Welcome to Medietas! Are you interested in joining the game? Have an old muse you want to dust off, or voice test a brand new one in our game setting? Then you've come to the right place!

You all know what to do but if you don’t, just follow the instructions and HAVE FUN!

How To Play:

→ Comment with the character you’d like to test drive. Don’t forget to add their name and canon in the subject line.
→ Choose a scenario, or start your own!
→ Tag around!

Possible Scenarios:

1. New Arrival: You've just arrived on the island of Medietas, in the city of Aerilon via a floating boat, with people you may or may not know. Of course, you can't help wondering what the heck is going on here, or how you even got on the boat, but the vessel seems to be approaching a harbor with what appears to be.. are those floating islands? They sure are! And as if that isn't mind boggling enough, no one seems to have answers. But you are greeted by some lovely locals who offer you a map and a communications device and send you on your way. Perhaps the questions can wait for now. There's a new place to explore!

2. Go Exploring!: There's plenty of places to see, be it in your designated housing area, or on one of the adjoining community islands! Visit the market on Aerilon. Hike the mountains in Eurus. Sit on the beaches of Imber with a cocktail. Adventure in the forests of Mundus. Be careful though! Every area has it's dangers.

3. Party, party!: On the evening of your first night in the city, a party is being thrown on Aerilon in honor of your arrival. Eat, mingle, dance, meet the other new arrivals! The locals put on quite the celebration!

4. Wild Card! Customize your own scenario to fit your needs!

Adam could feel the other man's eyes on him. Thinking of that Victor fellow, probably. "Is he really that similar to me?" he asked. Judging by Henry's initial reaction, Victor was probably a touchy subject, but Adam couldn't help but wonder anyway.

Bran ran into his arms, hugging his father tightly. He didn't understand what had happened but at least he wasn't alone. Summer barked happily, standing back and keeping guard over the two while they embraced.

Once he finally pulled back, he looked around. "Where are we, Father?" It certainly wasn't Winterfell, Bran would know better than most. Then again, he was glad to be away from the Queen and her brother.

"... Only in looks." Is Henry's slow and considered reply. He doesn't want to saddle the man with Victor's memory. His new companion was his own person, after all.

"You move differently. React differently, as well. Victor wasn't really one for altruism."

Ned had turned slightly, his back more to her when she called out to him. All of it came rushing back and as he closed his eyes tightly, he remembered not the last time he saw her, but better times. Back in Winterfell. When life was good.

When they were still together.

Turning his face to look in her direction, Ned's eyes welled at seeing her. She looked so grown up. So beautiful. So.. weary, as if she's lived two lifetimes since they last saw each other. And he can't help but feel nothing but the utmost sadness that she has.

Soft eyes meet hers and he gives her a smile and then nods.

"It's me, Sansa." he tells her, voice trembling as he tries so hard to remain strong. For her. Ned can't believe for one moment that it's been easy for her since that day on the steps of the Great Sept of Baelor. In fact, a great rush of guilt overtakes the Lord of Winterfell and it shows visibly.

Sansa runs to him. It isn't ladylike at all but she doesn't care. It's her lord father, whom she hasn't seen in years, and no matter how much things have changed some things are the same.

"Father," she cries out, burying her face against his chest and wrapping her arms around him. She's taller now, yes, but he's still her father and he can still make her feel small and safe.

"Father, I'm so sorry. It's my fault. It's all my fault."

"Found implies much the same." That lightness to her voice that was momentarily there, forgetting all that had just transpired. It made little sense, but perhaps his injuries had not been as bad...

"One should always get the lay of the land." And she hadn't bought anything. The question though...

There was a shake of her head as she regarded him. "No... Ezra was last with you."

Technically speaking, anyway. She had lost track in the confusion, but she had known that much. Her focus had been elsewhere.

Adam raised an eyebrow at that. He really wasn't one for altruism, either, but he wasn't going to correct the other man's assumption. "And how do I move?" Adam asked, focusing on another of the man's statements. Henry was an interesting man; Adam wondered how good an observer he was, what he saw.

"I just came from a place like that, too," Jo nodded.

The Apocalypse had money, at least the really, really big safe house cities did, but you could get nearly anything there, in any place, city or dessert, with a basket of food. Especially fresh fruits and vegetables that couldn't be found almost anywhere regularly now, and people, especially the just flash-banged in variety, would have sold off everything but children for a directions to a safe city.

"It's different, but you'll probably pick it up pretty quickly." Survival was like that. You learned or you died. Very quickly.

And Jo thought there was something about the woman's dark eyes, and carefully chosen words, that didn't say a fast death.

"It's a better way to deal." She admits with a nod. She'd much rather have the option of knowing what she's up against and being able to properly plan for it as much as can be allowed than be completely blindsided. She resists the urge to sigh and scrub a hand down her face--barely--and instead just glances around a bit, hands on her hips. "Guess I have a house to find now or something."

[Obi-Wan was no stranger to using comms and while he wasn't used to a network quite this large, it was still not a foreign concept. It was easy enough to figure out the way the handheld comm worked and once he had it in focus, he lowered his hood and addressed the camera.]

Some of you may know me. I'm Ben Kenobi, more formally known as Obi-Wan, and I wanted to find out just how many of you have arrived within the last few weeks. I can't exactly determine how I got here so I thought to collect as many stories as I could to see if I could decipher a pattern.

If you're on this frequency, could you share with me how you arrived? Was it from the boats? Did you simply wake up here or was there some other precipitating event? Any assistance is wholly appreciated.

Henry gave the other man a more thoughtful look, tilting his head to the side at the eyebrow. One corner of his mouth lifted up. "Well, now I know that you are not typically altruistic by any stretch of the imagination - so I must be a curiosity to you. You also move like a man who has been trapped for a very long time, and does not want to go back. Wary, yet ... wanting to explore. Stretch his legs."

A pleasure and an honor, I'm certain, Obi-Wan.

[He did say it was the formal way to address him, after all... although Alric hesitates just a moment, since it's so unfamiliar a name.]

...if I'm addressing you properly.

[He smiles affably and politely, with just a hint of contrition in case he's off the mark a bit.]

Alric, of House Caelegart. I'm not certain I can offer much information of value, however. I did arrive by boat. I'd been on my way home at the end of a diplomatic mission, but I recall nothing of any particular note happening at that specific moment. The quiet calm that makes up the bulk of most voyages by ship, I'm afraid.

Both eyebrows were up now, Adam looking impressed. "You got it in one, friend." He wasn't usually so easy to read. Either he was out of practice by being alone for so long or Henry was just that good. Either way the man was proving to be more and more like someone Adam should keep in contact with.

"But I'm not the only wary one, am I? There's something about this place you're uncertain of."

[It wasn't the sort of information that was terribly enlightening but sometimes investigation was the culmination of lots of tiny pieces instead of one large bit of information. Maybe this would be the same.]

I arrived from a desert after having spent some length of time in a small, charming village. It doesn't seem to have any resemblance to your arrival but maybe there's more than one way.

"Same here, this place is not New York that's for sure." Alexis mused between sips. "Alexis Castle." she added along with her offered hand. "Since college is basically on hold I figured finding a job would be the most rational course of action for now."

There's a blink and then Weyland recalls that she has no idea who he is. From his coat pocket he pulls out an ID badge and shows it to her. It's very official looking, with his face, name, age and all your usual ID things. "Temporal Regulator Weyland Falkner," he said. "I work for the Bureau of Temporal Regulations to make sure the timeline stays intact."

Either he's got the world's best poker face, he's delusional, he really believes this, or he actually is one. Whatever it is, his expression is one of earnest seriousness. He believes honestly in what he says he is and what he's doing.

"I was citing from our regulation handbook."

If it were printed out it would be about the size of several fantasy novel series put together. He has it practically memorized.

Really, he has different ideas of fun.

Mm... I confess I've not discovered a pattern yet, myself--men and women of the highest station and of no title whatever, from children to grandparents... although mostly adults, it seems, typically perhaps twenty to thirty years of age. Many seem well prepared to defend themselves or others, but certainly that cannot be said for all... although...

[He trails off, and chuckles softly, with a light shake of his head.]

...forgive me, I don't mean to rattle on, but it's something I've thought about, as well. I'd certainly be amenable, if you wish to exchange notes, so to speak.

Leonard Snart | Legends of Tomorrow

[personal profile] ice_tomeetyou 2016-05-08 09:00 pm (UTC)(link)

Leonard was never one to sit about, especially when there was exploring to do. Exploring led to knowledge, and knowledge led to... well, a well lined pocket was part of it. Being a step ahead of the game was also part of it. He hated not knowing where he was, or what he was doing. Being on the back foot was never his style.

Well, since he wasn't the hiking type, the market seemed like a good place to start. People were talkative, even amongst themselves. He could stay quiet, pick up information just by listening. And if people's belongings made their way into his pocket... it was a bonus.

She couldn't form words, her throat constricting as the grief of the last three years welled up. It hurt so much that she thought her chest might cave in and she'd stop breathing. The sound of his voice was a thousand knives and the songs of birds in one breath. Every night she saw in her minds-eye the crowd in front of Baelor's statue. She saw her father standing up there, haggard and wrong looking. Sansa stood not far away, trying her best to look brave and all Arya had wanted to do was run up to the both of them. She remembered the hushed sigh that fell afterwards when they'd cut off his head, though she hadn't seen what had happened.

Instead of speaking, an unintelligible broken sob spilled out, followed by more and followed still by tears. She remembered being very young, when even a scraped knee brought tears to her eyes and when Jon wasn't there to comfort her it was always her father. He had always been gentle, always encouraging her despite the fact that there were expectations upon her to be a certain way. She had told him once that being a lady, marrying a lord and overseeing his castle, was not for her. It hadn't been her then and it wasn't her now. Crying all over your father probably wasn't very ladylike but she did it anyway.

[It seems a sensible enough question to her, except for... Well. A Big Thing.]

It's not pleasant, Obi-Wan.

I fell. And should have died, along with my child. But I woke up on the boat as I had before I fell, and we're both...

[She's still limping, Sprout's in an incubator: 'fine' doesn't quite work]

Alive.

But I don't want to talk about the reasons for falling. Might be others the same.

Like everyone else it was via the boats but the last thing I remember was it had not been long after I was kidnapped, really long story.

"I can't get a loan yet, so I need to save up a little so I can start my own contracting place." He's good at it, and he likes it, working for himself, and he really likes the idea of being able to choose his clients. Not that he would turn most people down, at least not here. "So I need a job for awhile."

It's an odd though, looking at the girl, thinking she can't be much younger really than when Jo found Milliways. A year or two under maybe. Something hard around the edges. A chip that will end up serving her well in a place that doesn't have The Door to let her go back and hold to whatever she's got on the other side of the multiverse, wherever home had been.

"Yeah. Good luck with that." She half even means it.
The cookie cutter houses still bother her some.

Then, "Check your tables, wherever they are."

"This place left stuff in the houses for the first group that came through." Personal stuff. Stuff no one should know about. At least for most of them. It left guns and ammo for Jo, which she tried not to take as a comment from this place on her choices. Fuck it, if it was. She appreciated more weapons on hand than knickknacks as it was.

You don't suppose we're being prepared for battle, do you?
