Welcome to Medietas! Are you interested in joining the game? Have an old muse you want to dust off, or voice test a brand new one in our game setting? Then you've come to the right place!

You all know what to do but if you don’t, just follow the instructions and HAVE FUN!

How To Play:

→ Comment with the character you’d like to test drive. Don’t forget to add their name and canon in the subject line.
→ Choose a scenario, or start your own!
→ Tag around!

Possible Scenarios:

1. New Arrival: You've just arrived on the island of Medietas, in the city of Aerilon via a floating boat, with people you may or may not know. Of course, you can't help wondering what the heck is going on here, or how you even got on the boat, but the vessel seems to be approaching a harbor with what appears to be.. are those floating islands? They sure are! And as if that isn't mind boggling enough, no one seems to have answers. But you are greeted by some lovely locals who offer you a map and a communications device and send you on your way. Perhaps the questions can wait for now. There's a new place to explore!

2. Go Exploring!: There's plenty of places to see, be it in your designated housing area, or on one of the adjoining community islands! Visit the market on Aerilon. Hike the mountains in Eurus. Sit on the beaches of Imber with a cocktail. Adventure in the forests of Mundus. Be careful though! Every area has it's dangers.

3. Party, party!: On the evening of your first night in the city, a party is being thrown on Aerilon in honor of your arrival. Eat, mingle, dance, meet the other new arrivals! The locals put on quite the celebration!

4. Wild Card! Customize your own scenario to fit your needs!

"We're not running from anything," she tells him. Though the word 'yet' is left out of that. After all, just about anything could happen. She kisses him back with just as much passion and leans into him, content for the moment. Even if they were on some island of some sort.

"We'll deal with whatever is thrown at us together."

"It's a change to be so reduced, yes. Sometimes the house feels too small and I have to go outside if I sleep at night." Ratchet looked at his arms, then back at Ironhide.

"Three years, I've had this frame. It's never gotten any easier. I've gotten my body back before, for a week at a time, because of where I was. She didn't want anyone to have their powers and that meant I was as human as the rest of them. And I recently got it back again, but this time, the only price I pay is that I'm exhausted after the shift. Massive energy transfer. But everything works."

"Well, now this is something I haven't seen in months," Zoe said, looking over ironside appreciatevly. She was respectful, however, and met his eyes steadily, giving him a smile.

Zoe sat down next to him on the beach, looking out over the water. She herself was wearing a black string Bikini.

"I for one have no problem not limiting your mobility. I'm Zoe. Been here long?"

Ratchet's eyebrow rose. "That, actually. I can make everything if I had the materials and the technology level to support it. And I could shift, but I need someone else who I can teach to help with the hookups."

Ratchet laughed, his eyes flaring blue. He stepped back and looked around for any other curious eyes. He wasn't out as an Autobot in his true body to the general public yet. Then his eyes closed and he thought back to when Merlin gave him back his body and pulled up the recollection of that night, and then it was as if he was caught in a lightning storm and then black.

His systems booted up while he concentrated on keeping the horizon still, before rolling to his side and up onto his knees, gears whirring. He was green instead of yellow, but he was otherwise the exact same as when they were in Egypt.

"Better? Or do you want to see my truck mode? I changed colors after Egypt when we moved to DC."

"True." And he heard that word, yet, that wasn't spoken, and sadly agreed with it. "I heard they had an invasion of bunny monsters, just a few weeks ago."

Which made him want to laugh, except the people he had heard talking about it had all looked haunted, which made him twitch.

"Yes we will. As long as I'm with you, I can deal with anything."

Sam blinked. "Really?" And as he thought about it, things fell into place in his head, hurting, but clear. "I--- I know how to work that. I could work the hookups and alignment and even tune it, but I'm not sure I could make even the components here."

Then he paused. "But, you...can shift? If you can, I could..." And he clutched his head, whimpering. "Okay, maybe time to stop thinking about this for awhile." He panted a little. "Sometimes things come easy, like the language, and reading it, but some things... I guess maybe if they are too complex? They hurt, a lot." Like his brain wasn't designed to handle it.

He shook his head. "I thought, after the third conflict, that I had managed to dodge any more complications, but when things went completely batshit again, and I was watching it all on television, unable to get there, I felt like my head was going to explode. And I started having nightmares, and headaches. And every machine seemed simple to me, to fix, build, improve."

He shook his head.

"I don't know anything after Chicago, Sam." Ratchet said quietly after he had rambled and came to a stop. "I know only of what I actually lived through, and I don't think I've done that yet."

Sam stared at him then closed his eyes and turned away, stepping a few steps away. He fought his emotions, his memories of Ratchet being dead, and he took a long breath, then he turned back.

"Good. Don't. It sucked. Stay here, wherever here is." He spoke fiercely, feeling like he was floating, like he was riding a wave of... too many different emotions to name.

he gritted his teeth and nodded. "Never go back. Humanity will only disappoint you."

"On a whole, they haven't. But being here instead of there? At least I have the belief that those who've died can come here. You know the last place I was at Jazz was there."

A pause.

"Yes. I can shift to answer an earlier question. It's exhausting, but I am whole again. My Spark's in a display case, but I haven't checked to see if it transfers. I should test that sometime."

Sam raised his eyebrows. Then maybe there were chances, ways and hopes past the end.

He shook his head, then smiled. "I'd love to help, if I can. And if you can change... that's cool, really cool. I'm glad, Ratchet." He smiled warmly. That was about the best news he knew, yet.

"How many worlds like this are there, out there?"

"The worlds the people are from, or the location? For the second part, three that I know of. This place, the place I was before, and another place a patient told me about."

Ratchet grinned. "You missed the fun. It was bunnies. Four feet tall, and venomous and with a taste for human flesh. I got a lot of humans to safety or elsewhere. Squished a fair number of the creatures. They were harming humans, so it didn't break the code."

Hawke spins on his heel to look at the young lady, a bright and flirtatious grin appearing on his face. "Well, that's another point in its favour." He says, "Another point for being the current location of the loveliest lady I've seen all day." It's not the best line, he knows it, but he's not at his best right now. He feels like a house has dropped on him, and maybe it has. Maybe this is some strange, strange dream.

"So I guess I have to ask, where am I?" He gestures at the map and then to the gaggle of locals, "The Welcoming Committee didn't actually say." Or if they did, they mentioned it in passing. He really doesn't know, and he's damned if he recognises it. But he hazards a guess. "Europe?"

Hawke managed to gasp a breath, looking at the contents of his glass in confusion. It was true, he'd not had real alcohol in weeks, months really, because a few measures out of Potter's cabinet didn't count. And what Rosie served was actually paint stripper.

"Today," He says, once his voice is his own again, before taking a second, more careful swallow. "You know, they don't show this bar on the map. The first thing I wanted when I came off the boat was a drink. They should have thought of that."

Raise your hands up? He looks around, perplexed. Who says that to someone coughing up their lungs? It's what you should do, he knows, he's a doctor. But even he never says that to anyone. Margaret probably does. And it sounded very much like her- ordered and efficient, without even the hint of bedside manner.

He nods at her question even so, and wonders if she's trained as a nurse. An army nurse, for that matter. "What do they put in this stuff, real alcohol?" He asks, looking at the remaining liquid in his glass. Maybe it was real. Or maybe it was just a lot, lot worse than the stuff out of his still. He wasn't sure yet.

"Thanks for saving my life." He adds, "It'd be just my luck to escape the war and die in a bar. The name's Hawkeye. What's yours, nurse?" He says nurse jokingly, a smile on his face. She's not actually a nurse, obviously.

1 - because while she would get drunk, this is more fitting...

[personal profile] kaylinneya 2016-05-21 08:33 am (UTC)(link)
She had been one of the confused people milling about. She took her package with a scowl, and swore under her breath when the person who had given it to her rushed off. Something about overactive foundlings who clearly need a den mother.

The woman was on the short side, and a weird anachronistic mix of time and wealth. Because time wise, she did not belong to Hawkeye's time. At all. Not going by the chain and leather armor, and the daggers. But at least that all more or less went together on her. But somehow she managed to look as poor as those he saw regularly displaced by the war, while wearing what looked like a bracelet that would have beggared Charles to own. She looked like someone who didn't care for her appearance at all, given the rumpled crushed wrinkled look to the long sleeves of the linen shirt that showed under chain and leather armor, and the equally crushed tabard with the golden Hawk over it, and the messy hair pulled back roughly with a chewed up stick. Except she had what looked like a very delicate tattoo of a flower on her face. A poisonous one at that. Deadly Nightshade.

And none of that, antique gold bracer with gems, crumpled clothing armor, solid boots, daggers on either hip... went with the cat sized semi-translucent dragon looking thing that was sitting on her shoulder, eating her hair. She opened the package about the same time he was opening his. "A map," she said dryly, staring at it. Then she swore creatively in at least a half dozen languages, at least one of which sounded like a spitting cat.

The shudders go through him for only a second longer before his breathing is normal again. Almost normal, because that sounded exactly like - "Margaret!" The joy and happiness in his voice are almost unbelievable. Sure sure, he saw her only yesterday but since then the whole world has turned upside down. She might not have been his first choice for companions from home, but she is more than welcome.

"Margaret you are a beautiful sight for sore eyes!" He says, "I could kiss you- is Frank around? Then I might kiss you!" But he knows better than to try it. Margaret doesn't let you flirt with her, never mind touch her, unless all the walls are down. Right now he knows the walls are all up. So far up.

"When did you get here?" He asks, because she doesn't look like she only just stepped off the boat. Then again, this is Margaret. There's never a hair out of place or a button missing. If there was, the world would be about to end.

Hawkeye hardly believes his eyes. Or his ears. "Beej!" He manages, voice strained from the coughing, and gets up. The bar isn't busy, so at least he doesn't have to fight anyone to get through to his friend, wrapping his arms around him. He'd been certain he wasn't going to see any of them again, ever.

"What are you drinking?" He asks, having left his own glass back at his seat, and it can stay there. Whatever it was, it wasn't good.

Then he cottons on to what BJ's said, and frowns at him. They hadn't said goodbye. Why would they say goodbye? The last time Hawke had seen his friend had been the Swamp- BJ had been writing home and Hawke was going out to the showers. "What do you mean, 'so long'?"

Hawkeye feels like swearing himself, because that's clearly what the well-armed young woman is doing, even though he doesn't understand any of the words, the intention is there. "I second that." He says, taking a few more steps up to her, turning the map around and around in his hands. He doesn't much like maps. He prefers just to find his way. Not that it's advisable in Korea, with the mines and the snipers and the bored MPs milling around. But there doesn't seem to be any of that here.

He looks around them, to see if the new arrivals are being shown through to some sort of training room, some sort of offices where they'll be given a proper explanation. Or at least some instructions. But clearly he's been in the army too long.

"Looks like we might be stuck in this together." He says, although he doesn't seem upset about this, after all, who can complain when you've got a pretty young woman as your companion? That's when he sees the dragon, a change in the light making it suddenly obvious, and the man in army fatigues leaps backwards. "Aggghh!"

Kaylin glanced over as he spoke, one hand dropping to rest on the pommel of her dagger, her other arm holding, well, everything they just handed her. But one or both hands resting on her daggers is her at ease state, so it isn't MEANT to be alarming.

Stuck in this together? What was that supposed to mean? In her world there were many people who could read minds. It was not generally a power needed with Kaylin, since her expressions showed her thoughts quite openly. She never mastered to hide her feelings well, so the fact that her latest round of cursing was staying inside her mouth didn't make it any less obvious that she was confused and ****ed.

She had finally managed to swallow down the words she wanted to say, to try and chose ones, if possible, that were more diplomatic - and there were reasons she was kept away from people who required diplomacy as often as Iron Jaw could manage - when he cried out and leapt backwards.

She dropped the stuff she had been given there, drawing both daggers as she turned to face whatever he had seen and saw... just more people like them, milling about. She swore, turning back to him, rising from the crouch she had dropped into. "What the ****s?" she asked, bluntly.

There were reasons she hadn't been on the case with the missing money. Only some of them involved the possible end of the world.

Daggers? Daggers were strange, but they weren't too far removed from the knives that some GI's carried, especially out in Korea. The weird armour? That was weird. Pretty damn weird, but he could have dealt with the armour if there hadn't been the lizard.

It had to be a lizard because dragons weren't real. Lizards didn't normally come with wings, and you couldn't normally sort-of see through them, but his brain refused to accept anything else.

He didn't even notice the attractive curve of her body when she crouched down, which really did say something about his state of mind at that moment. Normally, Hawke was all for noticing how pretty anatomy could be. He didn't even notice the swearing, his attention, and gaze, still firmly on the lizard. He was just going to call it a lizard. Lizard was easiest.

"That. I... where we come from, they don't have wings." He managed, although the first word came out as a croak. And then, pulling himself together, he got up off the cobbles. "Sorry. Been a long day. Very long. I, er," He paused again, still watching the lizard, "I'm Benjamin Pierce. But everyone calls me Hawke. Or Hey you!."

Not his best ever joke, but it helped him find his smile again, even if it was a little fragile.

"They don't... ?" she was confused... until the creature bit her ear. She swore at it, then blinked. "Oh. Right. Sorry, got used to people being done with the staring at it. Him. It." she shook her head. How the ****s should I know. "They have familiars where you're fro.... Hawk?" her mind caught up to her mouth then. Teela would say it was faster than usual for her. Then she'd smack Teela and have a bruised hand. Odd thoughts that lead to odd expressions. She shook them away.

"Private" still, *** it all, "Kaylin Neya...." she said slowly, watching him. "Of the Hawks....."

Now even without the introduction and the armour, he could have guessed she was some sort of career soldier. It was the way she'd gone from neutral to attack in about half a second. Much faster than any enlisted men he'd met so far, then again, a lot of the enlisted men he'd met were bandaged up and on stretchers, so maybe that didn't count.

"Familiars? Not outside of Halloween." He said, "I guess were we come from, we just call them pets."

He'd been unthinkingly reaching out to touch the lizard, but paused with his hand half-way towards it when she continued. "The Maine Hawks?" He asked, with a bit more of a grin, "Or maybe you're from the other side of the family, the God-Only-Knows-Where Hawks?"
kaylinneya: (Tattoo profile)

"Where the ****s is Halloween?" she asked, confused. She'd go there, wherever it was, if they could tell her how to get rid of this thing, or at least how the ****s to understand it. The familiar squawked at her and smacked her face with a wing. She swore, but understood that much at least. It was irritated with her. Again. Great.

"Main Hawks? There is only one branch of Hawks," she said, as if he were slow. "Investigate, enforce the laws." Represent, Kaylin. Represent the laws. "Arrest criminals. Hawks."

The familiar eyed his hand, head cocked. The eyes were the only non-translucent thing about the beast, looking black as jet, with hints of color, like dark opals. It stood on her shoulder and stretched, spreading one wing over her hair, and the other over nothing, still eyeing his hand like it might be a tasty treat.

"If you breathe on him, so help me, I will find out if it is possible to strangle you," she threatened it.

It trilled angrily at her.

"One day I will learn what it's saying," she muttered to Hawkeye. "I'm sure there had to be at least one useful word in there somewhere."

"Probably because most of them will head straight here if they knew. May I ask where you were before waking up in the boat?"

Ratchet sipped at his drink, vodka, neat.
