Welcome to Medietas and our first ever Test Drive Meme! As we approach the grand opening of the game on April 1st, we thought we’d kick things off with a little something that will get you all interacting in the new setting! And it’s one less sample you have to worry about on your application if you’re considering our little game here.
You all know what to do but if you don’t, just follow the instructions and HAVE FUN!
How To Play:
→ Comment with the character you’d like to test drive. Don’t forget to add their name and canon in the subject line.
→ Choose a scenario, or start your own!
→ Tag around!
Possible Scenarios:
1. New Arrival: You’ve just arrived on the island of Medietas, in the city of Aerilon via a … floating boat, with people you may or may not know? You can’t help but ponder what’s going on here, but the vessel seems to be approaching a harbor and when it docks, some lovely locals are standing in wait to greet you. After that they hand you a map and communications device and invite you to find your accommodations and explore.
2. Party, party!: On the evening of your first night in the city, a party is being thrown on Aerilon in honor of your arrival. Eat, mingle, dance, meet the other new arrivals! The locals put on quite the celebration!
3. Go Exploring!: There's plenty of places to explore, be it in your designated housing area, or on one of the adjoining community islands! Hike the mountains in Eurus. Sit on the beaches of Imber with a cocktail, or go swimming. Adventure in the forests of Mundus. Be careful though! Every area has it's dangers.
4. The Bells Are Ringing!: And that means a islands wide warning that something dangerous is approaching! But where the heck are they coming from? Nevermind that, the caretakers rally the children and the senior citizens while Scykal, Imber's local sea monster, emerges from the large body of water on the island. Interesting. He hasn't been spotted in a long time. Help the locals defeat him!
5. Wild Card!: Choose your own scenario!
no subject
Giving him a sideways glance, she shrugs. "Some might but none I've come across. Truthfully, I never deal with them when they are sleeping. That would be too easy."
no subject
"Easy? You're kidding, right?" he replies incredulously. "You...fight vampires, and you're looking for a challenge?"
no subject
"Well, truthfully, finding them while they are sleeping is nearly impossible since their sleeping places are hidden and usually well protected." She doesn't know why she is bothering to explain. "I was just saying."
no subject
Not from what he was hearing.
"Thought you said you didn't serve." he mused as a tiny smile tugged at the corner of his mouth. "Finding vampires where they sleep...too easy, drill sergeant. You sound like some of the boys I trained with in Basic."
no subject
"Oh yeah?" She asked then with a small smile of her own. "Is that a good or a bad thing?"
no subject
"Last gal to ask me a question that sounded like that wore a uniform and slugged a fella twice her size for lookin' at her cross eyed. Put him down, too." he replies with a soft laugh, reaching up to rub the side of his nose in a nervous gesture. "I'll admit: I don't have much experience with woman? But what little I've had's taught me never to trust one that can't take me in a fight."
no subject
"So you only trust women that can beat you?" Now she was rather open about letting her eyes trail over him from head to toe in assessment. "Because I can't imagine many women, or men, could actually take you."
no subject
One that's clearly about seventy years old.
"That's me before I joined the army."
no subject
"How..." She offered the picture back. "I mean, that must have been one hell of a workout routine that they gave you."
no subject
The thread of cynicism in her shocked tone is actually a little bit refreshing.
"It was an experimental project executed by a branch of the government called the SSR." he explains as the laughter fades, still chuckling a little as he starts off. "There was a German scientist that sought asylum during the war, name of Erskine. He developed this serum to create super soldiers. I couldn't get myself enlisted until I met him at the World's Fair...got me into the program, and I was selected to test it out."
He absently rubs the back of his neck, then pats his own chest with a smile as he takes a deep, deliberate breath. It's still not something he takes for granted, the absence of that ever present rattle, the wheezing being gone...
"Suffice to say? It worked out all right."
no subject
She remains quiet as he explains then, her eyes flickering down to the picture and then back again. If it wasn't for the fact that she knew Sommerfield had done all the things she had done, she might have told him that she didn't believe him. But she knows these sort of things could happen. They had turned King from a vampire back to human after all.
"Clearly." She replies without thinking, unaware of how the appreciation reads through. She can't help it. He looks good. Really good.
Then she pauses. "Wait, which war?"
no subject
In response, Steve hesitates, reaches up to scratch the back of his head in a nervous gesture...then finally holds up two fingers, watching her to gauge how quickly she catches on.
no subject
She had figured that she would run into a vampire or two but she hadn't expected it this quickly.
no subject
"Hey hey hey--I'm human." he replies. "I may be a science experiment, but I'm human. There was an accident during the War, my plane went down somewhere in the Antarctic. The serum they gave me cranked up my metabolism, add the freezing temperatures to that and I survived a lotta years in a big damn block of ice, okay? I don't drink blood, I love the sun--hell, I'm Irish. You'll find me in Church every damn Sunday, lighting a candle for my mom and dad."
no subject
"Wow, that must have sucked." She murmurs as they start to walk again. "When did you thaw out?"
no subject
"Slept through the turn of the century, bunch of presidents...hemlines skyrocketing." He huffs a little with grim laughter at that and a little shake of his head. "Can't say I mind that one too much. Or the...public conversation about guys and gals that, uh--prefer their own. Glad I woke up to find all that 'don't ask, don't tell' garbage done with. I knew a few boys in basic that might have even lived to see the day they could get hitched. Hope so, anyway."
no subject
"So how bad was the culture shock when you got back?" She asked, glancing down as he kicked a couple more pebbles down the road. She kicked one too, sending it bouncing down the path and ricocheting over one of his. It sent them both scattering a bit.
no subject
"It's a little crazy, the things most folks think would throw me off." he admits, rubbing the back of his neck and gesturing a little as he talks. "In my world, they were using me to sell war bonds and the like before I finally got a combat position, so...the biggest thing is people caring what I have to say on things that are just common sense, y'know? Political shit like homosexuals, women's rights, race--suffice to say, from what I gather about the present? There's too much stupid for one public consciousness, but for the most part people are still decent. The rest? I'm just enjoying myself, catching up on all the pop culture--say, do you listen to any of that, uh, rock and roll music? I've been listening to a lot of it--pretty amazing, right?"
