T E S T   D R I V E   M E M E

Welcome to Medietas and our first ever Test Drive Meme! As we approach the grand opening of the game on April 1st, we thought we’d kick things off with a little something that will get you all interacting in the new setting! And it’s one less sample you have to worry about on your application if you’re considering our little game here.

You all know what to do but if you don’t, just follow the instructions and HAVE FUN!

How To Play:

→ Comment with the character you’d like to test drive. Don’t forget to add their name and canon in the subject line.
→ Choose a scenario, or start your own!
→ Tag around!

Possible Scenarios:

1. New Arrival: You’ve just arrived on the island of Medietas, in the city of Aerilon via a … floating boat, with people you may or may not know? You can’t help but ponder what’s going on here, but the vessel seems to be approaching a harbor and when it docks, some lovely locals are standing in wait to greet you. After that they hand you a map and communications device and invite you to find your accommodations and explore.

2. Party, party!: On the evening of your first night in the city, a party is being thrown on Aerilon in honor of your arrival. Eat, mingle, dance, meet the other new arrivals! The locals put on quite the celebration!

3. Go Exploring!: There's plenty of places to explore, be it in your designated housing area, or on one of the adjoining community islands! Hike the mountains in Eurus. Sit on the beaches of Imber with a cocktail, or go swimming. Adventure in the forests of Mundus. Be careful though! Every area has it's dangers.

4. The Bells Are Ringing!: And that means a islands wide warning that something dangerous is approaching! But where the heck are they coming from? Nevermind that, the caretakers rally the children and the senior citizens while Scykal, Imber's local sea monster, emerges from the large body of water on the island.  Interesting.  He hasn't been spotted in a long time.  Help the locals defeat him!

5. Wild Card!: Choose your own scenario!

"You know how you guys' kids grow up slower than human ones since being longer-lived, you have more time for that stuff? It's like that. But with bigger numbers. Lots bigger." So Gabriel's emotional maturity can be considered somewhere in the range of a human teenager's.

"Angels have an entire laundry list of powers and archangels have even more. They help for getting a look at what a person is really like. Sure, humans sometimes surprise me, albeit not always in good ways, but..." He shrugs. "Living on Earth among the mortals for a couple thousand years has given me a pretty good look at what they're like. And has resulted in me being more tolerant of things my siblings would frown on."

So here's a belated explanation for the way he talks. Humans have had time to rub off on him in various ways, including things like slang.

"I see." it is an explanation that at least puts his mind at ease, "You are young." but he doesn't need Gabriel's age to know that. The Angel exudes youthful energy - almost, but not quite like a child. His features soften and he looks towards the horizon.

"Are there none who are older than your brother?" it really isn't fair to put that burden on the younger brother's shoulders, "I have encountered Men now and then, yet I much prefer the language and habits of my kin."

Compared to other Elves, Thranduil is...wilder. He is closer to nature by far and he embodies both the wisdom and naivetΓ© of the forest.

Time for Gabriel to start ticking off siblings on his fingers. "Michael is oldest. Then Lucifer, who's the one I have, um, issues with, then Raphael, then me. Then thousands of younger angels of varying ranks who are nowhere near our levels. I'm not listing them off, because we'd be here all week."

He's not reciting names for that long. No way. He'd probably manage to forget someone or list them more than once, anyway. After a couple thousand, it gets to the point of '...Did I say this one's name?'.

"What does Michael make of Lucifer? Why has he not intervened? It is the duty of the eldest to keep order." Thranduil is reminded sickeningly of another group of brothers. He prays these Angels do not follow in their footsteps. The world would not survive it.

"Can you pair your might with Raphael's?" there are options and he wishes to test each one. He does not detect any lies from Gabriel, which means that this Lucifer is indeed a grave threat.

"Considering our brother got jealous when humans replaced him as Dad's favorite, resulting in him rebelling and doing things like twist one into the first demon? Michael isn't too happy with him. He actually got locked up for a few thousand years on Dad's orders before he got free. The back-up plan I mentioned? Was to get him shoved back in there." This is probably sounding horribly familiar, given Morgoth, isn't it? Apparently there's an over-powered black sheep in every universe.

He imagines demons are much like Orcs. The story is very familiar and, if names are replaced, very like the tale of Arda. Eru favors the Elves - not Morgoth - and he makes ManwΓ« the King of the Valar as well as the only one who can communicate with him - not Morgoth. One can hardly blame Eru's choice, yet it was a catalyst for the Dark Valar's rebellion.

"I am beginning to think Lucifer and Morgoth are one and the same."

"If Morgoth got to go from everybody's favorite and generally getting whatever he wanted to no longer being the favorite and kinda pissed off about it, sure." Not that he thinks Lucifer would appreciate the comparison. Not to mention his field of fucks on that score is barren.

"It is similar. Morgoth is, without a doubt, the most powerful of the Valar, yet Eru favors...others. I think he knew of his child's Darkness." but then one must ask: why let Morgoth continue existing?

Every Elf knows there is a balance to such things. Darkness must exist for Light to penetrate it.

"He has been known to twist and corrupt those Eru favors into images that are both monstrous and disturbing."

"Michael's the strongest of us. Maybe Dad went 'hmm, maybe I should dial the power levels of the next one back a bit'." Who even knows. While Gabriel has asked God plenty of things in a 'young and wants to know everything' sort of way, that's not one of the things he asked.

"My brother hadn't been really given much of a chance to do that after the first few. The ones he'd made took over from there." Given he had been locked up where he couldn't cause problems.
