Welcome to Medietas! Have an interest in joining the game? Maybe you have an old muse that you want to dust off? Or, maybe you're just looking for a place to voice test a brand new character and would like to do so in our little island setting among friends? Well, whatever the reason, this is where you can do that!
You all know what to do but if you don’t, just follow the instructions and HAVE FUN!
How To Play:
→ Comment with the character you’d like to test drive. Don’t forget to add their name and canon in the subject line.
→ Choose a scenario, or start your own!
→ Tag around!
Possible Scenarios:
1. New Arrival: You've just arrived on the island of Medietas, in the city of Aerilon, via a floating boat with people you may or may not know. Of course, you can't help wondering what the heck is going on, or how you even got on the boat in the first place. But as soon as the vessel docks you are greeted by some lovely locals who offer you a map and a communications device before leaving you to your own. You probably have questions and there seems to be a number of people there already who may or may not have those answers. Talk to them! Or, get on the network and introduce yourself!
2. Getting Settled: So, now that you've arrived and wandered around the starter home you've been given, it's time to check out the rest of the islands. There's a market on Aerilon that is full of treasures. Or, you can check out Chapter Six bookstore. Perhaps you wander over to the Mean Princess facility on Mulciber. There is so much to see!
3. Event: Teams are being put together to venture out deep into the islands of Eurus and Mulciber to track and destroy a vicious beast who has been the reason for the disappearances of several island locals. Please help stop the creature before anyone else goes missing!
4. Wild Card: Got something else in mind and want to create your own scenario? Go for it!
Etain Tur-Mukan | Star Wars EU
"Dar!" Etain sinks into blackness after calling her husband's name, the pain from her wound fading away as she lost consciousness. Almost immediately followed by waking up... somewhere. She sits up, blinking at her surroundings. To say she wasn't expecting this was putting it mildly. She should be one with the Force. She was fairly certain it didn't involve being in the hold of what appeared to be a wooden vessel. Who built ships out of wood anymore?
She looks down at herself as if to confirm her injury, only to find no sign of it, her clothing pristine and not blackened where the lightsaber cut through her. She closes her eyes and takes steady breaths as she tried to work her way through this. She couldn't possibly be alive. Maybe the Jedi were wrong about what happens after life. After all, people don't tend to come back from the dead to relay their findings.
She opens her eyes again, calm. If this was the afterlife, so be it. She'll miss Darman and Kad'ika, of course, but better they weren't here. Not yet; not until they've lived full lives. She gets up to head up the stairs to find out what exactly was going on, finding herself on the deck of a ship heading towards--were those islands floating in the air?
Etain walks over to the bow of the ship, resting her hands on the railing to look down at the water far below them before watching the island the ship seemed to be heading for grow larger. As they approach, she wracks her brain for what she knows of assorted species' belief systems. Having an idea of what to expect would be nice.
Once it docks, she waits for others to exit the ship first, taking her place behind someone larger than her, allowing her to avoid notice. She would like to know what she was walking into before being spotted by the people greeting the other new arrivals.
2. Settling in
::When the video turns on, it shows a young woman with green eyes and brown hair that has streaks of other colors mixed in. When she's sure it's recording, she folds her hands in her lap to address the camera formally.::
Good afternoon. My name is Etain Tur-Mukan, formally a Knight of the Jedi Order. I... resigned on the day I arrived here. At this point, I've been here for three days and have gotten the basic gist of things from the locals' point of view.
::She takes a deep breath before continuing.::
What I'd like to know are the impressions of those brought here before I was. The things newcomers wouldn't be told at the docks. Limitations on what we can do, for example.
::She smiles crookedly after a moment, dropping the formal air.::
Besides the lack of ability to go home. I've worked that one out. Any information you're willing to share, even if not immediately useful, would be welcome.
4. Wildcard
Neither of the above do anything for you? Whatever works for you goes here!

He's seen people wearing stranger things in his opinion, and if they thought it was comfortable wearing whatever it is they wear, then they can work on accepting that this is comfortable for him. ...well okay, maybe not necessarily comfortable, but it's practically a second skin to him for how used to it he is.
It's become something of a routine to make sure he passes by the docks on his way to Mulciber's police station to check in, just in case someone familiar might show up. The commando doesn't allow himself to dwell on the thoughts of how any of his pod brothers would react being in a place like this; it's been long enough that he doesn't care so long as he's with them. But together, they'd get through anything. That's how they were taught, that's what they know.

After a moment, she shoves the panic down before taking a deep breath and using the Force to help project her voice. "Su'cuy, Scorch! Din'kartay?"
Maybe he knows what's going on. Her certainty this was some sort of strange afterlife was starting to develop cracks. Although she's not going to take for granted that he's alright until he's told her as much.
Etain moves to the side to make it easier to find her, scanning the docks for Scorch.
no subject
The commando spins around, scanning the crowds until both his eyes and his HUD pick out the familiar face. "General...?" She's a ways off, but not for long as he begins to move towards her. It's amazing how quickly a way is opened to him, given people usually clear out pretty fast when someone in armor moves towards you.
Last he'd heard from here was on Kashyyyk. Now that he thinks about it, he has no idea what had happened to her after they'd all gone to take down the Separatist's ship. After they'd lost Sev...
Swallowing, there's but a slight falter in his steps as he approaches the last few meters between them. He wants to compose himself before speaking up again, although belatedly he wonders that she'd probably pick up anything through the Force.
"Fancy meeting you here, General. The long and short of things is that we're basically kidnapped and have no idea who, how or why."
no subject
Wait. Never mind that. "You're okay though, otherwise? Nothing happened?" she asks before her mouth tightens, remembering Kashyyyk. "Nothing more than what already did, I should say."
no subject
"...not just me, sir," Scorch finally replies, bluntly skimming over the latter questions. Is he okay? Would he ever be? "People from other worlds, other galaxies. There are even a couple of Jedi here that aren't from the same time as us."
no subject
Oh yes, she's caught the lack of response about if Scorch was all right. She can press him on it later.
no subject
He turns, expecting her to follow along as he leads the way through the crowds.
no subject
"Is this--is this paper?" Etain asks a little incredulously after pocketing the whatever and taking a closer look at the map, still following him. She was rapidly getting the feeling this place was far behind in technological development, considering they should have had at least flimiplast.
no subject
"Whoever snatched us was sure thoughtful at least. Everyone's assigned a room and a certain amount of the local currency to help you settle into things. There's also some kind of network, accessible by the devices we're provided. Kinda look like mini-datapads, but they're used as comm units."
Scorch glances over his shoulder at her to see what she's doing. "We're on the central island- Aerilon. There's energy bridges between the others- probably the most technical thing I've seen out here. Although I haven't worked out how it gets you from one island to another in such a short time despite looking like you'd have to walk for miles."
no subject
Then Scorch keeps talking and her threatening headache starts to get worse. "Those bridges aren't going to mysteriously break down one day, are they?"
no subject
"Who can say? If you're going to ask that you may as well ask what happens when these islands stop floating." Because he sure doesn't know the answer to that one either. Well, except for the obvious. He's fairly certain gravity otherwise functions the same here.
no subject
It's not really something she thought she'd be asking. Of course, she hadn't thought she'd needed to worry about the ground quite literally falling out from under her.

4.
[Because that apparently is what Amy's stuck on first.]
It's not so bad here, it depends on what you can do and do with it.
I think you meant to say two.
It happened back home a few hours before I arrived. I only brought it up to say that I was a Jedi, but now I'm not.
I'm a little at a loss as to what to do. A lot of the things I was taught isn't really of use here, barring something attacking.
::Not that she wants something to show up to ruin peoples' day.::
I did! fail for me.
Wel things do tend to happen around here. There were bunnies.
[There's a pause then she realizes she needs to explain that one.]
They were not nice fluffy bunnies. They attacked.
no subject
::Etain gives her a puzzled look. She could figure out from context that they were apparently supposed to be something harmless, but other than that, she has no idea what they are.::
I'm sorry, I have no idea what planet they're from. Or galaxy.
no subject
They're small. Usually.
[Amy tries to make the sort of size they should be with her hands.]
Cute, fluffy things that people seem to keep as pets. They can also be eaten. But not the pet ones. That's... I know them from Earth.
no subject
I see. You said usually. These were larger than they should have been, I take it?
no subject

::She shakes her head.::
It sounds like someone did some sort of interesting genetic mods to make them that way.
::That is not 'interesting' in a good way.::
no subject
Got bored maybe. People have been going missing too. And we have a fair number of non-humans too.
no subject
Someone I know from home warned me about people going missing and to be careful. He must have arrived after the... bunnies, though.
I'm used to being around many different species, so seeing people who aren't human wouldn't be strange in the least. In fact, I find the lack of many non-human species I'm used to seeing most places I go odd.
no subject
Where do you come from? If it's okay to ask.
[It was nice to find someone who seemed so tolerant of non-humans.]
