Welcome to Medietas and our first ever Test Drive Meme! As we approach the grand opening of the game on April 1st, we thought we’d kick things off with a little something that will get you all interacting in the new setting! And it’s one less sample you have to worry about on your application if you’re considering our little game here.

You all know what to do but if you don’t, just follow the instructions and HAVE FUN!

How To Play:

→ Comment with the character you’d like to test drive. Don’t forget to add their name and canon in the subject line.
→ Choose a scenario, or start your own!
→ Tag around!

Possible Scenarios:

1. New Arrival: You’ve just arrived on the island of Medietas, in the city of Aerilon via a … floating boat, with people you may or may not know? You can’t help but ponder what’s going on here, but the vessel seems to be approaching a harbor and when it docks, some lovely locals are standing in wait to greet you. After that they hand you a map and communications device and invite you to find your accommodations and explore.

2. Party, party!: On the evening of your first night in the city, a party is being thrown on Aerilon in honor of your arrival. Eat, mingle, dance, meet the other new arrivals! The locals put on quite the celebration!

3. Go Exploring!: There's plenty of places to explore, be it in your designated housing area, or on one of the adjoining community islands! Hike the mountains in Eurus. Sit on the beaches of Imber with a cocktail, or go swimming. Adventure in the forests of Mundus. Be careful though! Every area has it's dangers.

4. The Bells Are Ringing!: And that means a islands wide warning that something dangerous is approaching! But where the heck are they coming from? Nevermind that, the caretakers rally the children and the senior citizens while Scykal, Imber's local sea monster, emerges from the large body of water on the island.  Interesting.  He hasn't been spotted in a long time.  Help the locals defeat him!

5. Wild Card!: Choose your own scenario!

Prompt 2

Kol thrives in these settings, always has, because he's such a social sort. He mingles in the crowd easily and chats with anyone who happens to catch his interest, makes an acceptable reason to escape a conversation that's boring him, and moves onto the next person.

He spots a woman looking somewhat out of her element, and decides to approach her, just as he has many others here. "They know how to throw a party, don't they?"

Elizabeth is also a social sort, but what she entertains as a social gathering might be quite different than a lot of people here probably figure on. Still, she turns her attention to the gentleman who approaches her, and despite being slightly uncertain that he drops into conversation without introducing himself (nor bowing, shock!) she bobs a little curtsy (Kol might recognize it as a Regency era mannerism) before replying.

"It does seem rather splendid all in all, but there's a sad lack of gentlemen for dancing. The ratios are not in accord." Belatedly realizing that might have come off as a plea rather than an observation (and admittedly, perhaps 15% of it was a plea, but only that increment) she offers - having become used to making her introduction first, "Miss Elizabeth Bennet. You seem to be enjoying the party a great deal."

A smile touches his lips as she curtsies because it is, in fact, familiar from days of old, and it puts together for him the reason for her brief glance of shock at his overly causal start of conversation. While he is rather suited for and comfortable in the current century, he can't deny there were some certain simplicities from days past he rather misses.

"Apologies, Ms. Bennet," now he does bow, not overly dramatic but enough to be proper, thanks, and as he rises he takes her hand, a kiss pressed to her fingers before he returns her hand. Maybe she could at least feel more at sorts knowing someone knew the social contract she was accustomed to. "Kol Mikaelson."

He nods at the comment, "I suppose I am. Part enjoyment, part trying to figure out exactly what's happening."

There is a palpable sense of relief about her now that someone's actually acted in a fashion that resembles something she's familiar with.

"I assume you mean in terms of the greater situation and not merely the party." Elizabeth looks around. "It is quite festive, and I suppose it is tempting to indulge in festivities when one is confronted with a situation one can neither control nor fathom. I take it you woke up as I did as well as others, drawn to the island?"
itchtokill: ({Suit} Mind your words)

"Yes, the bigger picture is rather intriguing. The locals aren't so forthcoming with deeper answers so far, though." He frowns a bit, obviously disappointed by that fact. "Mm, I did," he nodded. "Strange, isn't it? I'm not sure what to make of it." Which bothers him, quite a bit, actually, but he doesn't show it.

It may be more evident as bothersome than he thinks, simply because he remarks upon it, but Elizabeth pays it no mind. "I have wondered," she admits, "As to whether the natives' lack of information is due to genuine ignorance, alliance with whatever power drew us here, or fear of it. Surely it must be one of the three."

Of course, there isn't much else to do about the matter right now but ponder, and pondering won't accomplish much. "Would you think ill of me if I elected to opt for the merriment of the moment? There's little else we might do for now to alleviate our circumstance." This is rather bold, but she's coming to realize she can crack the strict rules of etiquette of her home. Just a little! Not entirely.

"Could I prevail upon you to seek refreshment, Mr. Mikaelson?"
