Welcome to Medietas! Have an interest in joining the game? Maybe you have an old muse that you want to dust off? Or, maybe you're just looking for a place to voice test a brand new character and would like to do so in our little island setting among friends? Well, whatever the reason, this is where you can do that!

You all know what to do but if you don’t, just follow the instructions and HAVE FUN!

How To Play:

→ Comment with the character you’d like to test drive. Don’t forget to add their name and canon in the subject line.
→ Choose a scenario, or start your own!
→ Tag around!

Possible Scenarios:

1. New Arrival: You've just arrived on the island of Medietas, in the city of Aerilon, via a floating boat with people you may or may not know. Of course, you can't help wondering what the heck is going on, or how you even got on the boat in the first place. But as soon as the vessel docks you are greeted by some lovely locals who offer you a map and a communications device before leaving you to your own. You probably have questions and there seems to be a number of people there already who may or may not have those answers. Talk to them! Or, get on the network and introduce yourself!

2. Getting Settled: So, now that you've arrived and wandered around the starter home you've been given, it's time to check out the rest of the islands. There's a market on Aerilon that is full of treasures. Or, you can check out Chapter Six bookstore. Perhaps you wander over to the Mean Princess facility on Mulciber. There is so much to see!

3. Event: Teams are being put together to venture out deep into the islands of Eurus and Mulciber to track and destroy a vicious beast who has been the reason for the disappearances of several island locals. Please help stop the creature before anyone else goes missing!

4. Wild Card: Got something else in mind and want to create your own scenario? Go for it!
forgottenthief: (Yeah well I'm sure you thought that)

His own accent was foreign. Whatever she considered to be foreign was his accent. Thom kept his expression politely pleasant, hands still behind his back though his shadow appeared to be uninterested in following along what its human was doing as it stretched off to the right - in completely the wrong direction for the light, its arms crossed and staring up into the sky. As much as a shadow on the ground could be said to do such a thing.

"There are. Perhaps," he allowed, "But there are none here. At least none of Earth. If they were hiding, I would know."

For he knew secrets. And things that hid were secrets.

She narrowed her eyes at the man, glaring for all she was worth. This wasn't Earth, then? And the only planewalkers she knew were the druids, and only one of them would dare be bold--or brash--enough to play a prank like this.

"You're a friend of Atticus O'Sullivan, then? Please tell him I will not stand for these games." A brief pause, then, "Shall I sew your shadow back on for you? It seems to be misbehaving."

"Friends?" the Thief repeated the word back, mentally tasting the name. Ah. He knew the man, yes. A man with far too many secrets than should be healthy for a normal person. The Thief in the Night liked him. "No we're not friends, though I know of him and he knows of me though he doesn't realize it."

At her comment he glanced down at his shadow that shrank sheepishly back to a proper shadow position, though still a little bit too much to the right. "Ah. No, though that is kind of you to offer. I haven't quite figured out shadows."

A strange thing to say about him, but it was still information she hadn't had earlier. What exactly it was that she was supposed to do with it was another matter entirely. She wasn't sure she liked the man in front of her, though. He seemed far too...secretive. Not that she didn't have her own secrets to protect, but she very much preferred if other people were easier to read.

"They're quite simple, actually, if you take the time to think about it."
forgottenthief: (Yeah well I'm sure you thought that)

[personal profile] forgottenthief 2016-09-12 02:23 am (UTC)(link)
The number of people who liked actually liked Thom could be counted with less than two hands. There were for more people who were ambivalent about him. And even more who downright hated him.

Not that he particularly cared one way or the other. Except when his Fate was mad at him and wouldn't allow him in the bed.

"I was a shadow before I was a man so, it's a little bit odd to have one. Though I'm better at having a shadow than my father is. He doesn't have one at all."
hellwhip: (Innocent)

[personal profile] hellwhip 2016-09-12 02:39 am (UTC)(link)
That earned a raised eyebrow, though she kept the questions to herself for the moment. She was certainly happy to take information from free, though she knew that most often there was a price, even if she didn't know what it was immediately.

"How interesting." She'd never heard of anything like that before. Granted, she hadn't been around as long as that druid, but long enough to know a thing or two. "And it's beneath you to learn, I suppose."
forgottenthief: (head scratching well)

[personal profile] forgottenthief 2016-09-12 02:53 am (UTC)(link)
Hidden information was rather useless for Thom. If someone didn't want him to know it, he knew it. If they did want him to know it, they'd tell him. As for himself, there was little people could do about him and he wouldn't say the important things. Perhaps just enough to tease.

He scratched his head, still looking down at his sheepish shadow. "I suppose it's more like it doesn't really matter. How many people are going to say to someone 'did you see what that man's shadow did' without expecting to be made a fool of? I have a shadow and that's a feat in and of itself."
hellwhip: (Enchanted)

[personal profile] hellwhip 2016-09-12 03:12 am (UTC)(link)
"A few I can think of." Perhaps that was cheating a little, though. Most of the people she knew were more involved in the supernatural than the average person. And clearly she had noticed herself.

"No desire to blend in? It does make life far simpler."
forgottenthief: (Stolen grin)

[personal profile] forgottenthief 2016-09-12 03:42 am (UTC)(link)
"There's always a few for everything," he agreed amicability. No reason not to; it's be rather silly to deny the obvious. Or foolish and Thom was most certainly not the Fool. He acknowledged that Wednesday existed for starters.

"People tend to forget I'm there. Those with certain abilities can see and remember me, of course."
hellwhip: (Charm)

[personal profile] hellwhip 2016-09-12 03:50 am (UTC)(link)
"I suppose so." It's the truth, after all, and far be it from her to deny it. So long as it suited her not to. There are always times when it's far more beneficial to lie.

Still, he look turns entirely innocent and naive, although anyone who knew her would know just how much of an act that was. "Then I'm going to forget you? When our conversation has been so interesting?"
forgottenthief: (Stolen grin)

[personal profile] forgottenthief 2016-09-12 03:59 am (UTC)(link)
"No rule applies to everyone equally." Truth was variable to a lot of people, so shades of a person's view of the world.

The look amused him but he managed to keep a straight face, mostly. "No. You aren't going to forget me. You're just going to wish you could."
hellwhip: (Youth)

[personal profile] hellwhip 2016-09-12 04:19 am (UTC)(link)
"I'm certain there are people who would be eager to disagree with that." The world wasn't fair, of course, but not enough people seemed to understand that nowadays. At least not until they were negatively affected.

"Oh? And why should I wish to?"
forgottenthief: (Laughing in shadows)

[personal profile] forgottenthief 2016-09-12 04:29 am (UTC)(link)
"There are always those sorts." He laughed softly as he proved his point.

At her question he allowed himself to smile and look her directly in the eyes. Really, looked at her, his shadow creeping over her. The feeling of someone who knew every secret Malina had. That he could pick apart every deep dark thing she kept hidden away from the light of day, things she wouldn't want anyone to know ever, but he knew. Oh knew... knew these things and could tell them to anyone at any point he felt like it to any random stranger, to her enemies and lay them out like throwing seeds for pigeons in the park.

"It's part of what I am," he said.
hellwhip: (Magic)

[personal profile] hellwhip 2016-09-12 04:40 am (UTC)(link)
To her own credit, she didn't look away, staring right back at him defiantly. She could feel everything he was doing, every secret she had showing itself, but she kept her composure, her posture arrogant and confident, even if she didn't exactly feel like that. She could still pretend that she was and she was very good at that.

"And what is it that you are?"
forgottenthief: (Stolen grin)

[personal profile] forgottenthief 2016-09-12 05:06 am (UTC)(link)
Which was an impressive feat. Very few people could look him in the eye for so long, which he wouldn't say made him respect her, but find her interesting enough to possibly bother more down the line. There was nothing a fear loved more than trying to incite it in a person.

"The Thief in the Night; I'm that someone that knows your secrets when you wonder if someone will find out about them."
hellwhip: (Disapproval)

[personal profile] hellwhip 2016-09-12 05:22 am (UTC)(link)
"I don't." Which was actually the truth. She had never worried about people finding out her secrets until this very moment. She'd lived long enough to learn how to protect them and she had never revealed any of them unless she had wanted to.

Now, though...now she was worried.

"What do you intend to do with my secrets, then?"
forgottenthief: (plesant day)

[personal profile] forgottenthief 2016-09-12 02:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Which will make her a Project for Thom. Nothing quite like making someone who was never afraid of you afraid of you.

He kept the pleasant smile on his face. "Intend... hum... we'll have to see. Probably nothing. But, I suppose back to the original matter at hand, we're no longer on Earth and the Ways to return are blocked, which is quite the impressive feat. There appears to be only a one way in doorway, so to speak."
hellwhip: (Default)

[personal profile] hellwhip 2016-09-12 03:30 pm (UTC)(link)
"I suggest you speak to that druid you aren't friends with, then. He's wily enough to find or build another one." And selfless enough to escort people back through it without so much as a favor in return. So perhaps a better person than she was, but she could still use him to her advantage. Assuming he ever showed himself. It would be impossible to find him, otherwise.
forgottenthief: (Bland distain)

[personal profile] forgottenthief 2016-09-12 04:30 pm (UTC)(link)
"If I can't find my way out of such a place, there's no way a mortal can; even one as wily as your druid." He tilted his head a little.

The likelihood of him just going off by himself and leaving the people here to suffer was fairly high. He was a fear and people here were full of all sorts of interesting fears. Though more of the Wanderer's and Blind King's fears than his own. This was the unknown and they were afraid of dying without anyone at home finding out. Personally he had no ties to these people beyond their secrets and so had no reason to bring them with him - if they could survive the trek through his Ways in the first place.

"Not that he's here."
hellwhip: (Disapproval)

[personal profile] hellwhip 2016-09-12 04:42 pm (UTC)(link)
"Atticus O'Sullivan ceased to be mortal long ago." Long before she or her parents or her parents' parents had been born. And compared to the rest of the ordinary humanity around her, that was saying quite a bit.

And yet, as much as she only tolerated his presence, short of his apprentice, he was perhaps the closest thing she had to a friend outside her circle. Granuaile was much more agreeable, but Atticus had, at least, always kept his promises with her. He may behave like a child, but his word was good, and there wasn't enough of that lately.

"Damn. He wouldn't be, either. Was he ever actually here?"
forgottenthief: (Laughing in shadows)

[personal profile] forgottenthief 2016-09-12 04:49 pm (UTC)(link)
"He's human, isn't he?" A sharp smile. "A long-lived human is still human. And humans can die. Gods can die. All eventually bow to the Blind King as he passes by them. And apparently your druid friend fears him more than most."

People can out run and work their ways out of many things but in the end they all died. People like Atticus might try and avoid death for as long as possible, but in the end they still all died.

"As far as I know, no he hasn't been here. He might be in the future, but as of now, no."
hellwhip: (Lure)

[personal profile] hellwhip 2016-09-12 05:25 pm (UTC)(link)
She simply couldn't help it--she laughed right in the man's face. Just the thought that someone had characterized that druid so perfectly without having even met the man was too amusing for her to resist. She almost wanted to dare him to say that to Atticus himself just took watch him react, but in all likelihood he'd simply shrug it off like he did everything else.

"No? How disappointing. And here I was hoping to talk with him again."
forgottenthief: (earnst hey)

[personal profile] forgottenthief 2016-09-12 05:43 pm (UTC)(link)
The laughter didn't seem to bother him. He stood quietly, hands still behind his back as his shadow wandered off again, bored with the discussion. It wouldn't take much to get Thom to say that to the druid's face. He'd do it without provocation. Yes, he might shrug it off, but it would still gnaw at him.

"Hm... I do believe having a familiar face to needle is quite comforting."
hellwhip: (Innocent)

[personal profile] hellwhip 2016-09-12 05:58 pm (UTC)(link)
"Why, I would never." Except that she would. Without hesitation. Really, though, most of the time he deserved it and after being quite exhausted taking the high ground and behaving like the adult she was, she had earned some time postering him. Even if he wasn't here right now.

"I merely intended to thank him. It truly was quite masterful how he managed to keep our bargain and I am suitably impressed."
forgottenthief: (oh yeah)

[personal profile] forgottenthief 2016-09-12 06:20 pm (UTC)(link)
"Of course you wouldn't. But that wouldn't stop me."

And there was nothing like not taking the high ground. The Thief knew all about that sort of thing having to live with the Fool over the many long years.

"Your bargain?" he asked curiously. One of the annoying things about being the knower of secrets was that if it wasn't a secret he didn't know about it unless someone told him about it.
