Welcome to Medietas! Have an interest in joining the game? Maybe you have an old muse that you want to dust off? Or, maybe you're just looking for a place to voice test a brand new character and would like to do so in our little island setting among friends? Well, whatever the reason, this is where you can do that!

You all know what to do but if you don’t, just follow the instructions and HAVE FUN!

How To Play:

→ Comment with the character you’d like to test drive. Don’t forget to add their name and canon in the subject line.
→ Choose a scenario, or start your own!
→ Tag around!

Possible Scenarios:

1. New Arrival: You've just arrived on the island of Medietas, in the city of Aerilon, via a floating boat with people you may or may not know. Of course, you can't help wondering what the heck is going on, or how you even got on the boat in the first place. But as soon as the vessel docks you are greeted by some lovely locals who offer you a map and a communications device before leaving you to your own. You probably have questions and there seems to be a number of people there already who may or may not have those answers. Talk to them! Or, get on the network and introduce yourself!

2. Getting Settled: So, now that you've arrived and wandered around the starter home you've been given, it's time to check out the rest of the islands. There's a market on Aerilon that is full of treasures. Or, you can check out Chapter Six bookstore. Perhaps you wander over to the Mean Princess facility on Mulciber. There is so much to see!

3. Event: Teams are being put together to venture out deep into the islands of Eurus and Mulciber to track and destroy a vicious beast who has been the reason for the disappearances of several island locals. Please help stop the creature before anyone else goes missing!

4. Wild Card: Got something else in mind and want to create your own scenario? Go for it!

1. New Arrival

Hermione stepped off the boat along with a few others. Being immediately greeted and offered information was a bit of a surprise but she took the map and communication device politely. Now armed with information, Hermione scanned the map to see where she should start first. Naturally she centered no bookstores and libraries. As far as she was concerned, books were an important source of information. Whether or not it would turn out to be good information was another story.

So she chose the closest bookstore to start off with.

2. Network

[it didn't take too long for Hermione to figure out the device. Once she has the video function on she gives a smile]

Oh, this is much nicer than talking to a book. I don't suppose anyone here is from a place where you communicated that way, are you?

[He offers a sort of smile in return.]

I spent twelve years in a place where I only had a book to talk to.

Twelve years? [she won't jump to any conclusions just yet] Did you happen to live in a castle?

[charliecrews]

Yes.

Well... It was sort of a castle. Kind of depended on your position.

[He doesn't realize she's being literal.]

[just the sort of vague answer she was expecting, honestly. But she will try the blunt approach anyway]

Would you tell me which one you were living in?

[charliecrews]

[The bluntness catches him off-guard and so he thinks she somehow already knows his answer. Pointless to try to cover it up any.]

[not being very familiar with America, she doesn't really know much about that place. But she does know it isn't what she thought]

Erm, sorry, I think we're talking about different things. The book you had wasn't... magical, was it?

[He chuckles softly. Self-consciously.]

It transported me from hell. From a place of anger and rage into a place of calm and peace. I might even say, it granted me freedom. Which is pretty magical, if you ask me.

I can understand the sentiment, but I'm talking about a book that's actual magic. When you open it, it transcribes noises so that anyone carrying one can hear what you're saying or doing. You could also write in it and other people with the book can read it.

I wish I could demonstrate, but the copy I have with me lost its enchantment when we all got new ones.

[Now he looks confused.]

What? Is that some new technology that I don't know about yet? Because, well, I've been... away... for a while. I'm just now getting used to MySpace, Facebook, Faceplace, whatever it's called. I mean, those are used to tell people where you are all the time, people can learn what you're doing or what you're saying.

[It's not that he doesn't believe in magic, it's just that technology is magical enough.]

It's magic. I'm probably not explaining it very well.

Anyway, my name is Hermione. Have you just arrived on the boats?

Her-my-nee

[Sorry, she's British and said it kind of fast. He'll get it.]

Just? Well, no. Been here a couple of days. But, magic. You said magic. So, like witches with pointy hats and wands and broomsticks?

[He's seen some pretty weird stuff in the past couple of days, but not magic yet.]

[she dealt with this before, thankfully] Her-my-oh-nee.

Yes, though we only wear the pointy hats on special occasions.

[charliecrews]

[He says it right this time. And a little faster, more like a name and less like a strange word.]

Hermione.

Well, yeah. I mean, you wouldn't want to wear them all the time or people might get nervous.

[He now thinks she's pulling his leg. Which is a nice change compared to being behind the times. like he usually is.]

They would just think us odd. Pointed hats are very low on the list if strange things they have seen us wear in public.

[charliecrews]

Do I want to know what else you wear in public that's strange?

[courageous_wit]

Many in the wizarding community have trouble blending in with the non-magical, unless of course they were born into such a community to begin with. My friend's father still has problems at times, and I've been helping him for years.

[she blames it on over-enthusiasm]

[charliecrews]

I was more trying to ask how I would know. I'm from LA, there are a lot of people there who don't know how to blend-in.

I'm afraid I only have experience with European wizards. It's possible that American wizards have an easier time going unnoticed.

[charliecrews]

Maybe. I don't know that I've ever met any witches or wizards. Except on Halloween, but then I don't think they were real.

Now you have met at least one real witch. [take that, Statute of Secrecy. Though she's fairly sure it doesn't matter here. Rainbow bridges and everything]

Too many questions and too few answers but look at the bright side, you missed the snow. [Luna sneezes after she speaks, blame the tail end of a cold.]
