Welcome to Medietas and our first ever Test Drive Meme! As we approach the grand opening of the game on April 1st, we thought we’d kick things off with a little something that will get you all interacting in the new setting! And it’s one less sample you have to worry about on your application if you’re considering our little game here.
You all know what to do but if you don’t, just follow the instructions and HAVE FUN!
How To Play:
→ Comment with the character you’d like to test drive. Don’t forget to add their name and canon in the subject line.
→ Choose a scenario, or start your own!
→ Tag around!
Possible Scenarios:
1. New Arrival: You’ve just arrived on the island of Medietas, in the city of Aerilon via a … floating boat, with people you may or may not know? You can’t help but ponder what’s going on here, but the vessel seems to be approaching a harbor and when it docks, some lovely locals are standing in wait to greet you. After that they hand you a map and communications device and invite you to find your accommodations and explore.
2. Party, party!: On the evening of your first night in the city, a party is being thrown on Aerilon in honor of your arrival. Eat, mingle, dance, meet the other new arrivals! The locals put on quite the celebration!
3. Go Exploring!: There's plenty of places to explore, be it in your designated housing area, or on one of the adjoining community islands! Hike the mountains in Eurus. Sit on the beaches of Imber with a cocktail, or go swimming. Adventure in the forests of Mundus. Be careful though! Every area has it's dangers.
4. The Bells Are Ringing!: And that means a islands wide warning that something dangerous is approaching! But where the heck are they coming from? Nevermind that, the caretakers rally the children and the senior citizens while Scykal, Imber's local sea monster, emerges from the large body of water on the island. Interesting. He hasn't been spotted in a long time. Help the locals defeat him!
5. Wild Card!: Choose your own scenario!
no subject
For a moment, she thinks she recognizes someone. It's the scent of roses on the air, a gentle fall of curls catching the light - it takes her a little while to realize that yes, it is Margaery Tyrell and she's not simply imagining it.]
You're an awful long way from Highgarden, my lady.
[Her voice is gentle and teasing, light in the way birdsong is on a summer afternoon and it's been a long while since she's sounded like this.]
no subject
There was one that she had regretted, allowing that gentle soul to be tarnished and blackened by Lannister hate.
Without hesitation, she opened her arms to embrace Sansa, hoping that she would not shun her.]
I'm pleased to see you far from King's Landing, no matter where we may be.
no subject
It's been so long since I've seen you. I've missed you terribly.
[How does she tell her friend what's happened to her between then and now? How does she tell the Queen of the Seven Kingdoms that she's been sold into another marriage, this one even more horrifying than the last? Sansa decides not to, at least not for the time being. There's time for that later.]
no subject
Wherever she had ended, it had to be better than where Margaery had left.]
I never thought I would see you again. [She never thought she would see anyone again.] I had hoped I would. It seems the Gods have answered my prayers. You look so well!
no subject
Come, Margaery, let's go for a walk. I'm not entirely certain I want to go to a party just now but seeing a friend makes my heart just a little lighter than it's been in a long, long while. I just want to pretend that nothing has passed since the last time I saw you in King's Landing and we walked among the roses.
Will you pretend with me for a little while?
no subject
Anything Sansa told her, it would be met with sympathy and understanding.
She linked her arm with Sansa's, as she had done so long ago in the gardens of King's Landing, just before her marriage to Joffery.]
I will, Sansa. So long as there is a bit more cheer between us than what we had before. No marriages hanging over us, only a pleasant afternoon.
no subject
I am fair sick of husbands. I think I want to be a widow forever.
[It would be a dangerous thing to say within the walls of King's Landing but here it doesn't seem like there are nearly as many spies. Sansa feels safe enough admitting that to Margaery.]
no subject
Perhaps it is different for a husband you choose? Without the strings of Westeros over us, we have an opportunity to spend our days as we wish.
I have no desire to return.
[The confession comes quickly in her mind, spoken aloud without hesitation or fear. It was so simple, but weighted with truth. She could be happier in this place.]
no subject
Marriage to Lord Tyrion wasn't so terrible, all told, but the second marriage was horrendous. If I never have to perform my duties for a lord husband again, it will be too soon.
[When Margaery says she does not wish to return, it is as if the sentiment is plucked straight from Sansa's own heart and given life from Margaery's lips. She cannot help but nod along.]
I am tired of the games, Margaery. I am tired of crowns and swords and kings. I just want to be Sansa again.
no subject
Who did you marry?
[She pauses in her steps, turning to face Sansa. There was something beneath the surface, her friend's face always easy to read, even when she tried so desperately to lie. It was a gift that Margaery hated to employ towards Sansa, but one she was grateful for now. Something had happened, it was obvious.]
I have nothing to return to. Only death, but I have been spared of it.
no subject
They married me to Lord Bolton's legitimized bastard, Ramsay. He...he used me very ill. I only just escaped with something of me left.
[Sansa doesn't know how much longer she could have survived it, knowing that each day brought more and more pain. She's glad to have come to this place where it seems the Iron Throne doesn't have a hold on her any longer.]
no subject
That she had been married to the Bolton bastard, the family that had betrayed hers, it made Margaery sick.]
I'm so sorry. I wish I had known. Who placed you in the Bolton's grasp?
no subject
Lord Baelish. He claimed he was going to give me Winterfell, that I wouldn't be harmed. He lied.
no subject
I would have protected you, I hope you believe that.
no subject
[Sansa nods. This, she trusts. The Rose of Highgarden has thorns, yes, but she's never shown that to her.]
You are a gracious and gentle queen, your Grace. I am proud to be your friend.
no subject
I'm not even certain that title holds any meaning anymore. It didn't protect me in Westeros.
no subject
You will always be a queen to me, Margaery, and even more than that - you're my friend. But if you would rather me not call you by your style, I am happy to refer to you simply as a friend.
[Sansa smiles a bit but it's the smile of sharing a secret. It's been a long while since she's had cause to smile like this.]
Did you truly want to marry me to Loras or was that just something to say?
no subject
I did want you to marry Loras. I had hoped to protect you from Cersei, as it was clear that she wouldn't spare you from her son. But when Tyrion was offered instead, I thought him a better match.
Loras...he is not the man that you imagine him to be. [She loved her brother, but Sansa would have been heartbroken at the reality of his desires.]
no subject
[Sansa frowns a bit. Loras not the man he seemed? He was a knight, and kind, and Sansa thinks that he was what he seemed upon the surface.]
Loras wouldn't have been cruel to me, I don't believe that. Loras could not possibly be duplicitous. How in the seven could Tyrion be a better match than Loras?
no subject
It was far different than what the Starks seemed to represent.]
Sansa, there are some men that...are not moved to desire by the sight of a woman. Tyrion would have loved you as a woman. Loras...his passions were not so...similar to Tyrion's.
no subject
[Sansa blushes. Perhaps she is a maid flowered and a woman wedded and bedded but there are a great many things she doesn't know about the doings of men and women. This is clearly one of them.]
But...surely the rumors could not have been true. You were Renly's queen! How could King Renly have dishonored you with your own brother, Margaery?
no subject
Ours was a political marriage, not one of love. So long as I was his Queen, he could rely on my family's resources and army. I would be granted the title of his consort. It was mutually beneficial.
It doesn't matter to me if there is another lover, so long as my position is secure. I love my brother and I would die to protect him.
no subject
[Sansa looks away, the blush still staining her cheeks. She knows that marriages aren't meant to have love in them, at this point, but she wants what her parents had. She wants to be loved.]
No marriage is made of love, I think. I don't know why my parents were so lucky. Is it so terrible to want someone to kiss me, to speak kindly to me, to cherish me? That is all I ask. He doesn't have to be handsome. He just has to be kind.
no subject
Love may not exist, but respect and affection can. I believe you can find that kindness, but you must be willing for it to come in strange places. Tyrion was kind to you.
no subject
[Sansa nods. She had been cruel to Tyrion, in a way, and she hated it. He did so much to protect her from his family.]
I owe Tyrion an apology. I was a child then and I am a woman grown now.
