Welcome to Medietas! Are you interested in joining the game? Do you have an old muse you want to dust off? Are you looking for a place to voice test a brand new character and would like to do so in our little island setting? Well, you've come to the right place!
You all know what to do but if you don’t, just follow the instructions and HAVE FUN!
How To Play:
→ Comment with the character you’d like to test drive. Don’t forget to add their name and canon in the subject line.
→ Choose a scenario, or start your own!
→ Tag around!
Possible Scenarios:
1. New Arrival: You have just arrived on the island of Medietas, in the city of Aerilon via a floating boat with people you may or may not know. Of course, you can't help wondering what the heck is going on here, or how you even got on the boat in the first place. But as soon as the vessel docks you are greeted by some lovely locals who offer you a map and a communications device before leaving you to your own. You probably have questions and there seems to be a number of people there already who may or may not have those answers. Talk to them! Or, get on the network and introduce yourself!
2. Getting Settled: So, you've arrived, but now there's five islands you should get yourself acquainted with. Meet your starter home neighbors! Start your new job! Check out the market on Aerilon!
3. Event: The Faire's in town! Feast, socialize, dance, play games! There's plenty to do and the grounds on Mundus are packed with festivities for all to enjoy.
4. Wild Card: Got something else in mind and want to create your own scenario? Go for it!

"Different realities, different magic." Giving the bike another wistful look, Alec focused on the owner instead. "Are you a warlock?" It wasn't a tactful question but better to ask than to screw up and say something stupid. "Vampires back home have bikes that run on demon energy. My parabatai stole one but he never let me ride it. I wasn't going to risk starting a war over a motorcycle."
no subject
Harry grinned. "No. I'm a wizard. Why? What are you?" Fair was fair.
He screwed up his face and shuddered. "Most vampires are dead in my world."
no subject
"I'm Nephilim. A Shadowhunter. Usually only a few types of beings can sense magic or demon energy in my world."
A few months ago, Alec would have reacted the same way about vampires but Simon had changed that. "They're not common in my world, but we have treaties with them. If we all play nice... stealing one of their bikes wouldn't count as 'playing nice'."
no subject
harry nodded, and took out a notebook, taking notes. Then he slipped it away.
"I'm kind of an odd duck, even for wizards. Ever since I fell through time, my magical senses are enhanced." He nodded again.
"In my world, vampires don't play nice, most of the time. One group decided to play very not nice and declared war on the wizards, and on me in particular. They tried to annihilate my bloodline and I turned the spell back on them."
no subject
Arching an eyebrow, he gestured at the notebook. "You aren't going to ask what Shadowhunter means?
"With vampires, it depends on what they want. If they want to keep enjoying eternity, they don't snack on the Mundanes. If they decide they don't want to follow the rules, they're dealt with." As he spoke, Alec tried to piece together what the wizard had said about vampires. Something serious had happened because of that spell. "What happened when you turned it back?"
no subject
Harry nodded, rubbing his face. "Most probably can't see it, but it might be good to have them either announce what they are, or invest in a cloaking charm."
"I figure it means you hunt things in the shadows, or, even scarier, the Shadows themselves. In which case, you're even more bad ass than you look." He nodded again. "Also, I figured you'd tell me if you wanted to."
"Your world is a lot different than my world, for sure." harry paused at the last question and closed his eyes, then opened them again sadness and confidence sitting side by side in his mind. "There are no more vampires of that kind in existence, anywhere."
no subject
"Most Warlocks can glamour their marks." Just like Alec had hidden his runes. He figured if the wizard probably could see the dark swirling symbols that covered most of Alec's body. "Part angel, part human. We hunt demons and police the things mundanes think only live in horror movies."
The question had probably been out of line but tact wasn't something Alec excelled at. "I would do the same thing." He would do almost anything for his family, for Magnus, so he can't condemn that kind of spell work. The answer also suggested an impressive amount of power. "And I'll be careful not to get you angry."
no subject
"It's not the mark. It's the demon magic. It... is hard to explain. For me, there is a power below the normal level of perception. It I use the sight, no Glamour holds." He nodded listening.
"Sounds like an interesting group. I pretty much did that myself, back home in Chicago."
Harry didn't mind answering, really. Despite his normal arrogance, the Red End reminded him every time that he had to be wary of actions that seemed good. For even they had consequences.
Harry chuckled. "I'm generally quiet and calm, but they had my daughter, and turned my girlfriend. It was personal."
no subject
"Their magic is just magic in my world. It's not demonic except it comes from a parent. The marks show that they're not completely human." Maybe those who were part demon didn't have marks in other realities. "Wings. Different color skin. Cat eyes." The last was said with a hint of wistfulness.
"Be careful of the quiet ones." It was something Izzy always teased him about... until she'd seen what happened when he had almost lost everything. "Normal restraint disappears when they take the ones you love."
no subject
Harry shrugged, and nodded, then smiled.
"This world is different, and there are new interactions of magic. If any of them come here, you should probably warn them. There are a lot of suspicious people here, as well as welcoming people here. But if they are no threat, if they truly want just to be left alone, have them find me."
He snapped his fingers and his card appeared.
no subject
"Not so different then. There's always someone who will want to do harm to those who don't fit in and those who will welcome them. I'll keep an eye out for them and try to warn them." Most of the warlocks wouldn't really need the warning. They'd been persecuted for generations.
His lips quirked in a wry smile as the card appeared. It was a spell he'd seen dozens of times and made his chest ache momentarily. It should be someone with catlike eyes wearing some blinding outfit that was making things appear out of thin air.
"No burnt sugar." Alec knew it was a weird thing to say but it was the first thing that came to mind that wouldn't sound completely pathetic.
no subject
Harry blinked. "Burnt sugar?" He canted his head to the side.
"What's that about?"
no subject
"Magic smells like burnt sugar. At least my boyfriend's always did whenever he'd - " Alec gestured vaguely as if to make something appear. "I always assumed that all magic was like that."
no subject
Harry blinked. "Hmm, mine has never tasted or smelled like anything, but i like that." He wiggled his fingers, thought, then nodded and hummed softly, speaking low and in old greek. And then the scent of chocolate chip cookies wafted from him.
"How's that?"
no subject
At least it wasn't one of the demonic languages. Alec hated those. They always made his skin crawl.
"What type of cases do you work on?"
no subject
"Mostly lost people or things. Kidnappings, monster attacks, the occasional missing Fey envoy, that sort of thing."
no subject
Which seemed to be Alec's life story: doing the things that his kin hated. "It's usually monster attacks for Shadowhunters. Occasionally lost people." The results of those missions usually gave him nightmares. "Uh - if you see the Fae, could you warn me. The ones in my world aren't exactly happy with me."
no subject
"Spells are more like... holding points for will and for power, in my world." He nodded. Yes.
"Every world has different ideas, yeah. I've been to a dozen or so, and it's weird every time."
He blinked and nodded. "I sincerely hope we don't see any. They are tricky at best on my world, and malevolent at worst."
no subject
Dozens of worlds... Alec had an idea that might be possible but the idea was still unsettling.
"The same in mine but I pissed them off so I'd appreciate a heads up... if it won't get them angry at you." He wouldn't want to drag someone else into the trouble he'd gotten tangled up in.
no subject
Harry smirked. "If they see me, they will probably already be mad at me for something. Might as well make it worth the while."
no subject
"Still don't want you involved in a war. The Seelie queen might want revenge." Maybe. The Fae had more to deal with than him but they were patient beings that might have something waiting for Alec eventually.
no subject
"I prefer not to have wars either, but no one attacks others here and hurts them if I can help it." He pointed at the other. "Not her, not you."
no subject
no subject
"Then hopefully we wont see any Fae here, and wont have to worry on it." Harry could hope!
His life rarely worked out that way, but he could hope.
"How long have you been here?"
no subject
"A couple of days. I've been exploring to get a layout of the city before figuring out what to do next. How long have you been here?"
