Welcome to Medietas and our first ever Test Drive Meme! As we approach the grand opening of the game on April 1st, we thought we’d kick things off with a little something that will get you all interacting in the new setting! And it’s one less sample you have to worry about on your application if you’re considering our little game here.

You all know what to do but if you don’t, just follow the instructions and HAVE FUN!

How To Play:

→ Comment with the character you’d like to test drive. Don’t forget to add their name and canon in the subject line.
→ Choose a scenario, or start your own!
→ Tag around!

Possible Scenarios:

1. New Arrival: You’ve just arrived on the island of Medietas, in the city of Aerilon via a … floating boat, with people you may or may not know? You can’t help but ponder what’s going on here, but the vessel seems to be approaching a harbor and when it docks, some lovely locals are standing in wait to greet you. After that they hand you a map and communications device and invite you to find your accommodations and explore.

2. Party, party!: On the evening of your first night in the city, a party is being thrown on Aerilon in honor of your arrival. Eat, mingle, dance, meet the other new arrivals! The locals put on quite the celebration!

3. Go Exploring!: There's plenty of places to explore, be it in your designated housing area, or on one of the adjoining community islands! Hike the mountains in Eurus. Sit on the beaches of Imber with a cocktail, or go swimming. Adventure in the forests of Mundus. Be careful though! Every area has it's dangers.

4. The Bells Are Ringing!: And that means a islands wide warning that something dangerous is approaching! But where the heck are they coming from? Nevermind that, the caretakers rally the children and the senior citizens while Scykal, Imber's local sea monster, emerges from the large body of water on the island.  Interesting.  He hasn't been spotted in a long time.  Help the locals defeat him!

5. Wild Card!: Choose your own scenario!

[It was a Felicity thing and it was so comforting that Oliver couldn't help but laugh. He also couldn't help the fondness in his eyes, the way that he automatically stepped a little closer to share her personal space. If Felicity wasn't actively rejecting him, he thought he might be able to pull himself together enough to figure out what the hell was going on here.]

I don't know. I don't have the best track record with islands but I am decent at navigation so maybe I can figure out where to start.

[He reached for the map, fingertips brushing her wrist as he did.]

Can I see that?

[Felicity didn't want to bring up all his bad island issues, but. He did have a bad track record with islands (not that hers was really any better in recent times), and she was wondering if it was getting to be A Thing between them. Too many 'things', really... and now even her introspection was beginning to ramble.

Handing over the map when he asked for it, Felicity looked around again.]
I don't know that it's going to help. I don't recognize this at all.

[OOC: She IS an AU from another game, just an fyi :D]

[Oliver looked over the map, trying to make heads or tails of it. He was good at navigating and had a natural sense of direction but that still didn't make the place any more familiar. He was going to just have to trust himself and not lines on a page.]

What's the last thing you remember, Felicity?

[Oliver knew the last thing he remembered but since Felicity seemed...okay with him if a little confused, he didn't think they came from the same time. That was weird in and of itself.]
allergictonuts: (Head Tilt)

[personal profile] allergictonuts 2016-03-13 06:45 am (UTC)(link)
[It was a bit refreshing to see Oliver as lost as she was and, at the same time, a little disconcerting. All she had was her iPad, a charger, and no wifi. She'd already checked.]

Between us? [The was a can of worms. She remembered quite clearly how he'd told her that he couldn't be with her while standing in the hospital and telling her he loved her. Men were ridiculous, all of them. And then? Ray. Another mess.] Or... Starling City. Nyssa told you Ra's' deadline for finding Sara's killer.

[She might have been a little behind the times.]

[Those things had happened what felt like a lifetime ago and Oliver had to recalibrate. This wasn't the Felicity who had traveled the world with him, wasn't the woman who had settled down with him in Ivy Town and had made him consider hanging up his bow forever. Hmm.]

Oh...a lot has happened since then. I wonder how that managed to happen? We both come here but you don't have half the memories I have? Doesn't make sense.

allergictonuts: (Tearful)

[personal profile] allergictonuts 2016-03-13 06:53 am (UTC)(link)
[Watching the emotions flit across his face, Felicity felt actual dread wash over her. It was disorienting, knowing that someone that you'd spent time with had other memories - more memories.]

What do you remember last?

[She was a little afraid to ask.]

[personal profile] viridescere 2016-03-13 07:00 am (UTC)(link)

[Oliver weighed whether or not to tell her. Telling her might be more cruel than keeping it to himself but half the reason their engagement had fallen apart had been because he wouldn't tell her things. He decided he was going to be honest. Felicity didn't have his memories, true, but she was still the same person. She would want the honesty. He knew that now.]

You broke up with me.

[personal profile] allergictonuts 2016-03-13 07:06 am (UTC)(link)
[In that he's not wrong; Felicity's core, whether or not she's from his past or future, would remain the same. She would want to know. That doesn't stop the truth from being an enormous shock. Her mouth drops open and her eyes behind her glasses go wide.]

We were dating?
viridescere: (Default)

[personal profile] viridescere 2016-03-13 04:37 pm (UTC)(link)

[Oliver swallowed a bit, clearly uncomfortable. It was something he didn't feel was entirely fair to dump on Felicity when she had no knowledge of it but, again, honesty. He had to be honest. Reserving himself and keeping secrets from her had destroyed what they had.]

Engaged, actually.

allergictonuts: (Uplook Listen)

[personal profile] allergictonuts 2016-03-18 03:38 am (UTC)(link)
[Just his body language made Felicity nervous - and then the bombshell. She couldn't keep the shock off her face.]

What? We-- [There's a shake of her blonde head.] We went from nothing, to something, to nothing again... to apparently something major. And then I broke up with you.

[Her brow furrows and, since he's in such an informational mood:] Why'd I do that?
viridescere: (Default)

[personal profile] viridescere 2016-03-18 09:14 pm (UTC)(link)

[Oliver frowned a bit deeper, trying to decide if he should tell her. He should be honest, yes, but if Felicity didn't remember this at all, would a lie hurt?]

You were uncomfortable with having me keep things from you and there were some other things that I don't know that I should tell you about. I don't want to burden you, Felicity, or give you knowledge of things you have no emotional context for.

allergictonuts: Not mine (Tell me more)

[personal profile] allergictonuts 2016-03-18 09:39 pm (UTC)(link)
[It made sense, the way he was explaining his reasons for not wanting to deepen the explanations and it took an over-emotional Felicity a moment to breathe, put things in context, and remember that Oliver - every Oliver she'd known or remembered from home - wouldn't hurt her on purpose.]

All right, I can understand that logic, and considering that we're not from the same-- [She motioned between them.] Time line. It makes sense. Not 'makes sense'. [And she immediately started to clarify in that babbling way she reverted to when she was nervous and out of sorts.] But I know what you mean when you don't want to get into it because explaining it would take more time to go into the nuances of every little thing-- [A breath.] Are you okay?

[Because that was more important.] There. Are you okay?
viridescere: (Default)

[personal profile] viridescere 2016-03-18 11:22 pm (UTC)(link)

[Oliver did not want to worry her more than he had to and considering he'd already had to tell her that they'd been engaged and weren't any longer, he wasn't sure how to broach her current question without hurting Felicity further. Was he okay? Physically, maybe, but emotionally he was still in shock. His son had just been kidnapped, Felicity had just walked again and now she was walking out of his life.]

I'm fine, Felicity. I'm here and I have friends and family. It could always be worse.

allergictonuts: (Uplook Listen)

[personal profile] allergictonuts 2016-03-18 11:27 pm (UTC)(link)
[She would always worry about him; ever since he'd crammed his entire body into the backseat of her Mini Cooper, she'd worried. Well, ever since he'd claimed his coffee shop was in the bad part of town, she'd worried. It'd just been on a bigger scale.]

Don't say that. Once you say that, it gets worse. [Motioning to the situation at hand:] Case in point... where are we?
viridescere: (Default)

[personal profile] viridescere 2016-03-19 12:06 am (UTC)(link)

[This was one of the things he'd always loved about Felicity before he fell in love with her: she was pragmatic, even if she went about it in a completely unusual way. Oliver smiled a little and looked around, trying to play at sheepish.]

No idea. I'm a stranded traveler, just like you.

allergictonuts: (Pouty)

[personal profile] allergictonuts 2016-03-19 12:14 am (UTC)(link)
Give me my map back.

[Looking at all the people milling about, she didn't recognize anyone else, which worried her. Being the only person from her previous stint was going to be bad, given current circumstances - which were something she'd have to mention to Oliver at one point or another. 'Another' was going to work for her for the time being; not that she was dishonest, but working out where they were or why they were was a far more important task.

Also, she was chickenshit.]

I don't recognize the shape of the island from anything I've seen recently and-- [iPad from the bag she's holding? Yes.] No wifi. What's with these places not connecting to the rest of the world?
viridescere: (Default)

[personal profile] viridescere 2016-03-19 12:47 am (UTC)(link)

[Oliver laughed a little and drew up just close enough to peer at the map himself, though it held no further revelations from earlier. Damn.]

It's almost as if they want to deter a coordinated effort to leave or something. Who would imagine that lack of technology could help with that?

allergictonuts: (Sidelook down)

[personal profile] allergictonuts 2016-03-19 12:52 am (UTC)(link)
[Having Oliver in her space was a reminder of what they'd shared, as far as she remembered, which was disconcerting. Focusing on the map, she dropped the iPad back into her bag and held up the device she'd been given.]

I wonder if this can be programmed, or if if it links to, like. Yours. It probably does, or what's the point. [Looking back over the port, she nodded at the boat.] It seems like that's the way on and off.
viridescere: (Default)

[personal profile] viridescere 2016-03-19 02:57 pm (UTC)(link)

[Oliver stepped away enough to look at the boats, watching as they docked and embarked. He couldn't tell where they came from, exactly, only that they were full of people each time they came back in. There was no telling how many people were here now, how many refugees.]

Yeah, I think that's the only way in or out. We have to figure out how they're controlled, what routes they run. That's the way out.

allergictonuts: (Pouty)

[personal profile] allergictonuts 2016-03-19 03:32 pm (UTC)(link)
[Following his gaze, it was natural for her to see what he saw and nod along as he made his assessment; the only difference was that she was standing next to him rather than hiding out in their hidden lair. Cave. Whichever. She nodded when he agreed with what she'd said, but held up her device.]

Can't do it with this. Or with this. [She patted her bag with the iPad.] It's gonna take some time.

[Which, given the tone of her voice, made her incredibly unhappy.]
viridescere: (Default)

[personal profile] viridescere 2016-03-19 03:49 pm (UTC)(link)

Do you think you can figure it out? Or, stepping back, what you need to be able to figure it out? I don't doubt that you can, I just need to help you get materials.

[Oliver smiled because if anyone could figure out how to get them connected to the world again and back to reality, it was Felicity. He had complete faith in her.]

allergictonuts: (Sneaky)

[personal profile] allergictonuts 2016-03-19 03:54 pm (UTC)(link)
[Felicity had faith in Felicity, too, but as she looked around the people milling around, she felt more than a little out of her depth - for more than one reason.]

Even that'll take a couple of days. We've been here, what. Twenty minutes? I don't know who, or what, we're up against. [She looked back at Oliver with wide eyes.] You came here from home, but I wasn't at home before this. I was on another island, with other people, and I'd been there a long time. Things... happened.
viridescere: (Default)

[personal profile] viridescere 2016-03-19 11:35 pm (UTC)(link)

[Oliver frowned a bit, trying to work out how that had happened. Felicity hadn't been missing, at all, or he would have definitely noticed.]

When did this happen? You haven't been missing, Felicity. I would have known. I would have searched the ends of the earth to find you if you were.

allergictonuts: (Seriousness)

[personal profile] allergictonuts 2016-03-20 04:50 am (UTC)(link)
Two and a half years ago.

[She watched him for some kind of reaction. It was difficult, given the revelations he'd made, really. Admitting that she'd been gone, that she'd made a life, that she'd had lovers... had fallen in love, even. Especially since she knew that, if she'd been missing back home, he would have searched for her. It made her heart ache a little, but she was also glad that he'd been spared the trauma of having to deal with her being missing.]
viridescere: (Default)

[personal profile] viridescere 2016-03-20 05:43 am (UTC)(link)

[Oliver didn't quite know what to do with that and he felt staggered, felt like he had to sit down and find his center again. For so long, he had depended on the team and on the stability it gave him. Now it felt like the world had been yanked from under his feet all over again.]

It couldn't have been that long. I just saw you, Felicity. That's not...possible?
