Welcome to Medietas! Do you have an interest in joining the game? Is there an old muse that you want to dust off? Or, perhaps you're looking for a place to voice test a brand new character and would like to do so in our little island setting among friends? Well, whatever the reason, this is where you can do that!
You all know what to do! If you don’t, just follow the instructions and HAVE FUN!
How To Play:
→ Comment with the character you’d like to test drive. Don’t forget to add their name and canon in the subject line.
→ Choose a scenario, or start your own!
→ Tag around!
Possible Scenarios:
1. Getting Settled: So, now that you've arrived and wandered around the starter home you've been given, it's time to check out the rest of the islands. There's a market on Aerilon that is full of treasures. Or, you can check out Chapter Six bookstore. Perhaps you wander over to the Mean Princess facility on Mulciber. There is so much to see and do!
2. Islands: There is definitely some weirdness going on around the islands from the sidewalks that glow to the mysterious energy that doesn't seem to have any direct source. There are statues that hum softly and seem to grow every so often. And what is with these bridges? Go forth and investigate! Puzzles are FUN!
3. PARTY: Every month or so there's always a celebration somewhere, be it on Mulciber, Imber, Mundus, Eurus, and now Nidus! Eat, drink, dance, talk among the other islanders. It's about making new friends and enjoying yourself, right?
4. Trouble!: All is quiet and calm when suddenly the warning signals across each of the islands sound. Not long after, or, at least only long enough to get prepared, a large hydra creature crawling out of the lake on Imber. Do what you can to help remove this threat before it gets to any of the other islands!
5. Wild Card: Got something else in mind and want to create your own scenario? Go for it!
Cobweb | Wraeththu | TAKE 2
[First an unplanned boat ride (where would that even have been possible) and now a city full of...humanity. And greater than any human place that still existed. The air tastes like magic, and the bridges are built of light. It's a dream he had once, and no one understood. He's just never imagined that it could be real.
If it is a dream, it certainly doesn't feel like it. But if it isn't then what is he supposed to do now?
He stands, stubbornly, on the end of a rainbow, unsure of whether or not he should test it. Things like that could never be trusted outright. Magic is always treacherous and this magic he doesn't understand, and can't wrestle into doing what he wants.
Perhaps, though, that's the point.]
What treachery is this, then? Who whispered?
3.
[With so many humans crowded into one place, Cobweb feels...anxious. Alone. Not another har in sight. And with the close proximity to humanity...he'd never seen so many in one place. And with all of them pressing together and up against him, the escape routes seemed to be few and far between. He wasn't interested in initiating interaction with any of them. Mostly he was trying not to draw attention to himself, off in one corner, trying to look terrifying instead of terrified, keenly aware of the fact that he's desperately outnumbered.
There's something mystical in the air--something portentous in being surrounded. Maybe this is a dream. Maybe he'll wake up soon with more magic about him.
It doesn't feel like one, though.]

And if he was lucky, the Hegemony would never find out. Life was good.
"Cobweb, as beautiful as always. You are a sight to behold. Now, don't tell me a few humans make you uncomfortable?" They were tools, couldn't you see that? Purely utilitarian. Think of how much power he could raise with all this humans here. The thought was exquisite. Shame there were a limited number of children though.
EW COOTIES
At least he stood his ground. He wasn't supposed to be a Varr anymore.
"Lianvis. Is your own hole not good enough?"
Re: EW COOTIES
"I was lonely without such beautiful company as yourself. Surely you don't mind if I join you? Such a night, with such power in the air." He gave the other har a beastly grin. "We could always crack open a human and see whats going on?"
Re: EW COOTIES
"I will have no part in blood." Was there even any har here he could hide behind, who he could tell at least to keep himself protected? He had his own magic, but his own doubts about withstanding the darkness Lianvis could raise with spilled life.
"Make your sacrifices elsewhere and without me."
Re: EW COOTIES
Giving an extravagant sigh, Lianvis never let the smile leave his face. "Very well, you're tying my hands you know."
No, Lianvis would no doubt get bored very quickly. With the dilemma here to occupy his mind, he desperately wanted to find out what made it tick. He could only skirt the issue of blood and power for so long before he needed it in order to ascend to the next level. Still, he'd agreed on behalf of his tribe to curb their more....beastly practices. And the Gelaming needed their support, as well as their information. It was mutually beneficial. But here? With no Gelaming support or watcher? Hara and humans alike might be in trouble.
"I'd rather be with you. I've heard quite a lot about you."
Re: EW COOTIES
He was tempted for half a moment to just leave, but Lianvis would follow and in such a strange place surrounded by so many humans there was really no telling what would happen to him. And even if the company was human, he didn't want ot be left alone with that har.
"Such as?"
Re: Cobweb | Wraeththu | TAKE 2
"I didn't see you there."
no subject
"Then it was working. I do not wish to be seen."
no subject
"Ah. I see. I hope you don't mind me hiding with you for a moment?" If not well, he can find another corner.
no subject
So he nods once, and steps to the side to make room, brushing his long dark hair back out of his eyes with a graceful hand.
"Are you chased out of the light by your own kind, then?"
no subject
"Ah. No. I'm just taking a moment away from the people? I tend to spend a lot of time on my own."
no subject
"Why? Why separate yourself?"
no subject
"My job doesn't lend itself to staying in one place," he said, fingers absently brushing themselves across the bells.
no subject
"What job would that be?"
no subject
No one here had Charter Marks or magic, so he felt like he was beyond the wall. Especially since people didn't know what it was.
no subject
"What do you do?"
no subject
He could show off some Charter Magic if asked, because he does use that as well.
no subject
"A defender of innocents, then. But is it a desire or a calling, I wonder? Are you made that way or made to be that way?"
no subject
Oh, he knew the rhyme about the seven great Charters. Everyone did. But that didn't quite explain it as much as the Book of the Dead's last page.

"Made, then. What of the bells?"
no subject
Again he sounded like he was repeating what he's been taught.
no subject
When he spoke again, his voice was soft, almost prayer-like, and his words more like incantation than observation.
"A song for the departed, sung by the wind and the trees."
