Test Drive

Welcome to Medietas! Are you interested in joining the game? Do you have an old muse you want to dust off? Are you looking for a place to voice test a brand new character and would like to do so in our little island setting? Well, you've come to the right place!

You all know what to do but if you don’t, just follow the instructions and HAVE FUN!

How To Play:

→ Comment with the character you’d like to test drive. Don’t forget to add their name and canon in the subject line.
→ Choose a scenario, or start your own!
→ Tag around!

Possible Scenarios:

1. New Arrival: You have just arrived on the island of Medietas, in the city of Aerilon via a floating boat with people you may or may not know. Of course, you can't help wondering what the heck is going on here, or how you even got on the boat in the first place. But as soon as the vessel docks you are greeted by some lovely locals who offer you a map and a communications device before leaving you to your own. You probably have questions and there seems to be a number of people there already who may or may not have those answers. Talk to them! Or, get on the network and introduce yourself!

2. Getting Settled: So, you've arrived, but now there's five islands you should get yourself acquainted with. Meet your starter home neighbors! Start your new job! Check out the market on Aerilon. Or, attend one of the many block parties!

3. Lost!: Somehow you got yourself turned around and confused and getting back to where you want to be is looking impossible.

4. Wild Card: Got something else in mind and want to create your own scenario? Go for it!

"Oh, talking with you is hardly the questionable part," Noriko replies breezily, talking over her shoulder as she climbs up the stairs. "Usually that's what comes later after you're already trashed."

She looks down for a second at his admission, but covers it well. "...Fair enough. People can be assholes." She'd know better than most, as the two bullet scars in her back can show. "Want to go in?"

"That's true ... I do tend to get rather thrown off by large amounts of liquor." He smiled softly, "However if I am not trashed, what will you do then?"

He sighed softly, "I agree. People can be do a great deal of harm to one another." He looked up at her, arching an eyebrow, "Naturally. I am like a fish out of water, without my books. After you?"

"What, if we're both sober?" she shrugs, seemingly thoughtful as she strolled to the doors, pulling them open. "Don't know. I'd have to think about it. And figure out if they have contraception around here."

"Well we don't have to be completely sober - but I would like to make sure I am seducing you and not a tree. That would just be embarrassing." He stated with a completely straight face, as he followed her through the doors. "Now, what is contraception?"

"You'd have to be impressively drunk to confuse me and a tree. Or you've got some seriously weird-looking trees back home," she said.

"Contraception is birth control. You take it, and ninety-eight percent of the time you won't get pregnant." Not as good as abstinence, but then depending on what set of beliefs you subscribe to that's not a hundred percent effective either.

"I can assure you -- I can get to that level of drunkness. And as far as I know, our trees are just like your trees." He stared at her for a moment, before he murmured as he led the way further into the library.

"Clearly, I have a lot of reading to do. Especially on methods of sexual activity in this world and others."

She snorts. "Nah, the sex is pretty much the same any way you slice it. Tab A goes into Slot B, you know the drill."

Beat.

"Presumably. Contraception just lets women actually enjoy it and not have to worry about the possibility of kids every single time you want to get laid."

He smiled warmly, "More than once, actually. It is my favorite kind of drill."

A thoughtful nod. "Where would the books be on that? So I can figure out precisely what I am asking a woman to put up with, when I am getting laid."

"Birth control? Probably under applied sciences. If you're looking for male birth control, it'll be under a different heading, though. It not being reversible."
tallasaking: (Oh Really?)

"...Pardon me, but did you say that male birth control is non-reversible? What do they do, make him a eunuch?" He had this horrifying feeling that they did, but he did head over to applied sciences. Once there, he started to pluck out a pile of books on a variety of subjects.

"Yes, I said it was non-reversible, and no, they don't make anyone a eunuch. The whole operation is a little complicated, but suffice it to say they don't cut anything off, just seal the two small tubes that carry sperm. With women it's easier, we just take a pill and don't ovulate."

She plucked out a book as she talked, tucking it under her arm.
