Welcome to Medietas! Do you have an interest in joining the game? Is there an old muse that you want to dust off? Or, perhaps you're looking for a place to voice test a brand new character and would like to do so in our little island setting among friends? Well, whatever the reason, this is where you can do that!
You all know what to do! If you don’t, just follow the instructions and HAVE FUN!
How To Play:
→ Comment with the character you’d like to test drive. Don’t forget to add their name and canon in the subject line.
→ Choose a scenario, or start your own!
→ Tag around!
Possible Scenarios:
1. Getting Settled: So, now that you've arrived and wandered around the starter home you've been given, it's time to check out the rest of the islands. There's a market on Aerilon that is full of treasures. Or, you can check out Chapter Six bookstore. Perhaps you wander over to the Mean Princess facility on Mulciber. There is so much to see and do!
2. Islands: There is definitely some weirdness going on around the islands from the sidewalks that glow to the mysterious energy that doesn't seem to have any direct source. There are statues that hum softly and seem to grow every so often. And what is with these bridges? Go forth and investigate! Puzzles are FUN!
3. PARTY: Every month or so there's always a celebration somewhere, be it on Mulciber, Imber, Mundus, Eurus, and now Nidus! Eat, drink, dance, talk among the other islanders. It's about making new friends and enjoying yourself, right?
4. Trouble!: All is quiet and calm when suddenly the warning signals across each of the islands sound. Not long after, or, at least only long enough to get prepared, a large hydra creature crawling out of the lake on Imber. Do what you can to help remove this threat before it gets to any of the other islands!
5. Wild Card: Got something else in mind and want to create your own scenario? Go for it!
Re: 5
Tony's eyebrows both lifted slightly. "Pretty sure he's not a woman." But there could be multiple Thors, check. Once that idea settled in, he offered her a small, slightly wry smile. "Parallel world is comforting?"
Re: 5
"And yeah, the mantle of Thor was passed to another. Hold on, lemme get a photo." Grabbing her phone, she flipped through the images. "Lets see... nope, nope, oh here's my selfie with Wolverine... oh here we go." And she passed over the phone to show off the picture of the female Thor captured against the morning sky to Tony.
Re: 5
If his was the world with less issues, he could only imagine what hers must be like. But Tony just shook his head and leaned in to get a look at the picture. "Yeah, that's definitely not the one I know," he said after a moment's thorough deliberation. What, he could appreciate.
"Sounds like you've got a lot more...superhero types than we do, too." At least judging by the number of unfamiliar names she was slinging around.
Re: 5
"You've been an Avenger for quite some time, founded the group and all."
Re: 5
Now that was a hell of a turnaround from Tony Stark: not recommended. Not that he was still bitter or anything. "Hulk and War Machine I know," he said instead. "None of the rest of those sound familiar."
He paused for a moment, debating, and then sighed. "There's some...time differences too. A bunch of the others from my universe are from farther into the future than I am. So they might know."
Re: 5
"Huh, yeah we get that a lot too," added Kamala. "We have a Scott Summers and a whole X-men team from the past in the present right now. Time is really kind of wibbly wobbly where I come from."
Re: 5
"That sounds...confusing," Tony said as diplomatically as he could. But considering how well she was taking the whole alternate universe thing -- not to mention the being stuck in a weird new place thing -- he guessed you just got used to it after a while.
"Just the Avengers right now, as far as I know," he added. "And most of them are here. Except Hawkeye."
Re: 5
"It must be nice, at least being able to know everyone on a small group basis instead of sifting through, gosh there must be almost a hundred rotating heroes in the Avengers, not to mention all of their branches too."
Re: 5
Tony opened his mouth and then just closed it again. He probably didn't want to know. And he definitely couldn't imagine Barton breeding, as little time as he spent with the guy.
"We aren't exactly close," he said with a slight shrug, metallic shoulders creaking slightly. "I mean, in my time. Apparently that changes at some point."
Re: 5
"But you know, stuff." Kamala grinned. "I'm just a girl from Jersey trying to make it in a world already overpopulated by Superheroes."
Re: 5
"I won't hold the Jersey thing against you," he promised with great solemnity. "And you seem to be doing okay from what I can see." Not that he knew much about her world, but she could certainly handle herself in a fight.
Re: 5
"Well yeah... it's kind of a change but it's nothing I can't handle." She got a bit of a faraway look in her eyes for a moment. "My world's kind of used to weathering crisis after crisis."
Considering my world is gone...
Re: 5
Something about that distant look triggered warning bells, but Tony was hardly the first person anyone would go to for comfort, even if he knew her well enough to try. "Well at least you're one up on most of the people here," he said instead. When in doubt, distract.
"I freaked out at least once." Or a few times.
Re: 5
"Do you still drink by the way? Our Tony quit back in the... 90s? 80s? Somewhere around there. I know it's a bit of a personal question but it was super big news at the time since he stopped accepting gifts in high quality alcohol." Kamala cringed immediately, feeling she stepped into something.
Blast my runny mouth!
Re: 5
Tony opened his mouth and then immediately closed it again. Now there was a question he hadn't seen coming. "I...try not to overdo it," he said a little cautiously. Some version of him had stopped? Completely? He couldn't tell if he was impressed or disappointed.
Re: 5
She shouldn't be comparing the two, she really shouldn't. And yet a thousand questions were running through her mind. Why was the hero count so low? If the world ended due to a catastrophic dimension imbalance, was he from one of those worlds that ended?
Re: 5
"It's okay," he said with a smile that was at least mostly genuine. "I guarantee you I've heard worse." And he might have taken offense, but. Even he wasn't enough of an asshole to want to make the girl sad. There was just something about her that made him feel worse the more upset she looked.
Re: 5
She smiled a little, rubbing her head. "But at least I'm glad you're doing all right."
Re: 5
"I'm managing," he agreed with a more honest smile. He certainly wasn't going to tell her otherwise, anyway. "You know your version of me pretty well, huh?"
Re: 5
"I'm just a small time superhero in Jersey," she continued, placing her hand on the nearby post. "I came into my powers six months ago, and I still feel out of place. And then I discover that people have their eye on me, that I'm making a difference. Even Wolverine said I had what it takes to be a hero. And I've always... fought hard, to be accepted. Which is why I look up to my Tony, and I hope I can do the same."
Re: 5
"That's usually the first step," Tony said, feeling slightly warmed for reasons he didn't feel like naming. And people said his ego didn't need feeding. "Wanting to make a difference, I mean. Getting powers probably helps. Or making yourself some."
Re: 5
Holding up her hand, it enlarged to the size of a basketball briefly, glowing a soft yellow light. "When I first got my powers, I was kind of afraid. Like I wasn't myself, so I hid myself as one of my favorite heroes. But over time, I began to make a name for myself, even if I was using a name that had been given up previously for another."
Her hand shrinking down, Kamala smiled. "Carol, I mean Captain Marvel, said she was proud of what I did. She even gave me this pendant with our intertwined symbols on it to signal her when I needed help. It feels nice... to be acknowledged, you know?"
no subject
"I can understand that," Tony agreed, even if he didn't know what a Captain Marvel was. He certainly still wasn't trying to get his father to acknowledge him twenty years after it was too late. "People don't like to admit it, but validation is important."
no subject
"Sorry, I didn't mean to feelings dump all over you, Mr. Stark, I just somehow felt like I needed to talk. I don't get to talk much with my fellow heroes, they don't really come into Jersey much at all. It's just me there."
