Welcome to Medietas! Do you have an interest in joining the game? Is there an old muse that you want to dust off? Or, perhaps you're looking for a place to voice test a brand new character and would like to do so in our little island setting among friends? Well, whatever the reason, this is where you can do that!

You all know what to do! If you don’t, just follow the instructions and HAVE FUN!

How To Play:

→ Comment with the character you’d like to test drive. Don’t forget to add their name and canon in the subject line.
→ Choose a scenario, or start your own!
→ Tag around!

Possible Scenarios:

1. Getting Settled: So, now that you've arrived and wandered around the starter home you've been given, it's time to check out the rest of the islands. There's a market on Aerilon that is full of treasures. Or, you can check out Chapter Six bookstore. Perhaps you wander over to the Mean Princess facility on Mulciber. There is so much to see and do!

2. Islands: There is definitely some weirdness going on around the islands from the sidewalks that glow to the mysterious energy that doesn't seem to have any direct source. There are statues that hum softly and seem to grow every so often. And what is with these bridges? Go forth and investigate! Puzzles are FUN!

3. PARTY: Every month or so there's always a celebration somewhere, be it on Mulciber, Imber, Mundus, Eurus, and now Nidus! Eat, drink, dance, talk among the other islanders. It's about making new friends and enjoying yourself, right? Even if you have been stolen away from your home world to a bunch of floating islands.

4. Trouble!: All is quiet and calm when suddenly the warning signals across each of the islands sound. Not long after, or, at least only long enough to get prepared, a large hydra creature crawling out of the lake on Imber. Do what you can to help remove this threat before it gets to any of the other islands!

5. Wild Card: Got something else in mind and want to create your own scenario? Go for it!

"That's me." She was right on both counts.

It looked largely dry inside and no obvious rats, so he stepped inside, making sure to shine the light from his phone so Padmé would be able to see where she was going too.

"All seems normal so far." And there was enough light from outside to see where they were going, if not exactly what they were stepping in.

"You do realize by saying that out loud, something completely not normal is going to happen." Although Padmé was simply tugging his leg a little. Whether it did or didn't had nothing to do with vocalizing it. She did glance around, but he was correct. It wasn't as if there were any signs proclaiming danger, or anything that looked out of place.

"Something abnormal always happens with me around." He grinned at her, holding his phone up to light his face. But then he stopped and frowned. "Can you hear that?" He was pretty sure he could hear the sound of something electrical humming. He switched his phone off, in case it was that.

"Perhaps you should come with a warning," Padmé supplied, although if she was bothered by it, she didn't actually show it. Anakin had said on more than one occasion that he had a habit of rescuing her from various situations.

She did pause, breathing lightly, and tilting her head ever so, listened. It was faint, but Padmé nodded. "Yes. It appears to be coming from up ahead?"
tript: (what is that?)

[personal profile] tript 2017-03-10 07:43 am (UTC)(link)
"Let's find out what it is." He kept his phone off - they were probably better off letting their eyes adjust to the growing dark. He walked slowly and cautiously and the humming grew louder as they got closer to it.

And then there was what looked like a large, gray shape in their way. Trip turned his phone back on and shone it ahead of them. It lit up a statue. "How did that get here?"
democratically: (what we are)

[personal profile] democratically 2017-03-11 03:43 am (UTC)(link)
It was ginger steps that Padmé took, one small one in front of the other. While she did not expect anything to pop out in front of them, she also hadn't expected to come back to life. Yet here she was.

Shading her eyes for a moment, Padmé blinked owlishly at what he was referring to. "Well. Either on purpose, or not. Given this place, I would go with the latter."
tript: (what is that?)

[personal profile] tript 2017-03-12 12:24 pm (UTC)(link)
"So would I." He shone his phone closer to get a better look, but it just appeared to be a humming statue. That was impossible to get round without touching it.

"We can't just leave and can't just stand around looking at it." They could, of course, but Trip wasn't happy with the mystery staying a mystery. So he poked the statue with his phone.

ooc: I'm happy for you to surprise me with what the statue does (or doesn't do) to Trip (or Padmé)

"There are other places we might try," Padmé supplied, frowning slightly in thought. Would they all be like this though? She didn't know but it could have ended up here as a buffer against whatever lay beyond it.

She had been wondering if there was some way to move it if even a little so that they could slip by, when he did poke it. The humming seemed to grow, and grow, and grow, until Padmé could feel it through the tunnels around them, and the statue started to teeter back and forth. "Oh! I don't think it liked that..."
tript: (fear and worry)

[personal profile] tript 2017-03-13 09:32 pm (UTC)(link)
"Maybe we should run." Trip turned, but pushed Padmé in front of him, so he was between her and the statue. He risked a look behind him, to see the statue was teetering more. If it fell over it could fall back or on top of them. Which he was sure wouldn't do them any good.
democratically: (we can just)

[personal profile] democratically 2017-03-15 01:14 am (UTC)(link)
It was the question in what direction they should run. Given the way it was moving, it could, arguably, end up in either direction. Yet the shove aided in the choice, letting Padmé take a few stumbling steps forward, followed by a few more, before turning back over her shoulder. Unless it grew working legs, it wasn't as if it could follow them. "Trip..."
tript: (what is that?)

[personal profile] tript 2017-03-18 11:22 am (UTC)(link)
Trip was right behind her. He wasn't risking his life just for curiosity. He was used to running from danger, albeit not in a drain.

He looked back over his shoulder to see the statue was still teetering and didn't seem to be going further over in either direction. Which was just another odd thing to add to the list.

But if he thought they were safe he was mistaken: water was starting to pool around their feet. "Keep going!" The sooner they were out of here, the better.
democratically: (hesitate)

[personal profile] democratically 2017-03-19 04:25 am (UTC)(link)
"Oh!" There was a surprised hint to her voice, and it was all Padmé needed to actually run like her life depended on it, and it quite possibly did. She did maintain a schedule here, jogging in the mornings and doing other routines that she had learned when training with her handmaidens. But there it was, a few more feet ahead of them, and Padmé scrambled to reach it.
tript: (collapsed)

[personal profile] tript 2017-03-19 03:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Trip easily kept up with Padmé, his time working on Enterprise, and his free time in the gym, kept him in shape. But the rising water level didn't help their speed.

When he reached the opening they'd come in from, he lunged for the outside. For a moment it felt like the water was going to suck him back in, but he made it to the dry ground, panting and hoping nothing was going to follow them out.
democratically: (and deeply)

[personal profile] democratically 2017-03-19 05:22 pm (UTC)(link)
She could feel her own pulse rising with the water, sucking in breaths as she ran. He was close enough that all she had to do was tilt her head and see him, yet out they went, and Padmé darted to the side, panting. Her toes squished within her boots and for a moment there was silence, before she couldn't help but let a small laugh escape, followed by another, until it rippled down from her. "Well... That was certainly unexpected. Are you alright, or should I start to drag you back to the clinic again?"
tript: (smile)

[personal profile] tript 2017-03-19 08:49 pm (UTC)(link)
He smiled at her laughter. Escaping from trouble was a nice, normal thing to do. He'd sort of missed it. But now the adrenalin was starting to wear off he wasn't completely alright: the way he'd fallen hadn't done his poor, abused shoulders much good. He wasn't about to admit it, though.

"I'm fine," he said, sitting up and wringing the water out from the bottom of his pants. "Are you alright?" Looking back into the drain it seemed quiet, so they were safe at least.
democratically: (pause)

[personal profile] democratically 2017-03-19 11:55 pm (UTC)(link)
How many times had Padmé found herself in a situation like that? Far too many for a mere Senator to find herself in. Yet, one could argue that she had never been anything remotely close to mere in her life. It was her political stance that had actually put her in to some of the situations that she had found herself in.

"A little winded and a bit more wet, but nothing that needs medical attention." Padmé did glance back in the direction that they had come from, nose wrinkling ever so. "Although it seems that that approach is no longer viable."
tript: (thoughtful)

[personal profile] tript 2017-03-20 08:07 pm (UTC)(link)
"I guess not." He sighed. "I feel like something is trying to tell us not to investigate further." But he grinned as he added, "Just makes me want to find out what's going on all the more."
democratically: (res ipsa loquitur)

[personal profile] democratically 2017-03-23 01:22 am (UTC)(link)
"Mm. We could always ask on the network here. There maybe others who have encountered this situation." And who might have insight on it, and on what they had done to date to investigate it.
tript: (hand to mouth thinking)

[personal profile] tript 2017-03-23 02:21 pm (UTC)(link)
"Good idea." When Trip looked round for his phone he found it on the floor. He must have dropped it when he fell. It was only when he picked it up he found it wasn't in one piece any more.

But there was a light in his eyes as he picked up the pieces, finding it needed some work before he could use it again. "This won't take long to fix," he assured Padmé. After all, pretty much the first thing he'd done with it was to take it apart to understand it.
democratically: (what would you)

[personal profile] democratically 2017-03-24 02:00 am (UTC)(link)
Glancing in his direction, Padmé found her eyes settling on the device, and also found herself regarding him. It was surprising, although it shouldn't truly be. It wasn't as if she knew a lot about him to begin with. "You are truly able to fix it?"
tript: (smile)

[personal profile] tript 2017-03-27 10:59 am (UTC)(link)
"Yes," he said confidently. Although he then amended it to, "Probably." Some of the parts might need replacing, if they're beyond repair, but this was simpler than most things he had to repair or build on Enterprise. "I like fixing things," he added with a smile.
democratically: (picnic confused)

[personal profile] democratically 2017-03-28 02:27 am (UTC)(link)
"I honestly have no idea what happens if you break them..." Padmé could not say that she had seen a place for repairs, but she also had never looked for one. She'd been mindful of her own, but accidents did happen. "Perhaps those at the docks might be able to help, if you are unable to."
tript: (thinking)

[personal profile] tript 2017-03-28 11:23 am (UTC)(link)
"People must break these from time to time," he reasoned. "So there must be other people who can fix them. Or provide new ones." These phones had to come from somewhere, after all. "All I have to do is find them. Which will be easier once I've fixed this," he added, looking at his broken phone.
democratically: (tatooine white)

[personal profile] democratically 2017-03-29 01:10 am (UTC)(link)
"Those that go traversing down tunnels, likely." Which typically wasn't Padmé. Not that she shied from such things, but she had settled down in to life as a school teacher here. "Your services may be in high demand, if you can."

Then again, if he was handy, he likely would be. There was only so much that could be done here. There were no giant factories or trade from other planets. Just what was brought in.
tript: (looking down smile)

[personal profile] tript 2017-03-29 07:47 pm (UTC)(link)
He grinned, recognizing the comment about traversing down tunnels as being directed at him. "I hope so. If I'm stuck here then I want to be useful." Considering he was used to working hard and playing hard, he wasn't too sure about the idea of just playing hard for a while.
