Welcome to Medietas! Have an interest in joining the game? Maybe you have an old muse that you want to dust off? Or, maybe you're just looking for a place to voice test a brand new character and would like to do so in our little island setting among friends? Well, whatever the reason, this is where you can do that!

You all know what to do but if you don’t, just follow the instructions and HAVE FUN!

How To Play:

→ Comment with the character you’d like to test drive. Don’t forget to add their name and canon in the subject line.
→ Choose a scenario, or start your own!
→ Tag around!

Possible Scenarios:

1. New Arrival: You've just arrived on the island of Medietas, in the city of Aerilon, via a floating boat with people you may or may not know. Of course, you can't help wondering what the heck is going on, or how you even got on the boat in the first place. But as soon as the vessel docks you are greeted by some lovely locals who offer you a map and a communications device before leaving you to your own. You probably have questions and there seems to be a number of people there already who may or may not have those answers. Talk to them! Or, get on the network and introduce yourself!

2. Getting Settled: So, now that you've arrived and wandered around the starter home you've been given, it's time to check out the rest of the islands. There's a market on Aerilon that is full of treasures. Or, you can check out Chapter Six bookstore. Perhaps you wander over to the Mean Princess facility on Mulciber. There is so much to see!

3. Event: Teams are being put together to venture out deep into the islands of Eurus and Mulciber to track and destroy a vicious beast who has been the reason for the disappearances of several island locals. Please help stop the creature before anyone else goes missing!

4. Wild Card: Got something else in mind and want to create your own scenario? Go for it!

Re: Trini Kwan | Power Rangers | New Arrival (Very preliminary voice test)

Gyda was feeling sore from training, the side of her face swollen in a way she knew a bruise would soon be forming. Both father and mother said she would be ready to train with a proper sword soon (albeit one that was blunted), and she hoped it really was the case.

The round shield was strapped across her back, along with the wooden sword she trained with. In the colder weather, she always felt better in the warmer clothing from home then the modern clothes found here, so even with all of the people around Mundus, she stuck out-not that she really minded of course.

Since her mother had arrived, she went to the island as many days as she could, wishing to see if more from home had arrived; they hadn't, and Gyda couldn't help feel a little dishearted as she meant to head back.

She was by one of the buildings when she recognized two of the names the woman said, and she turned to face her. Could this person be from the same world as Kimberly-both of them said the name Zordon.

Noticing that she had been spotted, Trini dropped her wrist and offered the other girl a smile that she hoped was friendly enough to not seem out of place, but at the same time didn't invite her to come over and talk. The clothes were odd, but she had seen odder. Odd clothes didn't guarantee this was a trap of Rita's.

Still, she was hoping this person would move on so she could go back to figuring out where she was and how to return. She knew better than to let anyone know she was a Ranger. It was one of Zordon's rules.

She could tell the woman was watching her. She didn't appear a threat, more cautious if anything-that was good in a sense, a dangerous person might appear more to try and 'not' look a threat.

"You said the name Zordon," She was too far to pick what else she heard, but the word was uncommon enough to pick up. "You're the second person I've seen to say that word. The other person was named Kimberly."

She had no reason to withhold information after all, though she was beginning to think this Zordon was especially important.

At first there was a mild sense of alarm through her at the fact that she had been over heard, that someone else here was mentioning Zordon... and then the rest of what she said caught up to her. Kim. Here? This had to be a trap... but in case it wasn't...

"You know Kim? can you tell mw where she is?"

What in the world was going on here?

"I've spoken with her, yes." She nodded, before pulling out the magic device. "They have a way for people talk to eachother over distance..." She tried to explain."

They call it the network. Yo talk over a screen, or some type letters to send as messages. You could be on another island in this world and yet exchange words with someone like they're right there."

For her time here, there's still a level of excitement as she says this. For all she knows how to use this and has used it, the device is still novel.

"But I don't know which island she's on. There are several on this world, each one linked by the bifrost. Your..your friend," least she assumed she was her friend," She tried to contact this Zordon, but I don't think anyone told her the Network is public unless they make it so. That's how we spoke."

"Can you show me this network, please? I have to find her. It's very important," Trini said. This network sounded like some odd video version of the communicators. She wasn't sure what she meant by public, though. An open frequency? That was probably it then. She would have to be cautious.

But Kim. Here. Not answering the communicator. She had to find her, and they had to get home. Together.

She nodded and once more motioned to the device. "The people you meet off the ship should've given you one of these. You flip this switch to turn on the device, and if you watch a.." She tried to recall the word. "Video screen...to appear, you press this picture over here," she showed her the icon with a camcorder picture on it'. "And you'll see a picture with yourself as well as one with whoever you're talking with."

It may've occurred to Gyda that the woman was more familiar with the technology than she was, but in this place one never knew. She certainly had no other way to explain it. "Or you can type up the words on the screen, or speak them as messages. But if you want to send a private message, you have to enter their name into 'sender' or it'll be made public."

She hoped that made sense to her.

It did and it was fascinating. "Billy would love to have one of these," she murmured. Well, two or three. At least one would be taken apart to see how it worked. "It's like a miniature Television and a phone." She thought the communicators were useful, this had the potential to be even more so. Oh, what could Billy do if he had his hands on this tech?

"Thank you so much!" she said. She gave the young girl a quick impulsive one arm'ed hug, holding the device in her free hand, studying it.

"Is he here as well, everyone who arrives here is supposed to get one, as well as a map of the islands and their assigned quarters." Except her, hers was given to her father.

The hug came as a surprise, as they were still strangers, but that didn't stop her from returning it with a one-armed hug of her own, slapping the woman on the back with an arm that was stronger than it appeared. Growing up on a Norse farm meant Gyda would've been stronger than a 12 year old from the modern era, for all her skinny built. She was also used to such hugs from the men in the Drinking hall.

"I am Gyda. I've been here since middle..near end of summer." She wasn't sure how many weeks that was, just that it was the near end of summer, close to Winternight

"That long?" she asked, concerned. Her attention left the device. "Did you chose to come here, or were you brought here like I was?" she asked, kneeling before the girl. She put the communicator in her pocket with her morpher to hold the girl's hands in her own, concerned.

She was fairly tall for her age, so the woman didn't have to kneel all that hard.

"I was sent here by my gods,' She clarified, her expression more resigned then sad or scared. "There was a fever..I think here they call it 'the flu'. So many were falling ill that mother turned the drinking hall into an infirmary, and anyone who hadn't fallen sick was made to care for them or take the bodies of those who'd died."

She didn't like to think of this, but it was in her past. The worse was over for her. "This was some days, I got sick as well. The fever was so strong I couldn't tell you for how long. All I know is that I was ill, tired, and fatigued, and then I went to sleep-or maybe that's when I died. Mother and father told me I died of the fever." There's not much of a reaction: so many of their people had died from the illness, she couldn't say she was shocked. "I woke up here instead, still feverish, but strong enough to walk off the ship, and fortunate enough to see my father on the docks."

High school positive message after school programing from the 90s? Yes, I do think so.

[personal profile] speaks_billy 2016-11-14 05:22 am (UTC)(link)
.... Died? How could she have died and then be here and fine? And... what country was she from that people were dying from a flu? Trini's brain was already ticking through fundraisers they could host to send money to her people. Bake sales were a good one. A talent show might be another. Perhaps a charity karate competition, and maybe even a science fair to create things that could help a third world country.

"I admit I don't understand," Trini said, "but if there is anything I can do you help you and your family, I will. Okay?"

And since she was kneeling, she was looking up t the younger girl.

[personal profile] like_quicksilver 2016-11-15 03:54 am (UTC)(link)
She frowned, but then recalled that the woman just arrived here and didn't know better. "Of course not, you just arrived here."

The woman had yet to tell her her name, but even looking at her, Gyda could tell she was from a modern era, or atleast a place where they had controlled heat-no one wore that sort of clothing if it wasn't a warm place. "Something you need to know about this place. Not everyone here is from the same time. Home..well, home for me was Denmark, the year seven hundred and ninety five. If I didn't arrive here, it would be in Helfiem, the realm of those who die from old age or sickness.""

To a student of history, that would be enough to put some of the pieces together: her clothes and the weapons on her back, the year she was from, and the name..she was from the age of the vikings. "You also haven't given me your name."
speaks_billy: (Wha?)

Wow

[personal profile] speaks_billy 2016-11-15 07:45 am (UTC)(link)
Trini rocked back slightly at that.

"I'm sorry, I'm Trini. I'm from California, in the United States.... which... wasn't founded until the 1700s," she realized, speaking as she winced a bit. "How is it that we're speaking the same language then?" That really didn't make any sense.

or atleast leading up to it

"Is it very warm over there?" The clothing just seemed to scream that.

At the second question, she once more held out the device. "This has some magic to it. So long as I have it switched on, it.." She tried and failed to think of how to explain it. "The magic translates my words to english-you see?"

Gydaturned the device off and handed it to her. Like a literally switch was turned off, the words she spoke were Norse, not english, and definitely a language Trini wouldn't recognize. "My name is Gyda, I'm twelve years old., I can speak little english now-different from Athelstan's english."

She says the last few words in slow, deliberate english. Even with the device, she's been trying to learn to actually speak and understand the language on her own.

"Very, but we have earthquakes," she said before the translator was switched off, offering a small smile.

She did blink at the technology of the device, holding it when it was handed to her. She listened, then nodded. She spoke slowly and carefully, "That was very well done," she told her, meaning her attempt at English. She wasn't sure what country Athelstan was, but then she hand't studied as much history as she probably should have.

"I will practice English with you," she said still careful and deliberate, "Whenever you wish. And if you want," a small smile, "I can also teach you Chinese."
