Welcome to Medietas and our first ever Test Drive Meme! As we approach the grand opening of the game on April 1st, we thought we’d kick things off with a little something that will get you all interacting in the new setting! And it’s one less sample you have to worry about on your application if you’re considering our little game here.
You all know what to do but if you don’t, just follow the instructions and HAVE FUN!
How To Play:
→ Comment with the character you’d like to test drive. Don’t forget to add their name and canon in the subject line.
→ Choose a scenario, or start your own!
→ Tag around!
Possible Scenarios:
1. New Arrival: You’ve just arrived on the island of Medietas, in the city of Aerilon via a … floating boat, with people you may or may not know? You can’t help but ponder what’s going on here, but the vessel seems to be approaching a harbor and when it docks, some lovely locals are standing in wait to greet you. After that they hand you a map and communications device and invite you to find your accommodations and explore.
2. Party, party!: On the evening of your first night in the city, a party is being thrown on Aerilon in honor of your arrival. Eat, mingle, dance, meet the other new arrivals! The locals put on quite the celebration!
3. Go Exploring!: There's plenty of places to explore, be it in your designated housing area, or on one of the adjoining community islands! Hike the mountains in Eurus. Sit on the beaches of Imber with a cocktail, or go swimming. Adventure in the forests of Mundus. Be careful though! Every area has it's dangers.
4. The Bells Are Ringing!: And that means a islands wide warning that something dangerous is approaching! But where the heck are they coming from? Nevermind that, the caretakers rally the children and the senior citizens while Scykal, Imber's local sea monster, emerges from the large body of water on the island. Interesting. He hasn't been spotted in a long time. Help the locals defeat him!
5. Wild Card!: Choose your own scenario!

"I'm Louise," she answered. "Pleasure to make your acquaintance, Lee."
Since he didn't offer a surname, she dispensed with the usual title formalities this time; and, he didn't look like someone who'd stand to be called anything but just his given name.
no subject
"Likewise, Louise." he gave her hand a gentle shake and pulled it back. "I'd ask what you do for a living, but I think I already know. You followed in your father's footsteps, didn't you?"
Her demeanor gave it away, really; the way she paid specific attention to her blazer, the way she talked. All very indicative of an officer.
no subject
"You'd be correct," she laughed gamely. "What gave it away?" The self-deprecating question was mainly to diffuse the fact that she had a reputation for being rather stiff.
"I'm a detective sergeant. Formerly of Scotland Yard, actually."
no subject
He took a handsome swallow of his beer and let it go down slowly. For as long as his parents had been gone, talking about him often left him bitter and angry and that likely showed in the slight twitch in his jaw.
"Followed up until Captain myself."
no subject
"I'm impressed," she declared, drawing in a breath. "SAS Captain...a good thing. I'm sure we could use some muscle 'round here." The curious smile curved into a slow smirk as she lifted a shoulder into a little shrug.
"Wonder if they've police here, anyway...," she continued, her voice drifting a bit as she gazed out the doorway of the tavern.
no subject
"Are you takin' the piss, Louise?" Lee eyed her, giving his bicep a bit of a flex before he downed the last quarter of his beer and set the glass down. He glanced at hers to see how her drink was doing. "Place this big wouldn't surprise me if there was at least some kind of force. Officers don't exactly stick out."
He gestured to her glass. "You want another?"
no subject
"They don't?" she chortled. "I certainly stuck out for you." But then, her demeanour was rather notorious.
Holding up her glass, she waved it slightly in a silent indication of interest to his offer.
no subject
"We'll just say I've had enough experience with the lot to know one when I see one." he grinned, lifting a hand towards the bartender to make another couple of drink orders. "Another glass of wine for the lady and I'll get another beer."
Leaning back his face pulled indifferently. "I meant here. No uniforms yet. Then again, haven't been to all the islands yet."
no subject
"Perhaps they're all MI-6," she deadpanned.
She'd only just gotten there, and hadn't even gotten settled in. Searching for work--and those in charge--would happen tomorrow. For now, she attempted to turn her mind off and just let the imbibing soothe her frazzled nerves.
no subject
Lee slid over his next beer and christened it with a long pull.
"Heard some of the other arrivals talking about being in other places like this before coming here. That happen to you?"
By nature, Lee was someone who mostly just quietly observed; gleaned what he could on his own and was usually pretty concise in making appropriate conclusions to carry through appropriate plans.
He couldn't leave his team for too long.
no subject
She said the words so casually, the syllables rolling off her tongue in perfect Received Pronunciation as though it were the most normal idea in the world. Never mind that her own reaction to being landed in a similar fashion several years earlier was MUCH more pronounced than Lee's.
"The answer to that would be yes...and on five separate occasions, at least." She shrugged and knocked back another healthy sip.
no subject
Come again.
He swallowed. "Five times." A rhetorical, obviously. As if echoing it would make it more believable. "There's 5 other universes besides our own out there. Out here."
no subject
"At least five different dimensions. Sometimes, a variation of the same dimension. Now, that? That's happened with me twice."
Picking up her glass again, she drained it in one go before setting the empty goblet back down and eyeing him with something of an enigmatic smile.
"So? In the interim, I suggest you get comfortable, son. You're in for the long haul."
no subject
Not about space and universes and dimensions. Or, visiting them like they were places to take a goddamn vacation.
Worse, he wasn't exactly keen on being told he was stuck there. Lee Christmas was a man who got in and got out with a plan. And if that plan fell through, there was a long list of other plans to try.
"Huh." he sounded incredulously. "Well, we'll see about that."
Lee wasn't irritated with her, merely the situation which he still wasn't wholly sure was just a dream.
