How To Play:

→ Comment with the character you’d like to test drive. Don’t forget to add their name and canon in the subject line.
→ Choose a scenario, or start your own!
→ Tag around!

Possible Scenarios:

1. New Arrival: You've just arrived on the island of Medietas, in the city of Aerilon via a floating boat, with people you may or may not know. Of course, you can't help wondering what the heck is going on here, or how you even got on the boat, but the vessel seems to be approaching a harbor with what appears to be.. are those floating islands? They sure are! And as if that isn't mind boggling enough, no one seems to have answers. But you are greeted by some lovely locals who offer you a map and a communications device and send you on your way. Perhaps the questions can wait for now. There's a new place to explore!

2. Go Exploring!: There's plenty of places to see, be it in your designated housing area, or on one of the adjoining community islands! Visit the market on Aerilon. Hike the mountains in Eurus. Sit on the beaches of Imber with a cocktail. Adventure in the forests of Mundus. Be careful though! Every area has it's dangers.

3. Party, party!: On the evening of your first night in the city, a party is being thrown on Aerilon in honor of your arrival. Eat, mingle, dance, meet the other new arrivals! The locals put on quite the celebration!

4. Wild Card! Customize your own scenario to fit your needs!

Hawke's head shoots up at the familiar voice, eyes wide with surprise. Staring in dumbfounded shock seemed to be the fad of the day, and Hawke was putting it to good use. It's hard to say who she would expect to see her here, when this was so far out of her realm of experience that she hadn't quite yet managed to form any expectations, but suffice to say that Anders walking up to her in the middle of broad daylight still managed to blow through them.

She takes his hand and straightens up, haphazardly folding the map and shoving it away in a pocket, still looking at him with no small amount of shock. "Anders--" But it wasn't just that he was here, she realizes, eyes scanning his face. He was different than that day that they went their separate ways, he was...younger. There were less stress lines, and he was dressed with actual colors. Her eyes darted from his face to Bear, who was sniffing at Anders cautiously. The dog mulled it over, then gave a sharp bark, and headbutted Anders' hand. A demand for headpats was better than an attempt to bite, and she relaxed. Slightly.

"--Is it safe for you to be out here? Wherever...here is?" Hawke finally finishes, glancing around at what she can see of the city. "I mean--it's good to see you, of course, but I'd rather not contend with an angry mob while you explain to me what is going on." The fact that Anders would, indeed, explain was stated as politely as ever, but with a definite firmness. Whatever had happened, she intended to not be left in the dark.

Well, that seemed to be the common look he was getting today. At least in Hawke he didn't see complete anger, frustration and disgust. Just concern, apprehension and a good deal of caution.

"Oh no, not you too." Anders muttered. Really, what was it going to take to find someone who didn't know him and have a horrible opinion of him? The mage let the Mabari sniff him, thinking it over as only that dog could, and nuzzle for pats. Anders, being a animal person, obeyed. "It'd be easier if you could pretend you were a cat, you know." Anders spoke to Bear, since he was being polite. " Maybe meow once in a while and try to suffocate me in my sleep." At least the Mabari was a good distraction. He needed more animals in his life. Maybe this place needed an animal shelter.

"Well, no one's screamed 'MAGE! APOSTATE! RUN!' while I've been here. Actually, they gave me a job at the clinic and everything. They even have lyrium. At least, I think it's lyrium. Acts kind of like lyrium. Tastes different though. As for where we are? No clue." He put on a dashing, charming smile that the Templars had probably grown to hate. Anders specializes.

"Actually I was kind of hoping you were here to rescue me. So...no, I'm guessing?"

The dog gave a quiet wuff, leaning into the patting hand, tail wagging happily away. Whether or not that was an agreement to Anders' terms remains to be seen. As for Hawke, she watched the scene with quiet amusement, a smile tugging at her lips. "If you want him to suffocate you, just feed him cheese before you go to bed. The last time I tried, I believe I came closer to meeting the Maker than I have in any other event in my life." That may be a slight exaggeration, but it eases some of the tension she feels building up. 'Not you too', huh? She would have thought that Anders would be glad to see her, but--well, he was allowed his opinions.

"Lyrium, but it tastes different? How does it differ when you use it? Is it more powerful, or--" No, they don't need to have a nerd mage pow wow right now, they can save that for later. She had to focus, and think. Anders had no idea where they were, but--he'd been given a job, which meant that this place clearly welcomed him. And no one trying to attack him...that bode well for her, as well. At the mention of rescuing, she laughed quietly, ducking her head.

"It's been a while since the last time I had to rescue you, hasn't it? I'd love to say that I have any idea what's happened, and I have some plan to heroically rescue you, but...I'm afraid that I'm as much of a failure at heroics as I ever was." The smile she shot him didn't quite reach her eyes, tone dipping into bitterness as she brushed against old wounds. Unable to rescue people who expected it from her, now there was something new and not at all unbearably familiar.

"Still--I promise you this, Anders." Even if he didn't want her around, or whatever that issue had been, he was still one of her old companions, and one of her old friends. She gives his hand a little squeeze, trying on a brave smile. "I'll do my best to rescue us both, alright? I'm not leaving here without you. I hope that counts...for something."

"I'll have to remember that. No cheese. " The teasing eased the tension. And he was glad to finally have someone on his side. She was on his side wasn't she? He still wasn't entirely sure. But she was worried about his well being, so that counted for something. Hawke was on his side. That settled it. But he still had to ask.

"Hawke," Anders started tentatively, brushing aside all the possibilities they might talk about. New herbs, lyrium, new worlds.

"Did...." How could he phrase this? It was easier when people just came out and accused him. "Did I do anything to you I don't remember?" He didn't want to hurt her. But how could he not? His life, Maker, all their lives, were such a mess.

"And that does count for something. More than you can know. "

There was a flutter of confusion in her eyes as Anders asked--what an odd question. Did he mean...If Justice had done anything? Anders never seemed to remember what happened when he came out, but her conversations with the spirit had never been anything to note. Nor had they many interactions, in general. Or did he mean something besides Justice--?

"I can't say what you can or can't remember," Hawke began, eyebrows furrowed. "But if you mean if you've ever done any wrong turns to me, well--I still recall that you lied to me. About why you needed those ingredients, the drakestone and whatnot. But you apologized, and--" She pressed her lips into a line, hand reaching out to settle on Bear's head. "--I suppose, looking at it from your perspective, I understand why you did it. If you'd told me the truth, I'm not sure what I would have done."

And she turned back to him, expression grim. "That doesn't mean that...I think it was a good idea. But I understand. But other than that? You've--no, you've never done anything to me."
