Welcome to Medietas! Do you have an interest in joining the game? Is there an old muse that you want to dust off? Or, perhaps you're looking for a place to voice test a brand new character and would like to do so in our little island setting among friends? Well, whatever the reason, this is where you can do that!

You all know what to do! If you don’t, just follow the instructions and HAVE FUN!

How To Play:

→ Comment with the character you’d like to test drive. Don’t forget to add their name and canon in the subject line.
→ Choose a scenario, or start your own!
→ Tag around!

Possible Scenarios:

1. Getting Settled: So, now that you've arrived and wandered around the starter home you've been given, it's time to check out the rest of the islands. There's a market on Aerilon that is full of treasures. Or, you can check out Chapter Six bookstore. Perhaps you wander over to the Mean Princess facility on Mulciber. There is so much to see and do!

2. Islands: There is definitely some weirdness going on around the islands from the sidewalks that glow to the mysterious energy that doesn't seem to have any direct source. There are statues that hum softly and seem to grow every so often. And what is with these bridges? Go forth and investigate! Puzzles are FUN!

3. PARTY: Every month or so there's always a celebration somewhere, be it on Mulciber, Imber, Mundus, Eurus, and now Nidus! Eat, drink, dance, talk among the other islanders. It's about making new friends and enjoying yourself, right? Even if you have been stolen away from your home world to a bunch of floating islands.

4. Trouble!: All is quiet and calm when suddenly the warning signals across each of the islands sound. Not long after, or, at least only long enough to get prepared, a large hydra creature crawling out of the lake on Imber. Do what you can to help remove this threat before it gets to any of the other islands!

5. Wild Card: Got something else in mind and want to create your own scenario? Go for it!

"Huh?" Asuna turned to face Leafa, blinking in surprise. Calming down, she nodded at her. "Yeah, I'm new. At least new to this floor." She said, smiling. "I'm Asuna. I'm looking for information about this place."

[leafheld]

"Well info I can give but this isn't a floor or anything like tha--" That face! Leafa blinked in surprise, there was a few differences but... "Asuna? Is that you?"

Considering Leafa had never seen her IRL before, the difference between features was close but huh...

Asuna blinked as she pulled down the hood of her cloak, confused. "Have... have we met?" She asked. She wasn't certain she met this girl before and yet there was the nagging suspicion she had.

[leafheld]

"Y-yeah, I guess... huh. We're friends, or at least I think we will be? Different world or different timeline, I'm not too sure. I'm Leafa, at least my game-name is."

Rubbing her head, Leafa sighed. "This place, floor, whatever you want to call it, it draws in people from all over the multiverse, so I might be from a different world than the one you know."

[stayed_solo]

"Leafa... Leafa! Oh, I remember you! One of the Outlyers!" Asuna said, smiling widely. "Oh, ah... where I'm from, you're one of those who could still log out from the game...!"

And as for what she said about this world... "The multiverse? Really? And here I thought what I was stuck in was bad."

[leafheld]

"Ah, yeah, where I come from I can't log out, well, kinda. It's complicated. Basically my situation is one of those "really in the game" sort of things. I'll explain all about Elder Tale later." said Leafa, relieved that in some world she could still log out.

"Yeah, it's weird. I mean, I'm glad I didn't come here without powers, and stuff, but I miss my guild and everything."

Asuna shook her head at Leafa missing her guild. "Honestly, I couldn't take being in a guild. Mostly because I've been soured by one person's interactions..."

[leafheld]

"Believe me, being in a guild is great where I come from, but yeah there's a lot of stupid people. There's this really dumb solo player back home who tried to solo a area boss at level 45. It was a lv 80 mob." Snickered Leafa. "What a dope!"

Asuna laughed at that. She could see that happening, especially with so many who could log out of the game without the worry of dying. "Now that's the sign of someone who is a bit too confident!" She said, smiling. "Though, I have to admit, I'm guilty of an action or two like that."

[leafheld]

"Yeah, the you I know back home has a bit of a reckless streak to be honest. But then again, you're a higher level than I am." Leafa shrugged a little with a grin. "So I take it you're from a world where you can't log out?"

[stayed_solo]

"Heh, at least some things don't change...!" Asuna said, laughing. "But, yeah, I am. But, it was so weird. It seemed that it was meant to be a massive number of us trapped, but it's only a low number." She shrugged a bit. "I mean, yeah, 10,000 isn't that small at all, but it seemed that the one who trapped us in the game was meant to capture millions."

She chuckled a bit as she added. "I guess that's what happens when everyone tells you to delete a certain program and you don't..."

[leafheld]

"That sounds like a grave miscalculation," mused Leafa with a shake of her head. "It doesn't sound like they planned for your game to be running in that capacity."

"The Apocalypse, or at least what we're calling it, was the event that brought thousands of people to the world of Elder Tale. I was logged in when the expansion went live, and I found myself in the city of Akibahara. The rest was mostly me getting used to the world."

[stayed_solo]

"I think a lot of us is trying to get used to our situation... at least until someone hits all of the floors and beats the entire thing." Asuna said. "Though, by the sounds of it, I'm safe here..."

[leafheld]

"Yeah, you're pretty safe here all things considered. The islands just came down out of the air which was kind of awesome all things considered, but having real beachfront property is probably the best thing ever."

Leafa grinned a little as she added, "I suppose since you're here I can introduce myself in a IRL fashion. Suguha Kirigaya. Nice to meet you again Asuna."

Asuna laughed a bit as she nodded. "Asuna Yuuki. I know, I'm original with names. Yay, me." She said, laughing again. "Though, I wonder about how much of game me is still intact..."

[leafheld]

"People tend to have pretty much everything from where and when you arrive," said Leafa, tabbing in front of herself and bringing up the status screen for Asuna to see.

"It probably looks a lot different than what you're used to at least. I have stuff like my friend list and my inventory here in my magic bag, and all of my abilities as a swashbuckler."

"Wow... yours looks a lot better than mine!" Asuna said, bringing up her own menu, which looks a bit haphazardly put together. "You can see where some don't fit. That's because they had to quickly overhaul the game... or at least, that's what my brother said."

[leafheld]

"Oh my god, how can you even find anything in that?" asked Leafa, partially in horror from the lack of a clean UI.

"Your brother? The Asuna I knew didn't have one."

[stayed_solo]

"Really? Wow... another real change between your Asuna and me." Asuna said, scratching her head slightly. "I'm curious, though - you said you missed your guild. Why did you like being around them?"

[leafheld]

"At least she never talked about him, when myself, Lizabeth and her went hunting for ingredients." admitted Leafa.

"Well... they're my friends, really good friends at that. When I entered the game, I was a solo player, helping new players once in a while, that sort of thing. But it wasn't till I met the members of Log Horizon that I felt welcomed. They're very close, and there's only about 7 of us in the guild right now. But I really enjoy being around them. There's Minori and Toyha the kids, master Nyanta my fencing teacher, Shiroe our guild leader, Akatsuki our ninja roleplayer and Naotsugu our reliable tank."

Asuna looked down a bit hearing that. She seemed so lucky to get along with so many people. Though, the mention of Lizabeth did cause her to wince.

"You're lucky. I could never get along with that many people." Asuna admitted. "Maybe I could have if I didn't meet him..."

[leafheld]

"That guy huh," said Leafa in sympathy. "I know bad encounters would hurt people's tendency to trust too... sorry bout that."

[stayed_solo]

"It's alright, just..." Asuna began before sighing. "There was a guy who went by the name of Kirito. He found me while I was doing something on my own. He was insistent that I was doing things all wrong and when I somehow ran out of stamina, I found myself in a hotel room."

She clenched her fists a bit. "That jerk dragged me there and decided to try to play bodyguard for me! I didn't need his help or his protection! I was fine as it is! And the fact that he waited over me for so long...!" She shivered at that. "How could I trust he wasn't trying something?!"

"And then there was the fight with the first floor boss... I knew my suspicions of him were right when everyone started calling him a 'beater'!"

She stopped and decided to clarify on that bit. "That's something of a new name players have taken up - a combination of "beta player" and "cheater"."

"I just... augh...! Every time I think of him and his haughty attitude...!"

[leafheld]

Wait, wasn't that guy who... Leafa turned a little green. "Gross. That guy is just gross! I mean, who does that sort of thing!?

I wish I didn't help him in my world, that's just awful."

[stayed_solo]

"You met him, too?" Asuna winced at that. There were worlds with him in it, too. He just seemed so...

She shivered before reaching over and hugging Leafa.
