Welcome to Medietas! Are you interested in joining the game? Do you have an old muse you want to dust off? Are you looking for a place to voice test a brand new character and would like to do so in our little island setting? Well, you've come to the right place!
You all know what to do but if you don’t, just follow the instructions and HAVE FUN!
How To Play:
→ Comment with the character you’d like to test drive. Don’t forget to add their name and canon in the subject line.
→ Choose a scenario, or start your own!
→ Tag around!
Possible Scenarios:
1. New Arrival: You have just arrived on the island of Medietas, in the city of Aerilon via a floating boat with people you may or may not know. Of course, you can't help wondering what the heck is going on here, or how you even got on the boat in the first place. But as soon as the vessel docks you are greeted by some lovely locals who offer you a map and a communications device before leaving you to your own. You probably have questions and there seems to be a number of people there already who may or may not have those answers. Talk to them! Or, get on the network and introduce yourself!
2. Getting Settled: So, you've arrived, but now there's five islands you should get yourself acquainted with. Meet your starter home neighbors! Start your new job! Check out the market on Aerilon!
3. Event: The Faire's in town! Feast, socialize, dance, play games! There's plenty to do and the grounds on Mundus are packed with festivities for all to enjoy.
4. Wild Card: Got something else in mind and want to create your own scenario? Go for it!

"You are kind to offer, Remylebeau," she thanks him, the muscles in her left leg working effortlessly to push her into a standing position. He still has her ankle, but she won't ask for it back, because he'll surely let it go to stand. A gentle breeze ruffles her chiton and shifts the heavy waves of her dark red hair. The nymph makes no attempt to control either, her hands still holding the strange items she'd been given. "Are there oak trees here, do you think?"
She might as well make the best of the situation until she understands it a little better.
no subject
He smiled. "And please, just call me Remy."
he thought about her question, then smiled. "I don't know, but I know where to look. Care to take a walk? Or will your leg allow it?"
no subject
"Remy..." She tries out the shortened version of the name he'd told her. It doesn't sound Greek at all. "I can walk perfectly well, I think. Are you a traveller? I cannot recall hearing a name such as yours, and I have met a great many people."
That number is relative, of course.
no subject
"When we get somewhere to sit, I can show you how to use the device, and how to read the map, in a basic way."
He wanted to help her.
no subject
"What is the device and the map, if you please?"
Honestly, she has no clue. None. In her world, the sun is pulled across the sky in a chariot.
no subject
"The device is designed to let you communicate with others over long distances, like a magic prayer spell. It allows you to talk to people who are not where you are."
no subject
Her smile is sweetly bashful as she listens to his explanation. His Greek is a little odd to her ear, so she is taking extra care to pay attention.
"Have you been in this stopping place a long time, that you know all this?" she asks.
no subject
Ahead, a park loomed, and he smiled. "This is a park, where men meet nature." The trees were plentiful, and there were benches as well, and Remy led her right into the midst of it.
no subject
It's all very strange to her, and she keeps close to his side, trusting his knowledge - until he mentions the park. Then her laughter, bright and musical, bubbling like a sun warmed stream over rocks, rings out.
"Oh, no! Men meet nature wherever she is, and most often in the forests of my grove sisters."
no subject
"True, but here, men create areas of nature within cities, and choose to meet nature, instead of just encountering it wherever they go."
no subject
Returning her attention to him, though her smile has dimmed somewhat with concern, she nods in response.
"I am used to the forest," she confides. "I am its daughter, and I so rarely enter the buildings of men."
Though where men enter... well. That's another story, and probably not one for here, given she's just died on her wedding day.
no subject
He hoped anyway. He would have to keep an eye on her.
no subject
"May I really?" she asks eagerly, and begins to tug him along instead of being pulled by him. "Are there oaks?"
no subject
"You may, and yes, there are." He laughed and jogged ahead with her, and led her faster across the park, and into the small woods area. And there, after a few minutes, was a large oak. "How's that one, chere'"
no subject
Dropping to her knees, the dryade reaches a hand out beseechingly, asking the oak without words if his dryade is here.
A soft gasp falls from her lips when she learns she is not, and never has been. Still with her hand outstretched, she looks up at her guide.
"He says there are no dryades here," she whispers. "Is that so?"
no subject
"There are other islands, too. We could check on those too, if you want."
no subject
"This oak has grown with no one to love him," she explains, wistfulness in her tone. "I would like to share mine with him for a moment. He should know a dryade's care, if only for a brief time."
Hazel eyes are asking if Remylebeau won't mind halting their exploration for the dryade to climb the oak and imbue it with a tiny bit of her life's force. If she has any. Otherwise, she just wants to be in a tree for a minute.
no subject
He smiled at her. "And is there anything I can do to help?" She had a good heart, this girl.
no subject
"You are welcome to climb, if it takes your fancy," she tells him with a smile, then promptly sheds her chiton. Completely nude save for her long red hair and the few flowers woven into it, the dryade reaches out both hands to the trunk of the tree, then climbs it so swiftly she almost flies. Cradled by strong branches, smooth limbs wrap themselves as far around the oak as her slight body allows. The majestic tree visibly shudders in response, and one branch clearly moves to cradle her back.
Her eyes are closed, and Remylebeau might be able to hear her crooning gently to the ancient tree, singing to him of life and sunlight and rain and sweet joys.
no subject
Because.
Wow.
he slid closer, listening, watching her, and curious at what she was doing, how she was doing it. She seemed a little like a mutant.
no subject
The tree is responding to her because that is simply the way of dryades.
After a few minutes, the oak's foliage is slightly more green, its bark a richer brown, and there are several new leaves crowning her auburn hair when she jumps lightly to the ground.
Smiling sweetly up at her companion, who is standing by her discarded chiton, she says, "Thank you for waiting. He's a lovely tree, and it was my pleasure to tend to him."
Eurydice has missed trees greatly in the Underworld.
no subject
He smiled a little wryly.
"We should find the house they assigned to you, so you can have it as a home base to go out from."
no subject
But she does lean up to kiss his cheek in thanks.
"You are kind, Remy," she replies, taking the chiton and wrapping it with expert grace around her slender figure, the material both hinting at and hiding it. "I am glad to have met you. Will I stay here long, do you think?"
no subject
He shrugged and offered her a hand as he led the way away from the stately oak. "I don't know. Remy's only been here a short while. So, maybe not?"
no subject
"I do not understand all your words," she smiles up at him, slipping her hand into his. "But it is an endearment? A term for one whom you like? A friend."
As for the rest, she only nods, a little doubtful as to her own permanence. She's supposed to be dead, after all.
