Welcome to Medietas and our first ever Test Drive Meme! As we approach the grand opening of the game on April 1st, we thought we’d kick things off with a little something that will get you all interacting in the new setting! And it’s one less sample you have to worry about on your application if you’re considering our little game here.

You all know what to do but if you don’t, just follow the instructions and HAVE FUN!

How To Play:

→ Comment with the character you’d like to test drive. Don’t forget to add their name and canon in the subject line.
→ Choose a scenario, or start your own!
→ Tag around!

Possible Scenarios:

1. New Arrival: You’ve just arrived on the island of Medietas, in the city of Aerilon via a … floating boat, with people you may or may not know? You can’t help but ponder what’s going on here, but the vessel seems to be approaching a harbor and when it docks, some lovely locals are standing in wait to greet you. After that they hand you a map and communications device and invite you to find your accommodations and explore.

2. Party, party!: On the evening of your first night in the city, a party is being thrown on Aerilon in honor of your arrival. Eat, mingle, dance, meet the other new arrivals! The locals put on quite the celebration!

3. Go Exploring!: There's plenty of places to explore, be it in your designated housing area, or on one of the adjoining community islands! Hike the mountains in Eurus. Sit on the beaches of Imber with a cocktail, or go swimming. Adventure in the forests of Mundus. Be careful though! Every area has it's dangers.

4. The Bells Are Ringing!: And that means a islands wide warning that something dangerous is approaching! But where the heck are they coming from? Nevermind that, the caretakers rally the children and the senior citizens while Scykal, Imber's local sea monster, emerges from the large body of water on the island.  Interesting.  He hasn't been spotted in a long time.  Help the locals defeat him!

5. Wild Card!: Choose your own scenario!

Artemis turned to examine the stranger, in that way she always examined strangers. Head tilted to one side, arms ramrod straight, gaze penetrating and dilated.

His aura was first. The deathly pale colors of a Cainite. So be it. Mottled shifting colors. Orange, yellow, and green. Afraid and confused. Somewhat distrustful. A flash of crimson too. Superior.

Nothing that surprised her overly so much.

The endearment was grating. But she was used to people taking liberties with such words.

Now to decide upon friend or foe. "How many winters?" she asked, slowly lifting her chin.

Instantly, something feels...off, even though he isn't sure exactly what it is. Something in her eyes or the way she holds herself seems wrong, and it bugs him. But he shakes his head to clear the thought away. Everything's fine, she's fines he's overreacting.

He cocks his head to one side at her question. "Sorry, what?" Not that he doesn't understand the question, but...it seems strange and it's certainly not her usual way of speaking.

"How many winters?" she repeated, the exact same intonation.

"He doesn't know what you're talking about, poppet," Papa's voice whispered to her.

Artemis turned to look at him, knowing full well that he wasn't really there. "I know that," she hissed. "Shut up."

And as if it were nothing at all, she turned right back to the stranger, watching the colors of his aura continue to swirl, like broken bits of glass caught up in the bulb of a kaleidoscope. "If the question means nothing to you, you must be either very young, very old, or very insane. But I don't think you're insane. I could sniff out another of my kind easily enough."

A slight frown crosses his features. Who on earth was she talking to?

"I am quite beyond what I look in age, I'll admit." But she knows that. This is wrong. "Some people might argue the insanity bit." He shrugs, and gives a facial shrug, though that concerned frown returns at her next words. "What do you mean, your kind?" He wants to reach out, to touch her, draw her closer, but something stops him.

"Isn't it obvious?"

Apparently not. Artemis scowled, turning to one side to watch Papa sniggering at her. She hated it when he did that, almost more than when he whispered her many failings. At least then she could tell him to shut it. But when he laughed...

Something about it struck her to the core. And few other things could.

"What are you?" she asked, her gaze stuck in the middle distance. "A Brujah? Toreador?" Her senses reached out, grasping at his nature. "No. A Tremere. You're a Tremere, aren't you? You like playing with magic."

He shakes his head, "Darling, I have no idea what you're on about." And the more she talks, the more worried he's getting. He doesn't like this at all. "What is a Tremere?"

Well. That was unexpected. Artemis was usually quite good at pegging a Cainite's clan on her first or second try. It was bad enough she'd guessed wrong. But to have never heard of the Usurpers? She would never have taken him for a neonate.

She checked his aura again. Swirling even more than before. But not a Thin Blood. Definitely not a dhampir.

Pursing her lips, she slowly started to walk, making a wide circle around him. And then another. And another still.

"You can't figure him out, can you?" Papa taunted her.

"Shut up," she told him again. And to her mysterious, new friend, she continued, "Are you alive or dead? Your aura looks dead, but I'm finding you most puzzling."
