Welcome to Medietas and our first ever Test Drive Meme! As we approach the grand opening of the game on April 1st, we thought we’d kick things off with a little something that will get you all interacting in the new setting! And it’s one less sample you have to worry about on your application if you’re considering our little game here.
You all know what to do but if you don’t, just follow the instructions and HAVE FUN!
How To Play:
→ Comment with the character you’d like to test drive. Don’t forget to add their name and canon in the subject line.
→ Choose a scenario, or start your own!
→ Tag around!
Possible Scenarios:
1. New Arrival: You’ve just arrived on the island of Medietas, in the city of Aerilon via a … floating boat, with people you may or may not know? You can’t help but ponder what’s going on here, but the vessel seems to be approaching a harbor and when it docks, some lovely locals are standing in wait to greet you. After that they hand you a map and communications device and invite you to find your accommodations and explore.
2. Party, party!: On the evening of your first night in the city, a party is being thrown on Aerilon in honor of your arrival. Eat, mingle, dance, meet the other new arrivals! The locals put on quite the celebration!
3. Go Exploring!: There's plenty of places to explore, be it in your designated housing area, or on one of the adjoining community islands! Hike the mountains in Eurus. Sit on the beaches of Imber with a cocktail, or go swimming. Adventure in the forests of Mundus. Be careful though! Every area has it's dangers.
4. The Bells Are Ringing!: And that means a islands wide warning that something dangerous is approaching! But where the heck are they coming from? Nevermind that, the caretakers rally the children and the senior citizens while Scykal, Imber's local sea monster, emerges from the large body of water on the island. Interesting. He hasn't been spotted in a long time. Help the locals defeat him!
5. Wild Card!: Choose your own scenario!
no subject
"My husband uses me ill. I do not know if he will show up here or not."
no subject
"A husband should cherish his wife and see to her needs before his own." yes, he is speaking from experience there too, "Why has your husband failed in that regard?"
no subject
"He simply needs the claim on my lands. He's going to kill me before I can ever bear him a son. I'm afraid he might come here. That's why I pray to the gods...I prayed and you came."
no subject
"I will not stand for such; you need not fear."
Sansa isn't one of his people, but she is a child who has been abused. Thranduil is not hard-hearted enough to refuse her aid.
"The gods did not bring me to you." however he does take a moment to glance at the trees, "I know the sounds of the forest and I could sense your unease before you spoke." he smiles faintly as a butterfly lands on his shoulder, "A child should never feel fear. I do not know your parents' reasoning for marrying you so young, but I will sunder the bond myself."
no subject
"My parents are dead, my lord." Sansa is not certain who this man is but he is kind and gentle and she's grateful for it. It's been a long while since she's felt she could trust anyone.
"I'm sorry, I haven't introduced myself. I'm Sansa, of House Stark."
no subject
"Well met, Lady Sansa. I am King Thranduil of the Greenwood." though it is currently called Mirkwood thanks to Sauron's nasty influence.
no subject
"I am no traitor. I assure you of this."
no subject
It brings back bad memories and he has very little patience for those involved.
"A child does as their parents dictate. To punish you for such is not only cruel but idiotic." his fierce anger dies down long enough for him to add, "You say perceived treason. Your father was not, then, treasonous?"
no subject
"He spoke against a king who was young and foolish. He told him sound advice and was punished for it," Sansa says, lip trembling a bit. It has been a long time since she's told the story of how her father died and even now, after years, she still sees him kneeling on the steps of the Sept of Baelor.
"They promised me that he would just be sent to the Wall, not killed. They promised."
no subject
"A King must do what is best for his people and not cater to his own ego." though that too can be a struggle when faced with old friends or foes, "Your father was a good Man. Do not spend your life mourning his end. He gave you far more than the memories they corrupted."
no subject
His words are a solace to her and Sansa nods, taking them to heart. She barely knows him but only in this small interaction, she feels like Thranduil is a very good king indeed.
"Your words have been so kind, your Grace. Is there some way I could repay you for your kindness to me? Anything at all?"
no subject
"May I inquire as to your age, Lady Sansa?"
no subject
"Eight and ten, your Grace," Sansa says, giving him a kind smile. "Only just, though. I just had my nameday a few weeks ago."
It seems so strange to be that old now, in truth, when Sansa has felt that old for years now.
no subject
"I wish you well in this new year." he frowns sorrowfully. This child couldn't celebrate the day with her mother as she should have done by Arda tradition.
no subject
"Thank you, your Grace. I was married the first time at fourteen," Sansa explains. "Which is very young, to be certain, but I had flowered and it is not uncommon for noble girls to marry very young. This second marriage happened at seventeen."
Sansa doesn't think her marriages happened too young but, again, apparently Westerosi standards were different than those in the king's realm.
no subject
"An Elf is not considered an adult until they reach their first century." and only then would he have considered a match for Legolas, "And we do not marry more than once."
For them, consummating is often the marriage and there is no such thing as cheating on your spouse.
no subject
"I do hope, someday, that I might marry someone who is kind to me. I hope it is a while off, though. I am sick of being married."
no subject
Marriages should be about equality; not dominance.
