Test Drive

Welcome to Medietas! Are you interested in joining the game? Do you have an old muse you want to dust off? Are you looking for a place to voice test a brand new character and would like to do so in our little island setting? Well, you've come to the right place!

You all know what to do but if you don’t, just follow the instructions and HAVE FUN!

How To Play:

→ Comment with the character you’d like to test drive. Don’t forget to add their name and canon in the subject line.
→ Choose a scenario, or start your own!
→ Tag around!

Possible Scenarios:

1. New Arrival: You have just arrived on the island of Medietas, in the city of Aerilon via a floating boat with people you may or may not know. Of course, you can't help wondering what the heck is going on here, or how you even got on the boat in the first place. But as soon as the vessel docks you are greeted by some lovely locals who offer you a map and a communications device before leaving you to your own. You probably have questions and there seems to be a number of people there already who may or may not have those answers. Talk to them! Or, get on the network and introduce yourself!

2. Getting Settled: So, you've arrived, but now there's five islands you should get yourself acquainted with. Meet your starter home neighbors! Start your new job! Check out the market on Aerilon. Or, attend one of the many block parties!

3. Lost!: Somehow you got yourself turned around and confused and getting back to where you want to be is looking impossible.

4. Wild Card: Got something else in mind and want to create your own scenario? Go for it!

"I look like a sir to you?" says Noriko, stopping and turning: she may not be the most normal looking person ever to encounter ha on the islands with the bright blue hair, though for once the metal gauntlets will look less questionable. At least she's covered, though a bikini top and shorts may not constitute much of that. Oops?

"Whatcha need?"

It was the hair that had thrown him at first - he had seen such things but only from the Free Cities and never with women. Now, there was a young woman. In ... less clothing than he was used to and with a growl in her voice that had him warily taking a step back to defend himself if necessary.

Some sort of ... warrior Dothkari woman?

"Well now that I have ... viewed you in closer proximity, it seems your attributes give you away as a lady, my lady." He stated dryly, "I am wondering what manner of place this was."

"Whoa, hey, chill," she said, palms out as she turned to face him, not intending to fight him if there's literally any other choice (she's had more than a few spontaneous fistfights go bad on her). "Yeah, tits will do that," she answered to his mention of her assets--hey, she wasn't built, but wasn't totally flat either.

And then that question; she wasn't new, but it wasn't easy to answer. Still. "Well. It's called Medietas, and it's an archipelago, but...floating. High enough that jumping off the edge of the islands would be not good. As to much past that...it's basically like any other city. This is Aerilon, the one with the shops."
tallasaking: (Oh Really?)

He holds his own hands up, the universal gesture of, 'I am not here to fight you either but you startled me', before letting his hands drop. His lips quirk up at that, pulling his scar a little, as he stated wryly, "Yes, tits are usually where I look first, myself. I am glad we have both acknowledged that."

He frowns then, sounding out the name of the island, before he nods at the architectural terminology and then - "I see ... how precisely does it float? And why?"

"I would've guessed you usually aimed a little lower," she says, one eyebrow cocked as she rocks back onto her heels. Sarcasm was her friend, really. Very close. (It's not often she's actually taller than someone, she feels the need to capitalize on this. Once, at least.)

Noriko shrugged at the questions. "Not a damn clue. I was asleep in a hospital containment room and woke up on a boat docking here, so as far as I'm concerned there's a possibility this could all be a really fucked-up hallucination." Substance-induced psychosis is a thing! And she's not sure whether she likes that idea better or worse than the notion that she's actually stuck on a floating bunch of rocks with literally no one familiar to her.

tallasaking: (Oh bitch please)

He arches one eyebrow in turn, before he returns with all due tartness, "Why start at the middle, when I can begin at the top and take in all the rolling scenery?"

He sighed, rubbing one hand through his bright golden curls. "I see. Is there a library here, with more information?"

He could not work like this - he needed context, background, something he could set his feet on and walk towards.

That got a soft snort of laughter; not many guys had a comeback to her sarcasm, much less an actually funny one. "I like you, you're funny," she chuckled. "Yes, there is a library, though I've yet to find any concrete answers to the 'why are we on floating rocks' question that don't involve legends from a long time ago and way too much mystical crap for my liking."

She's much more fond of facts, numbers and physics and laws that can't be bent or disregarded. "Would you like me to walk you to it, or are you feeling froggy?"

His lips quirked up - there was still nothing better than having a woman laugh at his humor. "I do what I can to amuse, outside of juggling rotten fruit." He hummed for a moment, before dipping into a slight bow.

"I am not ... froggy, but I am Tyrion Lannister. Would you be so kind as to escort me there?"

"You can keep the rotten fruit, horrible sarcastic humor usually does me better," she said easily, with a tiny lopsided smile.

"Froggy is an expression, not a name, but it's nice to meet you, Tyrion Lannister. I'm Nori, short for Ashida Noriko." And she gestures him ahead of her, so sure, she's willing to walk just about anywhere.

"Well, what I lack in height, I make up for in sardonic comments, so you are in luck." He smirked back at her, before starting to waddle in the direction she spoke of.

"Interesting -- what does 'froggy' mean, Nori?" Ashida Noriko - so her last name was in front of her first name. He would ask why in a moment.

"Oh good, I generally make up for what I lack the same way. And froggy?" she continued, breezing right past what exactly it was that she lacked. It was a long list. "It means to be anxious to do something. Usually it connotes something violent or exceptionally foolish, but that's not mandatory. It comes from being jumpy. Like a frog."

Americans, what can she say. (Not that her own country's sayings made any more sense.)

"Mmm, I say that you have me by at least a foot -- so I shall happily take my prize as most concentrated sarcasm." He walked along, parsing that one out, "Considering what I know of the Cranognan children -- that is more accurate than I would have imagined." The frog-eaters were, if anything, anxious to bring back the old ways and scorn the rest of them for the Seven Gods.

[personal profile] electro_kinetic 2016-06-13 05:27 am (UTC)(link)
Nori let out a snort at that. "As they say, it's not the size of the wand but the magic in the holder. And as far as height I have you beat only just by about a foot," she said; she was short, there wasn't a lot else that could be said about that. But she made up for it in numerous and interesting ways, like being able to stop a man's heart at twenty paces. And glow, though the daylight mostly hid that one. Mostly.

"I have no idea who or what the Cranognan children are, but they sound interesting. Are they literal children?"
tallasaking: (Laughing)

Re: Tyrion Lannister | ASOIAF | Option 3

[personal profile] tallasaking 2016-06-13 05:47 am (UTC)(link)
"Which just means I have more concentrated magic." He countered, his lips curving up in a wicked smile. "Amongst other things." Wit, knowledge, the ability to out-talk or out-annoy any of his enemies.

"They are literal children, born of the Cranognan men, our swamp people. They live towards the North, wilding children who keep to our old ways."

[personal profile] electro_kinetic 2016-06-13 05:56 am (UTC)(link)
"Is that an admission on your wand size?" she asked, a vague smile flirting around her mouth as she looked down at the blond head beside her. "Among other things."

Two could definitely play at that game and it'd been a while since Noriko had the opportunity to be not only mouthy but teasing, because her brand of teasing--this--wasn't usually received well outside people who knew her, and she was not at that stage with anyone here yet. "Oh," Nori said. "Rednecks. Okay. Gotcha."

Ask her what she knows about them sometime. She could tell you stories that'd make sailors blush. "Kids aren't usually that hard to deal with, though."
tallasaking: (Oh Really?)

[personal profile] tallasaking 2016-06-13 06:04 am (UTC)(link)
"If I was going to admit to my wand size, I would tell you it would be considered disproportionate to someone of my stature." He arched an eyebrow up at her, smirking at that smile. "Among other things."

Well, Nori, you were in luck. You had fallen in with the most teasing fellow in all of Westeros. He frowned though, before shrugging, "Rednecks is a bit odd, but certainly."

"Depends on the children." This he knew personally.

Re: Tyrion Lannister | ASOIAF | Option 3

[personal profile] electro_kinetic 2016-06-13 06:18 am (UTC)(link)
"That would have to be awfully small," she said, smiling dryly. "Pity."

She huffed. "Redneck is what we can swamp people and their kin in my world. So named because they're usually too stupid to do much other than field labor, hence sunburns on the back of the neck. They're generally not fun people; what they lack in intelligence they make up for in rabid dislike of people who look different." Like her, even before the blue hair.

"Other direction, my dear lady, other direction." He stated with mock severity. "Please give me credit where my credit is due."

Aaaaahhh. "Then no, they are not like that. They are more intelligent than most, and great fighters besides. I would never insult them by calling them 'rednecks'."

[personal profile] electro_kinetic 2016-06-13 06:41 am (UTC)(link)
"It's cute how you think I'm a lady," she said, laughing. "Or how you think I've never heard that size claim out of a guy before."

At the mention of their intelligence, Nori lifts a brow. "Well, they sound like they could either be incredible friends, or the worst enemies you'll ever have." Not unlike the people she was thinking off, oddly. "Do you not insult many people, then?"
tallasaking: (Laughing)

Re: Tyrion Lannister | ASOIAF | Option 3

[personal profile] tallasaking 2016-06-13 04:02 pm (UTC)(link)
"I like to assume every woman is a lady, until she proves otherwise. I have found it true of queens and commoners alike." He gave her a sly smile, "Beyond that, how will you know I am lying until you see for yourself? Supposition without fact is a dangerous way to play any game, Nori."

He thinks about the reports he had of House Reed terrifying other Houses all along the North. "I would say ... yes." Now, he laughs. "It really just depends on the day - and my mood. Sometimes I go out of my way to insult people as best I can."

[personal profile] electro_kinetic 2016-06-13 06:00 pm (UTC)(link)
"Oh, now I have to ask what your criteria for being a lady are," she says. The better to disprove them that way! It'll be fun, Tyrion.

As to that smiling comment she looks down at him with an expectant look. "Well if that's you offering to whip it out in public, don't let me stop you. I'm sure someone would get a kick out of it." Noriko likes that laugh he has, and finds herself amused about it. "Good, I'd hate to be insulted badly. I like some creativity if people are gonna give me shit."

"A true lady had sense, some kind of wit, kindness beneath whatever roughness, steel beneath the sweet. She should defend the weak, and denounce the feckless. Fine manners are all well enough, but nobility is not born, it is made."

"I never whip my cock out in public unless I am going to use it. Otherwise it gets excited for no reason whatsoever, and I don't like to tease the poor thing." He stated smoothly, before he smirked back up at her. "Oh trust me, my insults will vary, and dance upon your ears with tiny daggered wings."

Re: Tyrion Lannister | ASOIAF | Option 3

[personal profile] electro_kinetic 2016-06-14 02:55 am (UTC)(link)
"So a man with tits," she said blithely--yay, gender equality--as they walked, nearing the library. "You might be disappointed with fine manners out of me, I always hated the whole hiding-behind-politeness thing." Somehow, though, she doubts Tyrion's going to care about her manners.

All for the better. At his teasing about the aforementioned poor thing, though, she was expecting an entirely different answer, and her glance at him is sharper, more perceptive if anything, though it's also a little more luminous. She's known guys for whom blue balls were not an option. "Man, you know how to make a girl feel so special."

Re: Tyrion Lannister | ASOIAF | Option 3

[personal profile] tallasaking 2016-06-14 03:42 am (UTC)(link)
"Or a woman with balls, however you would like them to swing." He shrugged, because honestly it could worth either way. He looked up at the library, his mis-matched eyes gleaming with intent, before he looked back at her. "Some of my dearest friends were as blunt as a hammer. I have a feeling you are the same way."

Now he laughed again, before he looked up at her, "One has to be given the opportunity to do so first, I've found. Whipping one's cock out for a lady's approval never seems to have the right effect in these cases."

Re: Tyrion Lannister | ASOIAF | Option 3

[personal profile] electro_kinetic 2016-06-14 04:07 am (UTC)(link)
"They're swinging? That just got interesting," she chuckles. "I don't tend to pull my punches, no. I don't like or have a lot of patience for people hiding behind words when they don't have the stones to say what they mean."

She rubbed a hand over the back of her neck at that, pretending to be thoughtful. "I wouldn't worry, you'll probably get another chance. Some of us are easy."
