T E S T D R I V E M E M E

Welcome to Medietas! Are you interested in joining the game? Have an old muse you want to dust off, or voice test a brand new one in our game setting? Then you've come to the right place!

You all know what to do but if you don’t, just follow the instructions and HAVE FUN!

How To Play:

→ Comment with the character you’d like to test drive. Don’t forget to add their name and canon in the subject line.
→ Choose a scenario, or start your own!
→ Tag around!

Possible Scenarios:

1. New Arrival: You've just arrived on the island of Medietas, in the city of Aerilon via a floating boat, with people you may or may not know. Of course, you can't help wondering what the heck is going on here, or how you even got on the boat, but the vessel seems to be approaching a harbor with what appears to be.. are those floating islands? They sure are! And as if that isn't mind boggling enough, no one seems to have answers. But you are greeted by some lovely locals who offer you a map and a communications device and send you on your way. Perhaps the questions can wait for now. There's a new place to explore!

2. Go Exploring!: There's plenty of places to see, be it in your designated housing area, or on one of the adjoining community islands! Visit the market on Aerilon. Hike the mountains in Eurus. Sit on the beaches of Imber with a cocktail. Adventure in the forests of Mundus. Be careful though! Every area has it's dangers.

3. Party, party!: On the evening of your first night in the city, a party is being thrown on Aerilon in honor of your arrival. Eat, mingle, dance, meet the other new arrivals! The locals put on quite the celebration!

4. Wild Card! Customize your own scenario to fit your needs!
orions_shadow: (Get off my case!)

I watch the show. I know.

"This isn't Paris, and Akumas, whatever they are, are not the worst things in the multiverse. I'd wager if it makes people look like me? Average threat level---" He's not even listening to him anymore, the creep! He growls at him, leaping down to his level, fur bristling around his neck. Don't ignore him!

"What I'm speaking of, old man, is the bigger picture. The whole of the multiverse and the infinite. Ouroboros. Does that even register with you? Anything is possible, everything is possible. And your Chat Noir? Seen him. He might be magic but he's still just human, and I ain't scared of him."

Ladywhat now?
papaillon: (Gabriel Stern)

I know, still felt obliged to apologize.

[personal profile] papaillon 2016-06-08 06:10 am (UTC)(link)
No, he wasn't listening. Or at least, he intended to give that impression. When the boy jumped down, he simply moved to step around him, intending to ignore him entirely. Until he said something that could not be ignored.

Chat Noir. Here. And perhaps not Ladybug. This was his chance. The miraculous would be his. And this boy? He would use him. Oh yes. But he couldn't, not as Gabriel.

"Chat Noir is here? Then Nathalie and my son may well be, as well. And if you are not afraid of Chat Noir, perhaps it is simply that he does not see you as evil," he said simply. "I believe I shall find a newspaper, and a cafe, and consider my options. Good day." More polite than he intended to be, but that tidbit was quite useful, and if this boy could become an akuma, could get him the miraculous? Yes. Yes, that would work very well.
orions_shadow: (Kinda brattish)

Gabriel you are going to frusterate this kid so much.

[personal profile] orions_shadow 2016-06-08 06:18 am (UTC)(link)
Whether or not he could become an Akuma really depended on whether or not Hawkmoth could give him a reason to accept the power, give a power he didn't already have, or actually convince him to do the work.

He wasn't as susceptible to psychic powers either, except for one little detail, his having a magical control spell already cast on him.

"Wouldn't be afraid of em even if I was a villain... And man, you are every single thing I hate about grownups. Treat everyone like they're beneath you... Bet your son feels the same way." He can't imagine any kid being happy living under the iron fist of this dictator.
papaillon: (Gabriel Stern)

Yay?

[personal profile] papaillon 2016-06-08 06:21 am (UTC)(link)
Good to know. He had no fear of Chat Noir. If he was at all accurate about his level of skill he would be a useful tool indeed.

"You have yet to give me a reason to believe you are not," he said simply, cooly, still walking. "What my son feels is between he and myself."
orions_shadow: (That's outrageous!)

Re: Yay?

"Want me to list the reasons? I'm not some ass of a human being who's got no personality, I could literary pick up this palette and crush you with it if I wanted, and I do, but I won't, and the difference is I bet you would outta spite." He pauses, climbing up to the outcropping again.

And then he picks up on it.

"So what can you do, magic man? You got powers, and that's why you're such a prat? Or is it that you just are and you don't even realize?"
papaillon: (Gabriel Stern)

[personal profile] papaillon 2016-06-08 06:43 am (UTC)(link)
"I would not even consider it, that is the difference," he said simply. "Adults have power that children lack, and the wisdom to know when to withhold it."

"I am well aware of who and what I am, far more than you are," he said flatly. The child could sense the miraculous? Impossible! Or was he baiting him, trying to bluff and see what he would admit to. He would admit to nothing.
orions_shadow: (Don't tell me what to do)

[personal profile] orions_shadow 2016-06-08 06:49 am (UTC)(link)
"Wrong. Human beings don't have any power, only the delusion they do. Even the most powerful being on my world is going to die some day, and he's an Incarnate." Sounds a bit like a miraculous doesn't it?

"A human with delusions of grandeur. Seen it. Not impressed. You're just some sad little man who has to be a dick to others just to feel power. Maybe if you were even half as scary as Lord Recluse I'd take you seriously."
papaillon: (Gabriel Stern)

[personal profile] papaillon 2016-06-08 06:53 am (UTC)(link)
And yet he claimed to sense magic on him. Not even a good bluff, that. A shame. Well, he would serve as a tool, or he would not. Time would tell. But he would have that miraculous.

"I have no delusions of anything, I assure you. I also have no need to reduce myself to crude vernacular to make a point. I likewise have no need to be scary, to you or to anyone. Do feel free to absent yourself from my company at your convenience."
orions_shadow: (Wicked Teeth)

The dismissal was probably the last straw, at least as far as keeping his temper was concerned. He leaps down into the alley behind Agreste and extended a hand, and with it, a shadow moving under foot to below the older man.

Black wispy tendrils emerge from it to grab at the man's limbs.

"You wanted me to give you a reason that I wasn't beneath you? I got power, you got some little tiny blip on the magic radar. You're nothing. Put that in perspective, you bastard!"

You know, if Gabriel hadn't been so dismissive and arrogant, he might have actually been able to fight off the urge to do this.

But nope, he's gonna put this old man in his place.
papaillon: (Gabriel eyes closed)

[personal profile] papaillon 2016-06-08 07:45 am (UTC)(link)
Did the child see the irony in using magic under his feet to prove he was not beneath him? Most likely not. He eyed the shadows that emerged, and while he moved to try and avoid them, he did not allow panic to show, nor did he move particularly fast.

Knowing Chat Noir was here, he was not above using himself as bait to confirm that he was not Papillion. In fact, this could work out to advantage. Yes.

"Perspective?" he asked, seeming unruffled. "You expect me to believe that a magical temper tantrum means that you are superior to an adult?"
orions_shadow: (Maul your face)

[personal profile] orions_shadow 2016-06-08 07:55 am (UTC)(link)
"The fact that you just said that proves it! You're an arrogant old bastard who wants to impose his will over everyone, only you don't have the power to do it!" Bah, Chat Noir can't be everywhere. Still, it would be prudent to finish this quickly as not to provoke attention.

Still more tendrils come out from below to reach out for the man to entangle him. Each one that does make contact has a draining effect.

"Bein' an adult doesn't make you better. It doesn't make you superior. Doesn't make you wise. It just makes you older'n me, and somehow, with you people, that makes you think you have some authority! Well, you don't! You don't have power over me and y'never will!" And that's what his attacking him was, exactly. A big fat 'you're not the boss of me!'

Tantrum indeed.
papaillon: (Gabriel Stern)

[personal profile] papaillon 2016-06-08 08:11 am (UTC)(link)
"And so you simply plan on killing me?" He was Gabriel Agreste, it didn't matter how drained he was feeling, he would show as little of the effects as possible, until there was an advantage to doing otherwise. So he was doing his best to not show that he was feeling the drain. He was feeling it, and he could not hold out long....but...

Nothing drew out a hero like a villain attacking an innocent.

That was the problem with children, really, they never saw how to turn things properly to their own advantage. Well, he would be just as happy seeing to this child's education. Personally. Or rather, seeing to it that it is seen to in the harshest way feasible.

And given the root of this particular temper tantrum, Gabriel did the one thing he knew would enrage the child into losing all control, and making this into an incident so large that Chat Noir could not ignore it. He turned his head slightly and gave the boy a rare gift. He gave him a smile. Small. Almost a smirk, but a smile.

A sign that even this could not be seen as a threat, as though this were something small and cute. He made sure the expression remained just long enough to be seen, and not a moment longer.
