Welcome to Medietas! Do you have an interest in joining the game? Is there an old muse that you want to dust off? Or, perhaps you're looking for a place to voice test a brand new character and would like to do so in our little island setting among friends? Well, whatever the reason, this is where you can do that!

You all know what to do! If you don’t, just follow the instructions and HAVE FUN!

How To Play:

→ Comment with the character you’d like to test drive. Don’t forget to add their name and canon in the subject line.
→ Choose a scenario, or start your own!
→ Tag around!

Possible Scenarios:

1. Getting Settled: So, now that you've arrived and wandered around the starter home you've been given, it's time to check out the rest of the islands. There's a market on Aerilon that is full of treasures. Or, you can check out Chapter Six bookstore. Perhaps you wander over to the Mean Princess facility on Mulciber. There is so much to see and do!

2. Islands: There is definitely some weirdness going on around the islands from the sidewalks that glow to the mysterious energy that doesn't seem to have any direct source. There are statues that hum softly and seem to grow every so often. And what is with these bridges? Go forth and investigate! Puzzles are FUN!

3. PARTY: Every month or so there's always a celebration somewhere, be it on Mulciber, Imber, Mundus, or Eurus! Eat, drink, dance, talk among the other islanders. It's about making new friends and enjoying yourself, right? Even if you have been stolen away from your homeworld to a bunch of floating islands.

4. Wild Card: Got something else in mind and want to create your own scenario? Go for it!

He offered her a hand, and led the way onto the floor, then grinned as he pulled her into a couples version of the dance. Merlin's steps were precise, and fluid, and he had millennia of training to allow him to move to the music.

"You look beautiful, milady."

Caroline's dance training for the Miss Mystic pageant came back with a vengeance as she let him lead the dance. "Thank you. You're uh," she glanced down at his bare chest, "not bad yourself."

Merlin laughed softly. "I am far from your level of pretty, milady."

He had his opinions on himself.

"But I thank you, nonetheless." He danced with a grin. "Where did you learn to dance?"

"My town had a beauty pageant every year and dancing was part of it. I learned on my way to winning the Miss Mystic Falls crown." That seemed so long ago now. "I haven't had much of a chance to dance since then. I'm Caroline, by the way."

[themerlin]

"Truly? Intriguing." Merlin grinned as he listened to her.

"And my name is Merlin, milady. Tis a pleasure to meet thee. The party does seem to be a good one." He glanced around then back to her.

She looked around, then nodded. "It's pretty good, yeah. I wasn't sure what to expect. I just got here." And she's really hoping not to stay but she doesn't need to tell him that. It might spoil the mood.

[themerlin]

"Medietas is a very odd place. Half fun, half danger, with great loads of boredom in between. No one knows how to leave, but some vanish anyway, and in the meantime, we all try to enjoy ourselves and not die."

He chuckled.

"Have you seen the beach yet?"

"Very odd doesn't even begin to explain it. I've lived in a very odd place, it's got nothing on here." The no one knows how to leave thing was disheartening, though it was something she'd heard before. But she wasn't going to let that keep her from trying.

"No, I haven't really seen much of anything."

[themerlin]

"Should you desire to, twould be an honor to take thee there. I am rather fond of the beaches here, by sun or stars."

It was the kind of thing he did, when thinking. Wander the beaches and swim the depths.

"Sure, yeah," Caroline said with a smile. "That would be nice." How could you go wrong with a beach, after all?

[themerlin]

"Where are you from, if I may ask?"

As the song came to an end, he smiled and swept a bow to her. "My thanks for the dance, milady. Would you care for a drink?"

"I'm from a town called Mystic Falls, in Virginia. It's very small, you probably haven't heard of it."

She curtsied back to him, with a grin. She wasn't Miss Mystic Falls for nothing. "I would love a drink."

[themerlin]

He extended his arm to her and grinned. "This way then, milady."

He nodded as they walked. "I fear you are wrong. I do know of that town. Now I ask thee this... do you know a family called the Mikaelsons?"

Caroline took his arm and was walking with him, but she froze when he mentioned the Mikealsons. Which was probably all the answer Merlin needed, if he was acquainted with them too.

"Yeah," she said slowly, "I'm familiar with them." To say the least.

[themerlin]

Merlin nodded even as they walked. "I have known some, in other multiversal nexi. Most... were not... allies." He spoke the words softly, and held her not at all tightly. If she wished to break away, it would be easy.

As they approached the drinks area, he spoke on.

"I will you no harm, nor harm to any who does no harm to others."

Caroline was about the last person in the world to hold enmity with the Mikealsons against someone. "I don't plan on harming anyone. Or letting anyone else harm others either."

She frowned, thinking on the first thing he'd said. "What do you mean, multiversal nexi?"

[themerlin]

"It's a term for places like this, where people from many universes come together, brought together, usually, against their will by some power or another." He chuckled, then sighed.

"This is the eighth such world for me."

This was far more mind-blowing than even the Mikaelson thing. "You mean there's more than just this weird place? How do you even keep track of them?"

[themerlin]

"Aye, milady. Each one is different. One was on a starship, one in a village in mid-USA, one on a universe-traveling train." He shook his head as he arrived at the bar with her.

"Every single one has been different in some way." He smiled softly at her.

"What would you like to drink?"

Caroline had still been coming to terms with there being one world like this place. The idea of it just being one of many was just beyond anything she'd seen before.

"Um, I don't even know," she said in response to his question. "Surprise me."

[themerlin]

"As you wish." He ordered two tequila sunrises, and when they were done, held hers out to her and raised his glass in salute.

"To meeting new people, and discovering new things."

A tequila sunrise sounded just perfect right now. She raised her glass with a wry smile. "To new people and new things." She took a long drink, trying to push away thoughts of the old people and old things that she'd been rather attached to.

"Do you miss your own world?"

[themerlin]

He took a long drink, then nodded, smiling a little.

"Sometimes, yes, and yet... for me, the people and loves i knew have long ago passed into history. New worlds, new people, and new chances at love and life seem a fine thing to me." He nodded.

That made sense. Caroline's situation what quite a bit different, however. "I still have people back there who need me. As nice as meeting new people is, it's frustrating to be kept away from them."

[themerlin]

"I can imagine so. If I might offer one solace, those who go home, in the random way they do, who have come back? Have said that they were back there the instant they left, and with no memory of this place."

He nodded. He had always retains his memories of where he went, and he feared what might come if he did not.
