Welcome to Medietas! Do you have an interest in joining the game? Is there an old muse that you want to dust off? Or, perhaps you're looking for a place to voice test a brand new character and would like to do so in our little island setting among friends? Well, whatever the reason, this is where you can do that!

You all know what to do! If you don’t, just follow the instructions and HAVE FUN!

How To Play:

→ Comment with the character you’d like to test drive. Don’t forget to add their name and canon in the subject line.
→ Choose a scenario, or start your own!
→ Tag around!

Possible Scenarios:

1. Getting Settled: So, now that you've arrived and wandered around the starter home you've been given, it's time to check out the rest of the islands. There's a market on Aerilon that is full of treasures. Or, you can check out Chapter Six bookstore. Perhaps you wander over to the Mean Princess facility on Mulciber. There is so much to see and do!

2. Islands: There is definitely some weirdness going on around the islands from the sidewalks that glow to the mysterious energy that doesn't seem to have any direct source. There are statues that hum softly and seem to grow every so often. And what is with these bridges? Go forth and investigate! Puzzles are FUN!

3. PARTY: Every month or so there's always a celebration somewhere, be it on Mulciber, Imber, Mundus, Eurus, and now Nidus! Eat, drink, dance, talk among the other islanders. It's about making new friends and enjoying yourself, right? Even if you have been stolen away from your home world to a bunch of floating islands.

4. Trouble!: All is quiet and calm when suddenly the warning signals across each of the islands sound. Not long after, or, at least only long enough to get prepared, a large hydra creature crawling out of the lake on Imber. Do what you can to help remove this threat before it gets to any of the other islands!

5. Wild Card: Got something else in mind and want to create your own scenario? Go for it!

Marie waited patiently for him to sit up. The brightness of his hair caught her eye and she was reminded of a knight. It was his eyes that threw off the image. Those were not the eyes of a knight. They were deeper, darker in their nature though Marie didn't know if that was Lestat or perhaps her own mind trying to place the similarities she noticed. He wasn't like James, she reminded herself silently.

"Whatever you like." She replied easily. "It's my own imposition and I prefer for you to be as you are." She wanted to get a measure of him, to know what to draw with him. The beach didn't seem to suit him as a setting.

Marie lowered herself gracefully at his side, her knees curling to her left while her dress fanned to her right. The wind tugged softly at her hair pulling a few loose strands out from behind her ear. "Flattered." She offered as she pulled her things from her bag. Brilliant green eyes flicked between Lestat and her page before she gently placed her pencil on the white space.

"You remind me of someone I'm close too but his features aren't as pointed as yours." Her words could be taken as either a compliment or an insult and yet Marie made it sound more like a compliment.

"How accommodating. But it's not an imposition. I was enjoying the sun, and I can continue to do that even now. Now I just have conversation and company. I like both quite a bit."

If they were good, or if not good, interesting. So far this woman was holding his attention, the fact that his ego had been engaged by the request certainly didn't hurt the cause. And he was interested, unable to see what her pencil did on the paper, but watching for the movements he could catch. "Well, then I'm flattered," he conceded with a laugh, hand braced to the sand behind him.

"You don't quite remind me of anyone I know, but that's more interesting for me. New people and things feel like rare occurrences sometimes." Not that he was in danger of disappearing into ennui at the moment -- though it had happened in the past woudl happen again. Or some other flavor of existential crisis.

Immortality was exhausting.

Marie glanced up at him, her bright emerald eyes shining and shifting with the rhythm to the rising tide. "Good." Her voice remained soft as she continued to drag her pencil across the paper. He will most likely not see the drawing until it's become a painting.

She thought about his similarities to Louis as she drew. The pale skin, the way his gaze settled over the objects around him. It was unique.

"I've never met anyone like me." Marie replied as if it was the most common thing to say. She barely knew herself, let alone someone who was similar to her in someway. She felt the closest to Cobweb but the similarities they shared weren't exact. She hoped that no one would have to live through a life similar to her own.

"You remind me of a man I met here."

"A man here? And who would that be?" He didn't even bother trying to disguise the interest in his tone. Why try? It would be impossible anyway. Lestat wore his heart on his sleeve, to whatever end good or bad that it led him.

By now for the sake of continuity between threads! he had heard that Louis was here, and if this woman knew him, well, he wanted to know. Had his too often solitary fledgling made friends in this place? Lestat genuinely hoped so.

Even his tone, when he spoke, was unmistakably hopeful. "Do you know my Louis as well? Another spoke of meeting him here."

Her hand paused in its work. She was surprised to hear Louis's name. "Yes. I do." Her expression softened, her eyes reflecting the affection she felt for Louis when she spoke. "He is someone very close to me." It was phrased oddly but Marie didn't know how to explain Louis's position in her life. He was something like family, a part of herself as much as an arm or leg might be.

"Do you know him as well?" Marie realized then that she hadn't asked the man what his name was. Bright green emerald orbs looked up at him looking like a wild animal, caution and curiosity brimming from her gaze.

"I suppose I should ask how do you know him. Since it is obvious that you do."
fier: (you let me fall)

Unmistakable that affection. But Lestat could only be grateful for it. Good. Then Louis had found at least some here who cared for him. His fledgling too easily sank into melancholy if left entirely on his own, after all. A softening of his own expression, and Lestat ducked his head at the first question.

Oh he knew Louis de Pointe du Lac, knew him intimately.

But how to even answer that question? It was hardly so simple. Nothing about his relationship with the other vampire was simple. "Louis is the one I love most in the world. ...any world. So I know him very well. We have... been through a lot together." Including Louis being an accomplice to his 'murder' but that was water long under the bridge. He couldn't begrudge his fledgling that; things had been complex and complicated, difficult in a way that Lestat hadn't intended, but certainly hadn't helped exactly.

"I'd say more, but I'd be in trouble if I told secrets Louis doesn't want told. He scolds. I'd prefer to save getting in trouble for something more fun."

Marie easily understood what Lestat meant. "We share many things in common then." She loved Louis as well and she was glad to hear that he had someone from home who cared about him so. She didn't know about Lestat's more erratic tendencies but when there was love, she didn't think that matter.

Her pencil rolled between her fingers as their conversation continued.

"If you are a love of Louis then please be a friend of mine?" It was a request, Marie wasn't the sort of person to force anything. Not because she didn't wield the strength but there was rarely a need for such direct actions.

Marie's head tilted to the side. Emerald green eyes shined curiously while red silky strands broke away from her cheek and blew in the steady ocean breeze. "I will be sure to ask him but... what would be fun trouble?" That was something that she'd heard Ethan say before. Marie wondered how Lestat meant it.

"I would have it no other way. Let's be friends." Anyone who cared for Louis had the benefit of the doubt from Lestat. This woman had already caught his attention regardless, so it lined up well.

He held out a hand towards her to shake, his best and brightest smile lighting up his features. "I'm Lestat. What's your name, my dear?"

Oh but what a question she asked. Lestat couldn't help a laugh, delighted really, gray eyes all the brighter. What an innocent question, there was an astonishing and refreshing purity to this pretty little artist. "Oh all kinds of trouble can be fun. Rules are made for nothing if not breaking. Haven't you ever wanted to do something that you were told was verboten? Stray outside the lines?"
tryingtobe: (Not sure)

Warmth gathered in her chest at Lestat's acceptance. She enjoyed meeting people but she wasn't particularly skilled when it came to making friends. Being able to be forward and having her blunt request accepted made it easier to speak to him.

"My full name is Anne-Marie Louise Devoss but those who know me here do so as Marie." It was difficult for her to not introduce herself by her full name. Years of breeding and training had programmed the introduction into her very being. Her hand rested gently in his, her fingers thin, warm and pale as if she was sculpted from Periclean.

His laughter drew her gaze as if she was curious by the sounds that echoed from his throat. "I'm not sure where the lines are." She admitted. What Marie knew to be rules were strange when she told them to others and yet there were things that she'd been told not to do in Medietas by those she considered to be her family.

"What is it that you suggest?"
