Possible Scenarios:

1. New Arrival: You've just arrived on the island of Medietas, in the city of Aerilon via a floating boat, with people you may or may not know. Of course, you can't help wondering what the heck is going on here, or how you even got on the boat, but the vessel seems to be approaching a harbor with what appears to be.. are those floating islands? They sure are! And as if that isn't mind boggling enough, no one seems to have answers. But you are greeted by some lovely locals who offer you a map and a communications device and send you on your way. Perhaps the questions can wait for now. There's a new place to explore!

2. Go Exploring!: There's plenty of places to see, be it in your designated housing area, or on one of the adjoining community islands! Visit the market on Aerilon. Hike the mountains in Eurus. Sit on the beaches of Imber with a cocktail. Adventure in the forests of Mundus. Be careful though! Every area has it's dangers.

3. Party, party!: On the evening of your first night in the city, a party is being thrown on Aerilon in honor of your arrival. Eat, mingle, dance, meet the other new arrivals! The locals put on quite the celebration!

4. Wild Card! Customize your own scenario to fit your needs!

He paused at the name, frowning. It wasn't the alias he chose to live here and besides, he didn't recognize this man. But the way the man looked at him suggested some familiarity. Adam's hand dropped to where his sword would be if he were wearing it. He thought a man walking around with a samurai sword was not a good first impression, but now wished he had it.

"Sorry if I startled you," he said.

There was no recognition there, just confusion and wariness. Henry took a step back then, schooling his disappointment behind an apathetic expression and a polite smile.

"Perfectly all right. My apologies ... you looked like an old friend of mine. I hope I did not startle you in kind." When in doubt, default to manners.

Something in the other man's reaction told Adam that Victor was more than just an "old friend", but he didn't push the subject. Though he was a bit curious about said "old friend".

"It's not the first time I've been called by a different name," he said truthfully. "Perhaps your friend is around here somewhere."

He smiled briefly, before he spoke simply, "Haven't we all? But I find we always come back to my first name."

A sigh. "And it would truly be a miracle if he was."

"Mine is Liam Kearney, if you're wondering." He had settled on the name after perusing baby name books for a few hours. It amused him to pick an Irish name after Peter's brief stint in the country.

"And yours?"

"Pleased to meet you, Liam. I am Henry - Henry Sturges." There was no need to lie - this man was doubtfully from his world. His real name would be no liability here.

"Hello, Henry," Adam greeted courteously. "Where are you off to?" he added, nodding to the map in Henry's hand. "I'm still learning the way around here myself."

"To the library, in fact. I wished to do some research on this place." Mostly, to find out if he had to worry about the need to drink blood. That was something he did not share with his new acquaintance though.

"Not a bad idea." Adam usually just learned about a place by people-watching and listening. Books would have biased viewpoints. Still, it wouldn't hurt to check them out.

"Maybe I'll do the same."

"Well, I have yet to find my way there yet, so you are welcome to come along, if you wish." He held out the map. "Especially if you can tell me what street we are on."

Adam glanced around hoping to find a street sign close by. "No," he admitted. "I can't do that. But there are sure to be noticeable landmarks we can use instead that will match up with your map."

"Well, that will have to do then." Henry gestured to the man, "After you, sir. And thank you for your assistance."

Adam gave a look around the surrounding area before choosing a direction. It may or may not lead to the library, but at the moment he had no other pressing engagements. Might as well explore.

"So what do you think of this place so far?" Adam asked his new companion. "Or have you had a chance to see much of it?"

He followed after, rolling up the map and sauntering along just a step or so behind the other man.

"I find it quite lovely. If not unnerving." For many possible reasons. "However I haven't seen enough of it to really ... let myself have a firmer opinion."

Adam raised an eyebrow. He'd been locked up for so long he was just glad for the open air. But maybe the unnerving bits would reveal to him in time.

"I explored a bit of one island," Adam said. "I hiked up the mountains and got a good view." He pointed to the mountains on Henry's map, tracing the peaks. "You should check it out."

Henry looked at the mountains, his gaze thoughtful, before he shook his head. "I shall need to get better bearings, before I try anything like that."

"Fair enough." He glanced around at any noticeable landmarks close by, comparing them with the map. He traced a mental line from their location to the library. And while he was looking, he took note of other businesses he should visit later.

Henry himself took note of the people - what they were doing, whom they were speaking with, just how suspiciously they viewed newcomers to their home. He nodded at them, politely enough, when they looked his way.

He also watched his new companion - the resemblance was uncanny, but the personalities were as different as could be.

Adam could feel the other man's eyes on him. Thinking of that Victor fellow, probably. "Is he really that similar to me?" he asked. Judging by Henry's initial reaction, Victor was probably a touchy subject, but Adam couldn't help but wonder anyway.

"... Only in looks." Is Henry's slow and considered reply. He doesn't want to saddle the man with Victor's memory. His new companion was his own person, after all.

"You move differently. React differently, as well. Victor wasn't really one for altruism."

Adam raised an eyebrow at that. He really wasn't one for altruism, either, but he wasn't going to correct the other man's assumption. "And how do I move?" Adam asked, focusing on another of the man's statements. Henry was an interesting man; Adam wondered how good an observer he was, what he saw.

Henry gave the other man a more thoughtful look, tilting his head to the side at the eyebrow. One corner of his mouth lifted up. "Well, now I know that you are not typically altruistic by any stretch of the imagination - so I must be a curiosity to you. You also move like a man who has been trapped for a very long time, and does not want to go back. Wary, yet ... wanting to explore. Stretch his legs."

Both eyebrows were up now, Adam looking impressed. "You got it in one, friend." He wasn't usually so easy to read. Either he was out of practice by being alone for so long or Henry was just that good. Either way the man was proving to be more and more like someone Adam should keep in contact with.

"But I'm not the only wary one, am I? There's something about this place you're uncertain of."

Henry dipped his head in acknowledgement to the compliment, before his own smile twisted at the corners. Clearly, he was going to have to expose his secret all over again -- but for now?

"Let us just say that this is a new place, with new dangers and challenges. I need to know what they are first, before I feel right in my own skin."

[godcomplexing]

"Perfectly reasonable," Adam agreed. He, too, wanted to know of any dangers or challenges this place might present. Perhaps if he masked it better, he could take his sword along after all... He filed that away for later.

"Library, then."
