Welcome to Medietas and our first ever Test Drive Meme! As we approach the grand opening of the game on April 1st, we thought we’d kick things off with a little something that will get you all interacting in the new setting! And it’s one less sample you have to worry about on your application if you’re considering our little game here.
You all know what to do but if you don’t, just follow the instructions and HAVE FUN!
How To Play:
→ Comment with the character you’d like to test drive. Don’t forget to add their name and canon in the subject line.
→ Choose a scenario, or start your own!
→ Tag around!
Possible Scenarios:
1. New Arrival: You’ve just arrived on the island of Medietas, in the city of Aerilon via a … floating boat, with people you may or may not know? You can’t help but ponder what’s going on here, but the vessel seems to be approaching a harbor and when it docks, some lovely locals are standing in wait to greet you. After that they hand you a map and communications device and invite you to find your accommodations and explore.
2. Party, party!: On the evening of your first night in the city, a party is being thrown on Aerilon in honor of your arrival. Eat, mingle, dance, meet the other new arrivals! The locals put on quite the celebration!
3. Go Exploring!: There's plenty of places to explore, be it in your designated housing area, or on one of the adjoining community islands! Hike the mountains in Eurus. Sit on the beaches of Imber with a cocktail, or go swimming. Adventure in the forests of Mundus. Be careful though! Every area has it's dangers.
4. The Bells Are Ringing!: And that means a islands wide warning that something dangerous is approaching! But where the heck are they coming from? Nevermind that, the caretakers rally the children and the senior citizens while Scykal, Imber's local sea monster, emerges from the large body of water on the island. Interesting. He hasn't been spotted in a long time. Help the locals defeat him!
5. Wild Card!: Choose your own scenario!
Anders | Dragon Age 2 | option 1
Isabela. Boat. Why hadn't he thought of that before.
"Very funny. Is this how we treat people who keep you from bleeding to death?...or infecting the entirety of Kirkwall?" Anders sat up, crossing this arms over his chest, waiting for the
whoreduelist to show herself. And tried to figure out how she had managed to knock him out and get him here. Where ever he was."Isabela." Anders called out. "Hawke? ........Fenris?" Okay, sure that last one was more desperation than anything else. The elf would probably just leave him there.
no subject
"Um. About that," she interjects as she carefully leans back against the rail so she won't have to worry so much about her knee. "Your friends didn't do this."
Not that she has any good explanations to share. Damn.
no subject
"You know if you wanted to see me all you had to do was come to the clinic. Not kidnap me. How did you manage to do that anyway?" Anders wasn't exactly keen on anyone sneaking up on him. Templars were everywhere, and apostates who weren't careful usually ended up dead. Or Tranquil.
"And where are we? I don't recognized the area."
no subject
"And the locals haven't exactly explained themselves either. I woke up one of of these ships too a few weeks ago. So far-- Nothing." She frowns slightly not liking she can't tell him more. Brenda hates not having more information.
"Oh. My leg." Right. She just glances at it and shrugs. "It can't be healed. It's.... a bit complicated. But it won't get better."
no subject
Anders added, now that he was feeling more certain she wasn't responsible. And even if she was, he could just walk away at a reasonable pace and probably outlast her.
"I'm Anders," he introduced himself, eyeing the stick she was holding and trying to figure out if it was a walking stick or a mages staff. Or a very large piece of kindling.
no subject
"Actually, I have a brace that I have on now. It's supposed to help stabilize the joint so when I try bending I'm not putting too much stress on it.... It's just that the knee tends to start slipping out of place. Often." And she won't go into the other problems because frankly the pain is the least of her worries.
"Brenda." She tilts her head slightly. "Is there something else you'd like to know? I'm not really in the habit of hiding things. There's not much point."
no subject
"I'll take a look." Anders replied.
"Well, you don't know where we are, or who we got here, or I'm assuming how to get back. I'm beginning to think it might be easier to just ask you what you do know."
no subject
"They were expecting us. Our names and everything," Brenda starts with a shrug. "I found a few of my possessions had been brought here without my knowledge and placed in this.... little house they had set up for me."
She doesn't appear happy about that but touches a finger to a moon stone pendant she has with her. It was one of her things.
"I'm a little leery of the fact they had my notes. I don't like people prying into my research. But so far they seem to be pretty content to let us wander between the islands. The castle on the central island is closed up right now. I guess whoever really runs this place must be inside.... But I'm not about to poke around there until there's more information out there. Like why we're here. I'm not... exactly well thought of back home but it's not like I did anything wrong."
no subject
"Well at least they're prepared for their kidnap victims. Maybe they even have food." Anders could use some food. Maybe even something that wasn't prepared in the hanged man or the sewers. Amazing. "Don't poke around until we know more. Or have some more numbers. For all you know we've been kidnapped by sentient giant spiders and they're fattening us up for a tasty meal. "
no subject
"Fine. If you insist." There is no bite to her tone she's just resigned.
"They had food. Fairly decent." That gets her to smile a bit. "I know. I already 'outted' myself to some of the others about my skill set. To get people thinking."
no subject
"Good. Now that's out of the way." Anders gave her a grin. "And what do you mean 'outed?" He asked carefully, not wanting to give away another mage if magic was dangerous and looked down upon here, but if she didn't mean magic?
no subject
"Apparently we've been pulled from different worlds. Literally. Some of these people had no idea magic was real. Or if it is real like in my world, it works differently." Not even afraid at this point because that part seems gone Brenda focuses so she can at least pull a bit of fire into focus. The sparks dance briefly in the palm of her hand before she lets go of the spell and gives her hand a shake.
It always feels strange to not use a full spell. "No one has said anything about it. It's gotten to the point where some of us can openly discuss theory without being worried about unnerving anyone."
Re: Anders | Dragon Age 2 | option 1
There's a pause. "Where ever here is."
Re: Anders | Dragon Age 2 | option 1
And then he'd get out of here. If it was one thing Anders was good at, it was escaping. Either that or he'd sit here and wait for Hawke to find him.
Re: Anders | Dragon Age 2 | option 1
Rory's all for getting out.
Re: Anders | Dragon Age 2 | option 1
"Blackthorn? I don't recognize it," the rather British sounding man replied. "I was in Kirkwall." Okay, he was in the sewers in Kirkwall, but picky picky.
Re: Anders | Dragon Age 2 | option 1
He sounds British, but he certainly doesn't look British to Rory's knowledge. At least in regards to the clothing. Rory himself is County Cork, Eire/Ireland. "We're south of Kirkwall, in Eire."
Re: Anders | Dragon Age 2 | option 1
"Someone's not going to be very happy you've abandoned your post," Anders teased in a sing-song voice.
In terms of Anders clothing he was wearing white feathered pauldrons that made him look like he was molting, and had more buckles than any person had use for. And he probably need a bath, considering he lived in Dark Town. Which was pretty much a sewer.
Re: Anders | Dragon Age 2 | option 1
"Ceilidh! No throwing rocks at people!"
"He said you abandoned your post! Only stupid poopy heads say that!"
"Ceilidh!"
"Fiiiiiineeee..." she rolled her eyes as only a small child could do. "I'm sorry for throwing a rock at you Mr. Stupid Poopyhead."
Glancing at Anders, the adult looked much more apologetic than the child did.
Re: Anders | Dragon Age 2 | option 1
He looked at Rory, smiling and amused. " Usually kids only come to me when there's something wrong. It's nice to see one with such fire. But you might want to keep an eye on her. We don't know where we are and she might accidentally piss off the wrong person. For all we know, we're in a land where the roast children and season them with rosemary."
Re: Anders | Dragon Age 2 | option 1
On her perch, Ceilidh beamed at the compliment. "I'm going to be a super sekrit assassin princess and kill anyone who might hurt people when I grow up like my Auntie Grace!" This is from a girl wearing pink t-shirt with a rainbow unicorn pony declaring 'friends are the best!' on it.
"Why's that?"
Crossing his arms, Rory snorted. "Fire. Yeah, that's one way to put it. And don't worry, I've got my eye on her."
He did manage to grab that rock pretty easily even if he didn't seem to be paying attention.
"I'm Rory McCallum."
Re: Anders | Dragon Age 2 | option 1
Anders was sure he'd hear about that one later.
"I'm..." The apostate hesitated. He didn't like giving out his name, but, they weren't even in Kirkwall, and he didn't see any Templars around. Well, if there were they still had to catch him. "I'm Anders." No one knew his real name, except perhaps the Hero of Ferelden. They had come to Kinloch hold around the same time. Hopefully they weren't going to tell anyone anytime soon. If they even knew were to find him. His phylactery was still out there though. Made him nervous. Any Templar who got their hands on that could track him down. And it wouldn't be pretty.
Re: Anders | Dragon Age 2 | option 1
"I WANT TO BE A PIRATE ASSASSIN PRINCESS!!" she yelled, bouncing.
He'll hear about it now, too, apparently.
"Nice to meet you." Rory tended to give his real name. Either they didn't know who his family was and if they did know who he was they knew exactly who he was and what he could do. Anders doesn't recognize the name, which meant that Rory would be a bit more careful in what he shows what he can do.
As much as he can with Ceilidh yelling about his sister being an assassin.
