Welcome to Medietas and our first ever Test Drive Meme! As we approach the grand opening of the game on April 1st, we thought we’d kick things off with a little something that will get you all interacting in the new setting! And it’s one less sample you have to worry about on your application if you’re considering our little game here.

You all know what to do but if you don’t, just follow the instructions and HAVE FUN!

How To Play:

→ Comment with the character you’d like to test drive. Don’t forget to add their name and canon in the subject line.
→ Choose a scenario, or start your own!
→ Tag around!


Possible Scenarios:

1. New Arrival: You’ve just arrived on the island of Medietas, in the city of Aerilon via a … floating boat, with people you may or may not know? You can’t help but ponder what’s going on here, but the vessel seems to be approaching a harbor and when it docks, some lovely locals are standing in wait to greet you. After that they hand you a map and communications device and invite you to find your accommodations and explore.

2. Party, party!: On the evening of your first night in the city, a party is being thrown on Aerilon in honor of your arrival. Eat, mingle, dance, meet the other new arrivals! The locals put on quite the celebration!

3. Go Exploring!: There's plenty of places to explore, be it in your designated housing area, or on one of the adjoining community islands! Hike the mountains in Eurus. Sit on the beaches of Imber with a cocktail, or go swimming. Adventure in the forests of Mundus. Be careful though! Every area has it's dangers.

4. The Bells Are Ringing!: And that means a islands wide warning that something dangerous is approaching! But where the heck are they coming from? Nevermind that, the caretakers rally the children and the senior citizens while Scykal, Imber's local sea monster, emerges from the large body of water on the island.  Interesting.  He hasn't been spotted in a long time.  Help the locals defeat him!

"Well, anyone can be killed unless you're a true immortal and those are statistically very rare. I only know of three documented cases. But if you mean will they intentionally kill you for being from Underground - I'm assuming since you've used the term upperworlders that's what you mean - I doubt it. They wouldn't have brought you up here otherwise."

Funnily, not that ne would know it, but Weyland is also from an underground society who uses the term 'up worlders' to describe those from, well, above.

"Can you sustain yourself with normal up world sized insects?"

He allows the spider.. person to take his hand, mostly because why the hell not? This place is hell... nothing is going to make it worse ... right now.

"The upperworlders hunt my kind... They come down into the caves and slaughter everyone they can find, usually once a month," ne said sadly. "Even children and the eight-feet. To suddenly be brought out among them is..." Ne squeezed his hand, taking comfort from having someone nearby. "I don't understand..."

Ne shook nir head and tried to focus on addressing the more immediate issue of finding food. "Upperworld insects? Are they different? I have never surfaced before."

"They're small." With his free hand he made a size of an upworld insect, say a bee. "We're not in your world any more. We're not in mine either."

Headache induced sigh.

[gentlespider]

"I'd have to eat quite a lot to make even a snack," ne mused. "But I don't see why they wouldn't be edible. Where are you from?" ne asked curiously, finally daring to smile at him.

Nir teeth were jagged, like broken glass. It wasn't a pretty smile.

"Hopefully they will provide you with better sized insects." The smile is interesting and he barely blinks at it. It's been that sort of day. "I grew up near Fair Hill in the Underground."

[gentlespider]

"You are from the Underground as well!" ne said excitedly. Sadly, it's just the same name for two very different places. "I did not know there were your kind down below. You must live in a different section to my family. Were you adopted? How?"

[weylandtime]

"Um. No... I probably came from a place with the same name as yours, but a different world. We don't have people like you ... that I know of. I mean the Underground is a large place with gateways and portals everywhere. Uncle Merrick might know of your kind, but he likes researching really rare and strange anomalies." Weyland knows enough about portals in the Underground that's how he ended up a Time Regulator.

Well, that and his penchant for paperwork.

"Oh... Yes, it's a very sensible name for people who live beneath the earth," ne said, laughing awkwardly.

"But I have always had a question about your kind... How can you see?" ne asks, reaching over to pass a hand in front of his eyes. "Your field of vision must be so limited...and your depth perception..."

[weylandtime]

"I'm actually an eighth vampire and quarter elf so I have decent dark vision," Weyland said, eyes crossing at the hand waving. "I know I don't have very good peripheral vision, but I couldn't tell you the science behind any of it."
