Welcome to Medietas! Do you have an interest in joining the game? Is there an old muse that you want to dust off? Or, perhaps you're looking for a place to voice test a brand new character and would like to do so in our little island setting among friends? Well, whatever the reason, this is where you can do that!

You all know what to do! If you don’t, just follow the instructions and HAVE FUN!

How To Play:

→ Comment with the character you’d like to test drive. Don’t forget to add their name and canon in the subject line.
→ Choose a scenario, or start your own!
→ Tag around!

Possible Scenarios:

1. Getting Settled: So, now that you've arrived and wandered around the starter home you've been given, it's time to check out the rest of the islands. There's a market on Aerilon that is full of treasures. Or, you can check out Chapter Six bookstore. Perhaps you wander over to the Mean Princess facility on Mulciber. There is so much to see and do!

2. Islands: There is definitely some weirdness going on around the islands from the sidewalks that glow to the mysterious energy that doesn't seem to have any direct source. There are statues that hum softly and seem to grow every so often. And what is with these bridges? Go forth and investigate! Puzzles are FUN!

3. PARTY: Every month or so there's always a celebration somewhere, be it on Mulciber, Imber, Mundus, or Eurus! Eat, drink, dance, talk among the other islanders. It's about making new friends and enjoying yourself, right? Even if you have been stolen away from your homeworld to a bunch of floating islands.

4. Wild Card: Got something else in mind and want to create your own scenario? Go for it!

"Ah," Emma said, nodding once. "That does make more sense. In what capacity did we work together?" She can see herself forming alliances like that. Erik is powerful and has a vision for mutants that she would have found appealing before she realized that it wouldn't work out well for mutantkind. She can't help but think that he must have worked with an inferior version of herself.

"We had a mutual acquaintance." That's all that he's going to say about that. "After he died, he thought it might be helpful to have a telepath around. Our association only lasted about a year though." Until he'd left for Dallas.

"Hmm." There was clearly more to the story. She thought about looking at his mind, but disregarded it. What good did it do to know about things that didn't affect her?

"Well in my universe we have similar goals but different methods. Or we did. Or do. Your goals are difficult to discern at the best of times. You're also quite a bit older than me."

[frankensteinian]

"All I've ever done is fight for people like us." It's just his methods of doing so that some object to. "For awhile you were part of that fight."

"That's all I've done as well. I was simply inefficient at it in my past." She shrugged. It was unlikely he'd come around to see things her way, so she didn't elaborate. "Why did I stop your universe?"

"You didn't. I did." She had too, in fact, but he's not telling her how it ended for her there. He hadn't seen it. Hadn't been able to stop it. And Charles...well, the less said about that, the better.

"I went to do something that was necessary, and I was arrested."

There was no reason to persue the whole truth, so she didn't bother. Instead she finished her drink and contemplated the glad. "Do you miss your home? Did it ever get any better?"

[frankensteinian]

"No." For awhile it had been better, but then he'd had a rude awakening that reminded him that it couldn't stay that way. "It was better for awhile, but it was inevitable that it would come to an end. There's some unfinished business, but otherwise there's nothing in particular to go back to."

Emma considered that. It was about what she'd expected. "I'll take another drink, then."

She watched him mix it, noticing that he wrote what looked like a wedding band on his left hand. For a moment she was furiously jealous. She wasn't sure why. Did she truly envy Erik for being married? It has obviously not brought him any joy.

She considered what it would be like to marry Scott, to truly build a life with him. Then she rejected the notion. They weren't going to be together forever. He would find someone else or simply realize what kind of woman he'd let on his bed and leave her. Best not to bring legal matters into the equation.

"Now you know why I work in a bar." Never mind that he's not really supposed to drink on the job. When has he ever cared about following the rules? It's not like he's the only one who does it.

"Have you seen any of the others yet?"

Before answering Emma sipped her drink. Working at a bar would probably lead her to alcohol poisoning right now. "Remy was here earlier, but I doubt he has made you feel very welcome." That one mess she was grateful not to be cleaning up anymore.

"He didn't seem too happy to see me." At least it hadn't come to anything more than that. "I don't know the history there. Different universes again."

"Frankly the less you know the happier you'll be. It's about a woman. It always is with him." She shrugged. Remy wasn't high on her list of people she'd want to be stuck on an island with, but he was better than nobody at all. "I'm also aware that Charles is here, though he feels different. I assume that too is due to a universal difference."

"A woman?" That seems like a ridiculous reason to fight with someone, especially when they have so many legitimate threats against mutants as a whole.

"Yes. I think he's the only one who's from the same version of the universe as I am."

She couldn't blame him for being incredulous. That wasn't the whole story, of course, but Emma thought it best to leave it at that. Let Remy reveal his own terrible back story.

It was interesting that Charles and Erik were from the same universe. She wondered if the power in charge had done that in purpose. "Are you two getting along?"

[frankensteinian]

"At the moment." As long as Charles isn't trying to tell him what to do, or trivializing Erik's losses while wallowing in his own (less substantial) ones, Erik is willing to deal with him.

Which is probably a good thing. The islands certainly don't need a fight between two powerful mutants.

"I'm glad. He's probably less prone to doing something stupid if he has a peer." She hoped he was, anyway.

She sipped her drink and packed her briefcase up. "After you get off of work you should come to my place for coffee. I'll certainly awake."

[frankensteinian]

"It's not like I can stop him if he puts his mind to something." But he knows what she means. Sometimes Charles still listens to him.

"Okay. Just tell me where to find it."

Emma drew a pen out of her briefcase and w wrote her address on a napkin. She passed the paper to Erik and drained her drink. "It was a pleasure to meet you, Erik. I look forward to getting to know you."

[frankensteinian]

He glances down at the address. "I know where that is. It's just a few houses down from mine." Not far from Charles either, but he'll mention that later. "I'll see you later."

"Good, then I'm not too far out of your way. Enjoy the rest of your shift." She gathered her things, left enough money for her tab and a good tip, and left the bar.
