Welcome to Medietas and our first ever Test Drive Meme! As we approach the grand opening of the game on April 1st, we thought we’d kick things off with a little something that will get you all interacting in the new setting! And it’s one less sample you have to worry about on your application if you’re considering our little game here.

You all know what to do but if you don’t, just follow the instructions and HAVE FUN!

How To Play:

→ Comment with the character you’d like to test drive. Don’t forget to add their name and canon in the subject line.
→ Choose a scenario, or start your own!

Possible Scenarios:

1. New Arrival: You’ve just arrived on the island of Medietas, in the city of Aerilon via a … floating boat, with people you may or may not know? You can’t help but ponder what’s going on here, but the vessel seems to be approaching a harbor and when it docks, some lovely locals are standing in wait to greet you. After that they hand you a map and communications device and invite you to find your accommodations and explore.

2. Party, party!: On the evening of your first night in the city, a party is being thrown on Aerilon in honor of your arrival. Eat, mingle, dance, meet the other new arrivals! The locals put on quite the celebration!

3. Go Exploring!: There's plenty of places to explore, be it in your designated housing area, or on one of the adjoining community islands! Hike the mountains in Eurus. Sit on the beaches of Imber with a cocktail, or go swimming. Adventure in the forests of Mundus. Be careful though! Every area has it's dangers.

4. The Bells Are Ringing!: And that means a islands wide warning that something dangerous is approaching! But where the heck are they coming from? Nevermind that, the caretakers rally the children and the senior citizens while Scykal, Imber's local sea monster, emerges from the large body of water on the island.  Interesting.  He hasn't been spotted in a long time.  Help the locals defeat him!

Sansa blushes a little. "He never bedded me, Lyanna. He protected me from his family. Lord Tywin ordered him to give me an heir and he simply refused. There is more to him than there seems, I assure you of that."

Two and a half years ago.

[She watched him for some kind of reaction. It was difficult, given the revelations he'd made, really. Admitting that she'd been gone, that she'd made a life, that she'd had lovers... had fallen in love, even. Especially since she knew that, if she'd been missing back home, he would have searched for her. It made her heart ache a little, but she was also glad that he'd been spared the trauma of having to deal with her being missing.]

"Then he is a man deserving of a gentle, beautiful woman. It seems as though he can truly cherish her, and I would hope my niece find such a man." She said, grinning at her. "What happened that separated you?"

[ Zoe smiled once again, shaking her head in the negative. ]

Actually, I'm not. I'm sure we could find something if you are game for exploring?

[Oliver didn't quite know what to do with that and he felt staggered, felt like he had to sit down and find his center again. For so long, he had depended on the team and on the stability it gave him. Now it felt like the world had been yanked from under his feet all over again.]

It couldn't have been that long. I just saw you, Felicity. That's not...possible?

"Joffrey's death. I left King's Landing and went to the Eyrie and Gods only know what happened to Tyrion. There was to be a trial by combat but...he escaped, somehow. I do not know if he lives," Sansa admits.

And appearing on an island in the middle of nowhere with people we've never seen before? [She motioned to the people around them and looked up at him.] A lot of things are possible, Oliver.

[Glancing around again, she might have appeared to be searching for someone, but looked back at Oliver fairly quickly.] It happened before, but you didn't stay. Clearly, you went back home. Made a life with the me that was there.

She did recognize the slightly Southern accent, just like he might pick up on the hint of a Texan accent clinging to her words as she thanked him for briefly relinquishing his map into her care. She took note of how the edges were already starting to show signs of use and she wondered how much he found himself staring at it while walking around.

"I'm trying to remember exactly how to get back to the housing area." She admitted with a sheepish smile as she checked the map, nodded and offered to return it back to him. "You wouldn't think I could lose my way but somehow I managed it. I think it's all the stairs, you know?"

"Not that I know of. I believe he escaped. As to where he went, all I know are rumors that it was across the sea."

Podrick's face had fallen and he slumped some, but he spoke on. "S'why I went with Lady Sir Brienne, you see, to find you. Because it was the only thing I could do for him." Then he grinned a little. "Knowing him, he'll come back riding a dragon, and with an army at his back."

Zoe had been in Doctor mode, at least some of the time she had been on the island. It was not unusual to find her by the pier, or on the boat, helping people off.

New Arrival:

This sure wasn’t the Waverider. Or 1950’s Oregon, either. Unless they’d done something SERIOUSLY damaging to the timeline. And it took affect really damn quick. Sara was pretty sure it wouldn’t turn the state into islands, though. So she took the map, and the communications device she was given and set off. She needed to do some recon, see what more she could learn. See if anyone else from her team was here.

Leonard.

PARTY!:

A party for their arrival. Sara was pretty sure this was the first time her arrival had been celebrated ANYWHERE since joining the League. Except maybe after getting her soul stuffed back in her body. She was pretty sure there were some folks that had been pretty damn happy about that.

She might as well enjoy herself since she was here. Finishing off her glass of champagne and setting it aside, Sara made her way out into the crowd, moving gracefully in time to the music as she started to dance.


Big fuck-off sea creature:

“Oh you’ve got to be kidding me,” Sara muttered, staring up... and up... and UP, at the creature bursting out from the surface of the water. She was used to weird, but this was a whole new level of weirdness.

But that thing, whatever it was, was going to hurt people. So Sara took a breath, drew her batons and rushed forward.

Welllllllll, I just thought tropical, exploring is a must, but no tropical drinks should be a crime against all tropical islands. Although I've not seen any that had floating boats to ferry people around.

[It felt strange that Felicity was talking about their life as if she was someone who observed it instead of lived it but he guessed that in this context, that was accurate. Oliver didn't quite know what to do with that, not when so much of his life was tied up with hers and would be, even if they were no longer together.]

It was a good life, Felicity. I had...have no regrets about the life we had together. I only regret that it ended.

Sansa smiles a bit at that. "He is crafty, I cannot imagine he would die so easily. Still, I worry for him. He needs someone to look after him and if I am not there and you are not there, he has no one, does he?"

She sighs and offers her arm to Podrick. "We should find somewhere to rest, I think. I'm glad you're here. I need an escort in such a strange place."

[It hurt more than it should, knowing that he'd made a life, a good life, with someone who wasn't actually her. Yes, it was her, but not the her that was standing in front of him now, wondering if things would have been different for them if she'd been there herself.

She was getting a headache.

It was also clear that it, whatever it was that had happened between them, bothered Oliver a lot and that bothered Felicity. Sure, Oliver was a bonehead who rushed headlong into situations and didn't listen to the people around him and thought he had to do everything on his own forever and ever... but what could he have done that was so bad that she would have ended their engagement? The look on his face caused her pain and it showed when she gave him a tender smile and reached to put her hand on his arm.]

Whatever it was that ended it? I know us. Or-- [She shook her head and waved her head.] The us that's there. You know what I mean. [Her smile grew and her expression changed to something earnest.] We don't let things keep us apart. Not for work, not with the Arrow, and not like that. I think we'll be okay.

[That comforted him and seeing her smile, feeling her touch him like that, it gave Oliver a little hope that things might work out. Maybe they wouldn't be together, necessarily, but he and Felicity would still be a part of one another's lives and that was important.]

I think so, too. I hope so. Right now, though, we need to figure this place out and figure out how to get back home. We're going to have to work together for that.

[grimmfaced]

Don't be sorry. [He murmurs softly, leaning down to kiss her lightly. It's a good way of distracting her when she is worried.] I know it's not exactly ideal but we'll be okay.

[Then he straightens with an amused look, looking more pleased than not with the statement. Now he eases his arms around her, drawing her into an embrace as he smiles a little more.] That's fine by me. I wasn't really inclined to share you either.

[grimmfaced]

"Hey, are you okay?" Nick came to a stop beside the somewhat dazed looking woman who was staring at their surroundings like she didn't know what to make of them. He was pretty sure he had looked like that even a little bit just a short while before. At the same time, he was sort of used to something like this happening and so maybe it hadn't been as bad of a shock for him.

Now he was watching the boats to see if he could spot any other familiar faces getting off but, every once in awhile, he found himself stopping and checking on the newcomers. That instinctive urge to help was hard to get rid of. As if he would ever get rid of it.

"Jacob's brother?" she asked, turning to look at her sister with a sharp, suddenly interest. It was a stark contrast to the usual dreamy expression she affected, the one that shielded her from harm. The one that singled her out as nothing more than 'just another Malkavian.'

She could snap from face to face in an instant.

And when she heard a biblical name, she knew it was time to pay attention.

"Tell me."

"You're not going to like this, poppet.

[As long as he knew that she'd never willingly ditch him or his effort to save Star(ling) City, Felicity knew their basic relationship would stay intact... more or less. It was when he mentioned that they were going to have to work together to get back home that she was mentally dragged back into an annoying present that required more disclosure.]

Yes. [Exhale. Inhale. Exhale.] There's more. That you should know, I mean.

[Actually, she was fairly certain that she was going to either babble herself into insanity or pass out.]

[Distracting, calming her down, arousing... it does a number of things to her when he kisses her and the first two are good in a situation like this while all the others are a bad thing. Especially when she's not entirely sure what comes next.]

I'm glad to hear it. [Closing her eyes for a moment, she takes a deep breath and steadies herself before opening them again and taking in the crowds.] Do you have any idea where we go from here?

[Oliver cocked his head a little, inviting her to tell him exactly what more entailed. He had been painfully honest with Felicity about where they'd been the last time he saw her and (he hoped) just how much he still loved her and he was curious what there was additional that he needed to know. Was it about her time on the other island? The one he hadn't known about or noticed her missing during that time?]

Yeah? What is it, Felicity?

I'm afraid I've left my white suit at home.

[For everything that the two of them have been through, and have shared, it's extremely difficult for Felicity to find her voice. Moreover, she's afraid that if she starts talking, she's going to make excuses for the things she's done, even though she had no choice for a goodly number of them - except this. Not so much a choice, but careless to the extreme that she's never, ever been and now--]

There's someone. Nick. His name's Nick. We were... [She glances back over her shoulder again toward the crowd and the dock and then back at Oliver.] ... supposed to be on our back home. Starling City. We ended up here, instead. Two and a half years on that island, and believe me, the irony is not lost on me as I say that to you, and I was finally going home. Now this.
