Welcome to Medietas and our first ever Test Drive Meme! As we approach the grand opening of the game on April 1st, we thought we’d kick things off with a little something that will get you all interacting in the new setting! And it’s one less sample you have to worry about on your application if you’re considering our little game here.

You all know what to do but if you don’t, just follow the instructions and HAVE FUN!

How To Play:

→ Comment with the character you’d like to test drive. Don’t forget to add their name and canon in the subject line.
→ Choose a scenario, or start your own!

Possible Scenarios:

1. New Arrival: You’ve just arrived on the island of Medietas, in the city of Aerilon via a … floating boat, with people you may or may not know? You can’t help but ponder what’s going on here, but the vessel seems to be approaching a harbor and when it docks, some lovely locals are standing in wait to greet you. After that they hand you a map and communications device and invite you to find your accommodations and explore.

2. Party, party!: On the evening of your first night in the city, a party is being thrown on Aerilon in honor of your arrival. Eat, mingle, dance, meet the other new arrivals! The locals put on quite the celebration!

3. Go Exploring!: There's plenty of places to explore, be it in your designated housing area, or on one of the adjoining community islands! Hike the mountains in Eurus. Sit on the beaches of Imber with a cocktail, or go swimming. Adventure in the forests of Mundus. Be careful though! Every area has it's dangers.

4. The Bells Are Ringing!: And that means a islands wide warning that something dangerous is approaching! But where the heck are they coming from? Nevermind that, the caretakers rally the children and the senior citizens while Scykal, Imber's local sea monster, emerges from the large body of water on the island.  Interesting.  He hasn't been spotted in a long time.  Help the locals defeat him!

"I think a spaceship to travel an area this size might be overkill," he points out, eyebrows raised. "A car would be better. Or, since they don't seem to be a thing here, a horse."

Hera looks puzzled. "What is a car...or a horse? Never heard of those things before."

[lotsoflaughs]

Gabriel snaps his fingers to bring a toy car that just so happens to resemble a certain Impala and toy horse into existence to hand over to her to look at. "The thing with wheels is a car. The other is a horse. Obviously, those aren't anywhere near full-size."

Hera glances over the horse for a second and nods, but the car completely captures her attention. She turns the toy over and over in her hands looking amazed. "And people fly these," she asks holding up the car.

[lotsoflaughs]

Gabriel shakes his head. "Drive. See the wheels? The only time they leave the ground is when some dumbass drives them off a cliff or something. At which point they start plummeting."

Hera looks puzzled as she tries to wrap her head tails around the idea of wheels. "Don't the people who make cars fly? Why would they want to stay stuck on the ground?"

[lotsoflaughs]

"Probably because the technology on the planet cars are on isn't as advanced as what you're used to," Gabriel points out. "There's jetliners to ferry multiple people from place to place between airports and a variety of military planes, but both transportation happens on the ground. With some on an ocean or sea."

[thisismyship]

"Planes," Hera says musing out loud, "that's a funny word to call a ship."

[lotsoflaughs]

"They're not ships. Either the kind that float on water or the ones that fly through space. You really think that people who have modes of transportation that involves wheels are gonna have far along enough for intergalactic travel?" Like he said. Nowhere what she's used to in terms of technology.

[thisismyship]

"I like to think anyone could do anything desptie their species and intelligence level," Hera replies gently, "don't you?"

[lotsoflaughs]

"I'm saying that a hundred years ago, most humans on the planet I've been living on were using horses to get around," Gabriel says with a shrug. "They're still figuring out inter-system travel."

[thisismyship]

"They'll get there," Hera replies, "just give them time.Hope of the stars is sometimes all we have."

[lotsoflaughs]

"I know. Last I heard, they were trying to figure out logistics for getting to the next planet out, since the trip'll take a few months at least. Wouldn't do for the astronauts to run out of food. Or fuel." It's said with a shrug. He's pretty sure they're at least a few years away from figuring it out.

[thisismyship]

"We don't have that problem...well much. Hyperdrive takes care of the time jump. We do run low on fuel more often then not," Hera admitted.

[lotsoflaughs]

"Well, they're still at the beginning of their Space Age," he points out. "It'll be some time before they work out faster than light travel. It'll also be awhile before they actually need it, since they'll just be puttering around their system. Maybe in a few centuries, they'll need to figure it out."
