Welcome to Medietas and our first ever Test Drive Meme! As we approach the grand opening of the game on April 1st, we thought we’d kick things off with a little something that will get you all interacting in the new setting! And it’s one less sample you have to worry about on your application if you’re considering our little game here.

You all know what to do but if you don’t, just follow the instructions and HAVE FUN!

How To Play:

→ Comment with the character you’d like to test drive. Don’t forget to add their name and canon in the subject line.
→ Choose a scenario, or start your own!
→ Tag around!

Possible Scenarios:

1. New Arrival: You’ve just arrived on the island of Medietas, in the city of Aerilon via a … floating boat, with people you may or may not know? You can’t help but ponder what’s going on here, but the vessel seems to be approaching a harbor and when it docks, some lovely locals are standing in wait to greet you. After that they hand you a map and communications device and invite you to find your accommodations and explore.

2. Party, party!: On the evening of your first night in the city, a party is being thrown on Aerilon in honor of your arrival. Eat, mingle, dance, meet the other new arrivals! The locals put on quite the celebration!

3. Go Exploring!: There's plenty of places to explore, be it in your designated housing area, or on one of the adjoining community islands! Hike the mountains in Eurus. Sit on the beaches of Imber with a cocktail, or go swimming. Adventure in the forests of Mundus. Be careful though! Every area has it's dangers.

4. The Bells Are Ringing!: And that means a islands wide warning that something dangerous is approaching! But where the heck are they coming from? Nevermind that, the caretakers rally the children and the senior citizens while Scykal, Imber's local sea monster, emerges from the large body of water on the island.  Interesting.  He hasn't been spotted in a long time.  Help the locals defeat him!

5. Wild Card!: Choose your own scenario!

Malcolm Renard l OUAT OC l Beach

[personal profile] trickshaveaprice 2016-03-13 03:45 am (UTC)(link)
Sitting on the beach is a monkey, which in any other place might seem a bit weird, but here maybe not so much. He is scampering along the beach digging here and there in the sand for something only he knows. The odd thing about this monkey though it it seems to be watching the other people on the beach with a human like twinkle in it's eyes. What on earth is going on?

Thea tossed the monkey a cracker in case this was a harmless one. She had been watching the dock all day in case she was given a break and this place decided to bring her the handful that cared about her from Oliver and Roy to Felicity, Laurel and Dig.

Back in Fairy Tale Land such a kindness would have been met with the granting of a wish or help on a quest. The monkey considers the young woman for a moment after eating the cracker and then hops over to sit beside her. A moment later a familiar looking man is sitting beside her grinning. "You are wishing," he comments, "what for?"

"That this place would bring my brother, boyfriend or the handful of people from home I can trust here." Thea was honest. That was when a wave of panic hit,"Can't be..." her voice trailing off. She just knew Malcolm had followed her,"Be glad I'm not armed right now Malcolm" she hissed.

Unlike his double this Malcolm's smile is warm and open. He also can look confused and does right now. "Excuse me," he asks, "have I offended you in some way?"

"Your not him..." Thea's voice trailed off. But she somehow pulled herself together to explain,"That just proved it, your not my father. The man I call Malcolm and someone I'm not ready to deal with, long story."

"If he causes you such pain then he must be a horrible man," Malcolm says, "no father should cause his child pain...and yet I have seen far too much of it." He smiles again. "I am Malcolm Renard."

"Thea Queen and well the last couple of years have been a constant soap opera it feels like." Thea finally offered Malcolm her hand.

Jacob's always liked animals, and while he's not seen many monkeys in his life, he's always wanted to get closer to the ones that follow organ grinders around London, see what they're like under the fancy clothes and trappings of being civilized. He's got the feeling those monkeys must hate their lives.

THIS fellow on the other hand? Oh there's something different there and it's enough to speak his curiosity as he offers a hand, dropping to his knees beside the small creature.

"Well, color me surprised." He mutters, offering a hand so they can shake. "You here on your own then, lad? Wouldn't fancy a bit of a scratch, would you?"

He won't pet the monkey until he's sure it's okay, but oh, he wants to pet the monkey.

"I wouldn't mind a scratch behind the ears if you wouldn't mind," the monkey replies as he turns his back presenting said ears to the strangers. The voice coming from the monkey's mouth is smooth and light with no small amount of charm. "I promise not to wiggle too much if you do."

"Well, all right then, I..."

Wait.

Wait, WHAT?

And Jacob's stopping suddenly, blinking hard and starring, bewildered at the monkey, like he's seeing...well, a talking monkey, actually.

Because seriously. This is not the sort of thing he'd expect to happen right now. At all. This is new, and a little odd, and he's going to keep blinking a second, before he does reach out, complying.

"So, clearly I've been slipped some of Starrick's left over snake oil, but am I hearing things or seeing them?"

The monkey grins. "You aren't hearing things. I talk...well I'm not exactly a monkey, but hang on a second and I can explain better in my human form." The monkey hops back and in a swirl of sand becomes a tall, handsome man with a wicked smile and sparkling blue eyes. He's dressed in a red t-shirt the same color as the monkey's fur and jeans with bare feet.

He waves. "Hello there."

Human form. Jacob takes a moment with those two words and the explanation, and about all that comes to mind are some half remembered tales from the earliest days of his childhood, and the comfortable little cottage that was home. Curled up in the sweet smelling sheets with Evie cuddled next to him, he'd been told many stories, but he'd never imagined most of them to be especially real, but had been captivated by them all the same.

No one could tell a story like his grandmother, whether she was soothing the twins to sleep through a chilly winter's night or trying to coax them to rest even though summer's pleasant weather made them want to stay awake for hours, running along the shore. Part of her special magic touch that had nothing to do with literal powers, but everything to do with love and comfort and...he misses her, Jacob realizes, now, though he hasn't thought of her directly in years. He's about to smile, but his mouth is dropping instead as suddenly a man, a quite attractive man at that, with just the sort of smile Jacob likes to see on anyone, appears before him.

Instead, his jaw is dropping, rather quickly there.

"I've heard of you...your lot." He explains, rather quickly. "My Nain would tell us stories, me and my sister, but I'd never thought I'd meet anyone like you in the flesh. Amazing! You do this often?"

"It's good to hear the stories are still being told," Malcolm replies with another smile, "sometimes I feel as though my people get labeled as talking animals and the bards forget how powerful we really are." He leans forward and offers his hand. "You may call me Malcolm if you want."

"Suppose when people don't know what they're looking at, they'll head towards the easiest explanation that they've got on hand, then call it logic." Jacob shakes his head a bit, despite the fact that he's gone and done that to Evie, oh, dozens of times, at least. Then again, when it comes to things like ghosts and phantoms, there's less power to them than the things he heard as a child, somehow. Is it that they're sensationalized much more, maybe? He's none too sure about that, but best kept under his hat for now.

Instead, he's shrugging a smile and clasping the hand in return. "Jacob Frye, at your service."

Malcolm's handshake is firm and and not too strong. "A pleasure to meet you Jacob, do you mind me asking where you hail from?"

"Starting to seem like the when's maybe a bit important too." Jacob tacks on a thought that's come to him a few times since he's gotten here and started to meet others. "But London, most recent and most often, enough that it's home now, and her Majesty couldn't do without me or my sister, and Crawley before that. And 1868, since I dragged dates along. But you? You look a bit more modern."

"You too?" Jacob couldn't help but quip, relaxing into the conversation quite a bit now. "Bit enough of a pain for me, but I only had the one. Must be a bit madder for you. Looking any way you want though...Interesting idea." He grinned. "Think I'd have a lot of fun with that, and it'd be useful besides."

Malcolm tilts his head as if studying the younger looking man. "How old are you then," he asks curious, "because you are pretty much on the nose when it comes to understanding what my life is like."
