Welcome to Medietas and our first ever Test Drive Meme! As we approach the grand opening of the game on April 1st, we thought we’d kick things off with a little something that will get you all interacting in the new setting! And it’s one less sample you have to worry about on your application if you’re considering our little game here.
You all know what to do but if you don’t, just follow the instructions and HAVE FUN!
How To Play:
→ Comment with the character you’d like to test drive. Don’t forget to add their name and canon in the subject line.
→ Choose a scenario, or start your own!
→ Tag around!
Possible Scenarios:
1. New Arrival: You’ve just arrived on the island of Medietas, in the city of Aerilon via a … floating boat, with people you may or may not know? You can’t help but ponder what’s going on here, but the vessel seems to be approaching a harbor and when it docks, some lovely locals are standing in wait to greet you. After that they hand you a map and communications device and invite you to find your accommodations and explore.
2. Party, party!: On the evening of your first night in the city, a party is being thrown on Aerilon in honor of your arrival. Eat, mingle, dance, meet the other new arrivals! The locals put on quite the celebration!
3. Go Exploring!: There's plenty of places to explore, be it in your designated housing area, or on one of the adjoining community islands! Hike the mountains in Eurus. Sit on the beaches of Imber with a cocktail, or go swimming. Adventure in the forests of Mundus. Be careful though! Every area has it's dangers.
4. The Bells Are Ringing!: And that means a islands wide warning that something dangerous is approaching! But where the heck are they coming from? Nevermind that, the caretakers rally the children and the senior citizens while Scykal, Imber's local sea monster, emerges from the large body of water on the island. Interesting. He hasn't been spotted in a long time. Help the locals defeat him!
5. Wild Card!: Choose your own scenario!

"You don't want to know what happened to Diana," she murmured.
"Oh, tell her. What a fun game that will be."
"Shut up," she said aloud to the voice, before turning back to Selene. "At least it's a happy ending. She's married now. A white knight came riding in on a noble steed. Well, it was a Lamborghini, really, but beggars can't be choosers."
She walked as far along the railing as she dared to go, almost to the figurehead of the boat. There she stopped, looking up at the sun-filled sky once again. "Has it always been this bright? The sun?"
no subject
Selene glanced up at the sky, staring at the sun in almost wordless wonder. "I wouldn't know. I haven't seen the sun in awhile. I almost forgot how warm it is."
no subject
A noncommittal sound. Artemis saw sunlight all the time. But not the real kind. Not the kind that blistered and burned. The kind that filled her dreams and visions and let her know that she'd taken a leave from reality.
But this was reality.
It made no sense at all.
"Well, what were you expecting?"
"Shut up," she muttered. In the same breathe, she asked her sister, "There was a man called Solomon. He did not live up to his name. Liam ripped his heart out with his bare hands. Quite the brazen act for a Ventrue Prince."
no subject
She stared up at the sky again, shielding her eyes from the light. "Did you know about Esau?" Artemis always had visions. At least some that had been proven right. Had she seen their brother and the things he would do. "Probably not, right?"
no subject
She could snap from face to face in an instant.
And when she heard a biblical name, she knew it was time to pay attention.
"Tell me."
"You're not going to like this, poppet.
no subject
Still, it wasn't a pretty story.
"Esau is...was our brother." Selene said softly. "Our younger brother. Mom had him...in the asylum."
no subject
Not outwardly.
Of the York sisters, people often joked that she was the least passionate. They teased her for having no interest in love affairs. For never shouting. For always turning inward where the other two turned outward.
But nothing could be further from the truth. Artemis too had a lusty passion, smoldering inside. What she lacked, significantly, was the capacity for surprise. When she heard new truths--if they were, in fact, truths--she often could see them. Woven into an intricate tapestry around her.
And she would wonder why she'd never noticed them before.
Perhaps that was just the way the madness wanted it.
After an endless moment of silence, Artemis stepped off the railing of the boat, landing neatly on her feet on the deck. She turned to look out at the water. "I see," she said quietly.
no subject
"I'm sorry." She felt the apologize regardless.
no subject
That wasn't in Selene's nature.
"And there's nothing you can do about any of it, poppet."
Her fingers played against the wooden railing a moment. "Cainite, I assume?"
no subject
She nodded, "Grandmother sired him. She had plans, I think. When she was killed, he assumed control of the Garden." Anything involving the Garden was bad news. They had been fortunate to pull free from its hold, but their fates were too intertwined with that cult. They would never escape their roles.

Papa who was laughing uncontrollably. It always happened that way when Artemis felt like she was spinning out of control. Spinning and rattling and shaking. Jostling from one thought to the next, while dedicating her energy to maintaining the facade of a placid lake, instead of using it to silence the voice.
Always her biggest mistake.
But her willpower was strong. And her irritation was stronger still.
"Did he know?"
It helped when the voice didn't answer. It couldn't answer. Even Artemis knew it was all in her head.

He hated his past almost as much as she hated hers.
"I don't know. Maybe? I think only Grandmother knew, she had a fondness for our bloodline and miserable people. He was miserable, obviously."
