
3. PARTY: Every month or so there's always a celebration somewhere, be it on Mulciber, Imber, Mundus, Eurus, and now Nidus! Eat, drink, dance, talk among the other islanders. It's about making new friends and enjoying yourself, right?
4. Trouble!: All is quiet and calm when suddenly the warning signals across each of the islands sound. Not long after, or, at least only long enough to get prepared, a large hydra creature crawling out of the lake on Imber. Do what you can to help remove this threat before it gets to any of the other islands!
5. Wild Card: Got something else in mind and want to create your own scenario? Go for it!
Raven | X-men, Through Apocalypse
Raven's live was always full of surprises. From the first time she could remember feeling she was different from the people around her to finding out that people had traveled through time to stop her from killing someone, the bizarre and usual seemed to be a common occurrence. So much so that her standards were growing and changing by the day. Gone were the days when meeting another mutant was a cause for celebration. Given that she'd met and helped defeat what amounted to the mutant god, not a lot could surprise her.
Going to sleep and waking up in another place shouldn't have been surprising as it was except that she didn't seem to be imprisoned or held against her will. If she'd even remembered being drugged, that might have explained something. Instead, all she knew was going to sleep in her bedroom at the school and the next, she was...here. Wherever 'here' was.
An island of some sort, she decided after leaving the house she'd been 'assigned'. A series of islands, really, all small enough that they could have been nearly anywhere and Raven would have found it hard to judge even with a map.
She'd been waylaid after leaving the boat she'd woken up on by people who claimed to be there to answer her questions, but she wasn't sure who or what she could trust. She wasn't even sure she could trust her own experiences - she'd met too many people like Charles for that to ever be a certainty - but it was the best she had. She steeled herself, picked a random direction, and began walking.
She ducked her head in one door and saw technology unlike anything she'd ever seen before. Another door held flowers. And then there were...children? Was someone kidnapping children? Her eyes flashed gold as she felt a sudden surge of anger. They looked happy enough, but it was still kidnapping. Who knew if their parents were on the island at all.

getting settled
Today in his wandering, he has a baby with him, strapped in a body carrier. Lorna seems to think that having something to do will help deal with having no powers, and he doesn't mind babysitting. When he notices someone familiar, it's enough for a feeling of relief to wash over him. As much as he doesn't want anyone else to be stuck here, he's glad it's Raven. If he were to be honest with himself, he's missed her. Even if the last time he'd seen her, she'd shot him. He knows it could have ended so much differently than it did.
"Raven?"
no subject
But there he was, a baby clutched to his chest, and he looked all the world as if it was the right thing to be doing. It was somehow incongruous, even though she knew he'd been a father. That wasn't the Erik she knew.
And yet it was still him.
She just looked between baby and - father? - Erik, the question clear in her face.
no subject
He should probably back up and start from the beginning. "She's my...daughter. Not her," he indicates the baby, "her mother. From my life before I met you and Charles."
no subject
It was a topic she tried not to think about. She didn't have any maternal instincts and, if she did, they were well hidden.
"Want to try again?"
no subject
"Her mother's name is Lorna Dane. Her mother's name was Suzanne Dane. She and her husband died in a plane crash when Lorna was four. I thought that it would be better if she were raised by her aunt and uncle in a stable home than by me. I've wondered a few times lately if that was the right decision, but it's done." Lorna can confirm anything he's just told her, if necessary.
He looks down at the baby again. "Her name is Erika."
no subject
"You had a pretty stable life for a while there," she pointed out. Although she knew what he was referring to. That vendetta of his. It was no life for a child. But he'd given up a life of retribution for the family life once. Why hadn't he done it the first time? Sometimes she wondered whether she really knew Erik at all; he was always such a mystery to her.
If this even was Erik. With everything she'd seen so far, it was hard to believe her eyes.

Getting Settled
This had to be some sort of dream or mad hallucination. Raven, or Mystique was on his mind often, but she couldn't possibly be real could she?
"Excuse me, but what book did I read to you at the mansion?"
no subject
"You read a lot of books to me. We did grow up there. You'll have to be more specific." She held up a hand to stop him. "But while I appreciate that you're keeping your mind to yourself, finally, wouldn't it just be easier to take a peek? I promise to think harmless thoughts."
One of the few things she had to thank Emma for was that she'd learned to fend off telepaths. Maybe not forever or even for a long time, but enough that she could keep her mind to herself for a little while. At least, unless Charles was in Cerebro. But Cerebro wasn't here.
no subject
"I used to use my gift to gain advantage, but then I truly learned just how powerful and dangerous I can be, but I have to say that I've grown accustomed to that gentle hum, and now it's gone. It's disheartening."
no subject
She narrowed her eyes. "You're wondering if I'm really Raven. Maybe you're the one who's not who you say you are. Why am I supposed to believe that you're really Charles Xavier?"
Her heart said one thing, but she'd long since learned not to trust her heart when it came to Charles. Her heart was what always seemed to get her in trouble when it came to Erik and Charles had known her longer. Maybe not better, but they had a shared history that was dangerous.
no subject
Charles knew his sister well, even if she is loathed to admit it. He can understand why she is so resistant to believe him. He was always much more trusting than either her or Erik.
"So ask me something that only Charles Xavier would know?"
no subject
"Who was I pretending to be the very first time we met?"
She'd told Erik this story and, by extension, possibly Emma, but neither were in a position to have shared that even if there'd been a reason. But there was a possibility that someone who knew what she could do could guess. It wasn't like there'd been a bevy of adult figured in Charles' life. So she added the next question.
"And what did I offer to get you to go back to bed?"

but do you mean mutant like someone with a mutation
or mutant like an insult
no subject
no subject
[Good, because he'd probably be called a mutant, among many other insults, if people at his school knew about his ability.]
is there a reason you're asking about mutants?
no subject
no subject
[Sorry, Raven; he's from a world where there are mutant-like people, people with varying psychic abilities but no actual mutants or schools for them.]
no subject
[So he didn't go to the school. Didn't mean he wasn't a mutant and hadn't heard of it, though. However unlikely it was that he knew the term without hearing about the school.]
How do you know the term mutants when you're talking about people?
