Welcome to Medietas! Do you have an interest in joining the game? Is there an old muse that you want to dust off? Or, perhaps you're looking for a place to voice test a brand new character and would like to do so in our little island setting among friends? Well, whatever the reason, this is where you can do that!

You all know what to do! If you don’t, just follow the instructions and HAVE FUN!

How To Play:

→ Comment with the character you’d like to test drive. Don’t forget to add their name and canon in the subject line.
→ Choose a scenario, or start your own!

Possible Scenarios:

1. Getting Settled: So, now that you've arrived and wandered around the starter home you've been given, it's time to check out the rest of the islands. There's a market on Aerilon that is full of treasures. Or, you can check out Chapter Six bookstore. Perhaps you wander over to the Mean Princess facility on Mulciber. There is so much to see and do!

2. Islands: There is definitely some weirdness going on around the islands from the sidewalks that glow to the mysterious energy that doesn't seem to have any direct source. There are statues that hum softly and seem to grow every so often. And what is with these bridges? Go forth and investigate! Puzzles are FUN!

3. PARTY: Every month or so there's always a celebration somewhere, be it on Mulciber, Imber, Mundus, or Eurus! Eat, drink, dance, talk among the other islanders. It's about making new friends and enjoying yourself, right? Even if you have been stolen away from your homeworld to a bunch of floating islands.

4. Wild Card: Got something else in mind and want to create your own scenario? Go for it!

Ah, he's from a different universe, apparently. One where he seems to know her. Interesting. She accepts the drink and takes a sip thoughtfully. "It's like seeing a king mucking around in the dirt." The very idea is almost offensive to Emma. "But I suppose you're from well before all that. Perhaps it's for the best." She didn't sound very convinced.

That earns a raised eyebrow from him. A king? As appealing as it would sometimes be to rule the world, and as sure as he is that he could make it happen, it seems like rather a moot point in this place. "There aren't an abundance of jobs for people who can control metal with their minds."

[diamonds_are_forever]

"Oh darling, do you think that's all you can do? You control a fundamental force of the universe. It's for more than shaking up martinis, though you do that passably well." Emma thought she might die of shock. He was so young.

[frankensteinian]

"There aren't a lot of jobs that require controlling a fundamental force of the universe, either." If he can't find something that uses his abilities in a practical way, then he might as well at least find something that he can tolerate.

[diamonds_are_forever]

"Not here, perhaps," When she considered it she had no idea how Magneto got the funding for his schemes. Probably he just stole things. "Have you been here long?" It was probably time to stop feeding his ego.

[frankensteinian]

"Here is where I'm stuck, for the time being." So it seems that he has to play by the rules of this place, or at least as much as he ever did. It would be a lot harder to hide out in this place than it had been back in his world.

"A few weeks." So not long, really, but long enough to know already that he wishes he could leave here.

"Ugh," Emma notes. "I've been here a week and I feel like I'm about to go mad from boredom. There's too much going on back home for me to take a vacation." Even if it meant she got to teach, which was what she'd always wanted.

He doesn't know what's going on back home, and he probably doesn't want to, anyway. He doubts he could make sense of it, from what he remembers of his conversations after his arrival, and the blame he received for things he hadn't done. He wonders if this would be more of the same.

"If it helps, from what I've heard, when you leave here, it's back to the time you left. So everything going on right now will still be going on when you return."

Which probably doesn't help. It wouldn't help him.

That is something of a comfort. Emma purses her lips and nods. "That is good to know. I'm involved in a rather delicate double agent situation and I'd really rather not abandon my cause at a time like this. Things are going well and I want to make them go even better." Even though she still felt like an outsider among the X-men sometimes.

[frankensteinian]

"This fact doesn't stop most from wanting to find a way to go home, from what I've noticed." Because they dislike the lack of control they have over it, or because they miss home, or any other reason. It doesn't really matter why someone might want to go home, if it means they'll try and find a way.

"It sounds like you found yourself some danger."

[diamonds_are_forever]

"I'm a mutant. Danger finds me. This particular mission is self-directed, though. I've been given the opportunity to spy on a lunatic and I simply couldn't give up the chance."

She chuckled a little, sipping her drink. "But I suppose I have no choice but to wait until I go back to deal with all that. May I ask how old you are? It's quite possible I'm not even born yet in your timeline, yet you act like you know who I am."

"I do know who you are." Which is really the easiest way to explain it, probably. "We worked together for awhile. Until..." He can't tell her that she's dead where he comes from. No one wants to hear that. "I went off on my own." Which he had, really.

"From what I understand, there can be different versions of the same universe here. That's probably what this is."

[diamonds_are_forever]

"Ah," Emma said, nodding once. "That does make more sense. In what capacity did we work together?" She can see herself forming alliances like that. Erik is powerful and has a vision for mutants that she would have found appealing before she realized that it wouldn't work out well for mutantkind. She can't help but think that he must have worked with an inferior version of herself.

[frankensteinian]

"We had a mutual acquaintance." That's all that he's going to say about that. "After he died, he thought it might be helpful to have a telepath around. Our association only lasted about a year though." Until he'd left for Dallas.

[diamonds_are_forever]

"Hmm." There was clearly more to the story. She thought about looking at his mind, but disregarded it. What good did it do to know about things that didn't affect her?

"Well in my universe we have similar goals but different methods. Or we did. Or do. Your goals are difficult to discern at the best of times. You're also quite a bit older than me."

[frankensteinian]

"All I've ever done is fight for people like us." It's just his methods of doing so that some object to. "For awhile you were part of that fight."

[diamonds_are_forever]

"That's all I've done as well. I was simply inefficient at it in my past." She shrugged. It was unlikely he'd come around to see things her way, so she didn't elaborate. "Why did I stop your universe?"

[frankensteinian]

"You didn't. I did." She had too, in fact, but he's not telling her how it ended for her there. He hadn't seen it. Hadn't been able to stop it. And Charles...well, the less said about that, the better.

"I went to do something that was necessary, and I was arrested."

[diamonds_are_forever]

There was no reason to persue the whole truth, so she didn't bother. Instead she finished her drink and contemplated the glad. "Do you miss your home? Did it ever get any better?"

[frankensteinian]

"No." For awhile it had been better, but then he'd had a rude awakening that reminded him that it couldn't stay that way. "It was better for awhile, but it was inevitable that it would come to an end. There's some unfinished business, but otherwise there's nothing in particular to go back to."

[diamonds_are_forever]

Emma considered that. It was about what she'd expected. "I'll take another drink, then."

She watched him mix it, noticing that he wrote what looked like a wedding band on his left hand. For a moment she was furiously jealous. She wasn't sure why. Did she truly envy Erik for being married? It has obviously not brought him any joy.

She considered what it would be like to marry Scott, to truly build a life with him. Then she rejected the notion. They weren't going to be together forever. He would find someone else or simply realize what kind of woman he'd let on his bed and leave her. Best not to bring legal matters into the equation.

"Now you know why I work in a bar." Never mind that he's not really supposed to drink on the job. When has he ever cared about following the rules? It's not like he's the only one who does it.

"Have you seen any of the others yet?"

Before answering Emma sipped her drink. Working at a bar would probably lead her to alcohol poisoning right now. "Remy was here earlier, but I doubt he has made you feel very welcome." That one mess she was grateful not to be cleaning up anymore.

[frankensteinian]

"He didn't seem too happy to see me." At least it hadn't come to anything more than that. "I don't know the history there. Different universes again."

[diamonds_are_forever]

"Frankly the less you know the happier you'll be. It's about a woman. It always is with him." She shrugged. Remy wasn't high on her list of people she'd want to be stuck on an island with, but he was better than nobody at all. "I'm also aware that Charles is here, though he feels different. I assume that too is due to a universal difference."
