Welcome to Medietas and our first ever Test Drive Meme! As we approach the grand opening of the game on April 1st, we thought we’d kick things off with a little something that will get you all interacting in the new setting! And it’s one less sample you have to worry about on your application if you’re considering our little game here.
You all know what to do but if you don’t, just follow the instructions and HAVE FUN!
How To Play:
→ Comment with the character you’d like to test drive. Don’t forget to add their name and canon in the subject line.
→ Choose a scenario, or start your own!
→ Tag around!
Possible Scenarios:
1. New Arrival: You’ve just arrived on the island of Medietas, in the city of Aerilon via a … floating boat, with people you may or may not know? You can’t help but ponder what’s going on here, but the vessel seems to be approaching a harbor and when it docks, some lovely locals are standing in wait to greet you. After that they hand you a map and communications device and invite you to find your accommodations and explore.
2. Party, party!: On the evening of your first night in the city, a party is being thrown on Aerilon in honor of your arrival. Eat, mingle, dance, meet the other new arrivals! The locals put on quite the celebration!
3. Go Exploring!: There's plenty of places to explore, be it in your designated housing area, or on one of the adjoining community islands! Hike the mountains in Eurus. Sit on the beaches of Imber with a cocktail, or go swimming. Adventure in the forests of Mundus. Be careful though! Every area has it's dangers.
4. The Bells Are Ringing!: And that means a islands wide warning that something dangerous is approaching! But where the heck are they coming from? Nevermind that, the caretakers rally the children and the senior citizens while Scykal, Imber's local sea monster, emerges from the large body of water on the island. Interesting. He hasn't been spotted in a long time. Help the locals defeat him!
5. Wild Card!: Choose your own scenario!
Hope van Dyne | Ant Man | #2
Hope wonders if there's something wrong with her that she's not having as much fun as she should.
Sitting on the fringes of the revelry, Hope nurses a glass of something like wine, watching the party go on around her and all she can think of is home. Not just her father, and the company that she's now responsible for, but the guy she still can't figure the hell out...
She hates herself for thinking about Scott. She hates Scott more for making her think about him.
Because somehow, some way, this is all his fault.]

Most people would never notice an insect flitting through the air and landing on their sleeve, but Hope isn't most people. (She'd better not be because if she were, that guy she can't stop thinking about would be down one carpenter Antoinette.]
no subject
...then she stills, frowning at it curiously as she squints.
No, it can't--can it? Is that...]
...Scott?

Her hand trembles as she gently scoops up the ant on her sleeve and places it on the seat next to her. She's steady as she stands, though, and moves over to Scott.
And she's steady as a rock as she draws back to punch him.
She doesn't start trembling again until she hugs him a moment later, and far less than she was shaking a moment before.
Because however she feels about Scott Lang at any given time...he's a familiar face. He's here, and she's not alone.
And right now, that's the most important thing in the world to her: not being alone when the world gets turned upside down. Again.]
no subject
He's no less dazed when she hugs him but his reaction is immediate: he wraps his arms around her and squeezes her in the biggest bear hug his lean frame can provide. She's shaking, and that scares him a little. He's never seen Hope shake before, not even when Cross trapped him and shot Hank.]
Come on. [He zeroes in on the most secluded spot he can find, away from listening ears. The carpenter ant follows dutifully after them.]
What's going on, Hope?
["What's going on". As if they're still in Hank's basement, not in some fantastical city somewhere that is definitely not earth.]
no subject
The hug helped, though. He gives good hugs...so she goes for a second one, wrapping her arms around his neck and pressing her face to his shoulder until the shaking stops and she can think again.
It takes a few minutes, but it does happen. She's grateful for that as she finally draws back to look him in the eye.]
You're here. That's what's going on. [She manages a wan smile before rubbing her hands briskly over her face while she finishes collecting herself.] It's actually a good thing right now, promise.
no subject
The second hug isn't as big as the first but it's tight and comforting. Hope has been an amazing friend and ally to him the entire time he's known her, even when they didn't get along. He's always respected her, and seeing her vulnerable is worrisome. Her answer, however, was the opposite of anything he might have expected.]
Yeah, I'm here. You're stuck with me, I can promise you that. [He nudges her shoulder and gives her another crooked grin. Despite all the weird things he's been through and done, he doubts he could manage them even a fifth as well without Hope Van Dyne; there is no shortage of relief she's here.]
no subject
She doesn't need him. She doesn't need anyone. At least, she didn't until he up and kissed her in her father's fricking hallway...]
I guess I just lost it a little when I saw a boat sail on air. [She rolls her eyes a little, trying to make light of her disquiet.] Not exactly alien ships or government issue helicarriers, right?
no subject
[He's running his mouth, casual conversation that she can drown out easily. This is the speculation of a man who only knows as much as she does, if that. He's barely even paying attention to himself. What matters is that she's here.]
no subject
That's--actually a pretty solid theory. [Blinking a little, she nods.] I think that's the one I'll go with for the time being. [And for the sake of her own sanity.
Scott is here. She's not alone. She can function again--be Hope van Dyne again with a touchstone from home.
Taking a deep breath, she finally remembers the carpenter ant and regards him curiously.]
Did you bring the ant with you? Or did you find it here? If local insect life can be controlled through the earpiece, that could seriously work to our advantage...
no subject
Antoinette? [Don't laugh, a punny ant name still sounds better than "number 322" or whatever she was.] She came in with me. I haven't tried with anything else, the insects here are weird.
